  1. Yup I have this problem too, if i select to transfer another album while it is currently transfering one it will freeze.
  2. better quality if you use the PCM recording mode yes, you can also upload your recordings to PC using USB and create CD's MP3's etc
  3. You can use the EQ but it still doesnt have a crisp sounding treble as the upper frequencies have been completly removed (presumably to make space for DRM information), dex Otaku's graphs show this nicely. Your best off transcoding the mp3s to ATRAC even though you will loose some quality, in my opinion it will sound better as the treble will not be lacking.
  4. Just ordered some Pressit MD labels (60pack) from http://www.choicestationery.com/acatalog/PressIt_Media.html for £2.98 (Inc VAT & Delivery). Viv or anyone else who has used these, how easy are they to print the labels for the spines? Is it hard to allign the paper correctly as the stickers must be small? Thanks, matt
  5. bendany if you pick up an old NET MD model, these currently function as external soundcards to some extent (although u have to transfer the music to the disc first). When playing music in sonicstage the sound will come through the headphone socket of the unit. Probably not good enough for what your looking for, but you can pick up cheap usb soundcards on ebay for about a tenner. I have one and it is surprisingly good quality!
  6. Ok I have discovered the problem must be with my CD drive as the songs do this on the computer aswell. I can solve it by ripping each track individually. Odd as no other programmes have this problem with my CD drive, odd!
  7. What unit are you getting ForegoneReality?
  8. Here is the RH10 service manual 1kyle, hopefully you can download it this way MZ_RH10_sm.pdf
  9. Its normally only noticeable with certain cds. If there is silence at the end of the tracks on the CD (like there normally is) you wont notice it. It is most noticeable with continuous mix cds eg dance. It occours with all Atrac bitrates and MP3s when transferring an album at once. I also select the top level album when transferring. I dont get this problem when transferring the same atrac files onto a NET MD formatted disc which is why I think it is some kind of driver issue
  10. A couple of people noticed it in 3.3 Whereby trackmarks are put in slightly the wrong place when transferring an album at once. Particularly noticable if the song before ends abruptly as you get the last 0.25 seconds of that track at the beginning of the next one. It doesnt happen when playing an album on the PC, so it is some issue when transferring the album to himd.
  11. No problems yet, however 3.4 still does not put the track marks in the correct place on my HIMD. still about 0.25 seconds too early so you get the last beat of the song before at the beginning of the track. Not a major issue but slightly annoying at i dont have this problem when recording in NET MD mode with the same device. With regards to the install, everything ran smoothly for me
  12. Sonicstage 3.4 Europe edition was released earlier today
  13. They would need to develop an ATRAC (SP) software decoder. I am guessing it takes a lot of time and resources to do this, maybe it is not economical to do?
  14. I feel there is a noticable improvement between LP2 and 192kb/s. 192 has a crisper sound to it, although it is not transparent from the original CD. For me 192 is the perfect balance between quality and file size. But as everyone always says it depends on your equipment and your personal preference.
  15. The addition of 192kb/s IMO is great and I shall be using it the most, but I wonder why they just dont let users use all the Atrac3Plus bitrates, as the second gen HIMD's support all mp3 bitrates. Mabye its to keep us in anticipation of the next version! Finally we can upload our music and even store it away from the computer without uploading worries! Well done sony im back on your team lol
  16. Has anyone noticed any improvements on the quality of ripped tracks in this latest version? In particular the low bitrates (64, 48)
  17. Bit off topic i appologise, but what are the main differences between the N10 and N910 Mr_Bass_Man? Thanks, matt
  18. Mabye its an issue with all NET MD remotes on all HIMD units.

    MD Volume

Try putting all the bands on the graphic equaliser to the top, have you tried it out with different headphones?
  20. Well thats good news, I couldnt find HIMD discs anywhere except a sony store when I looked. How much was dixons selling them for?? In my local sony store they have moved the HIMD's from out the back!?!! to behind the desk where you can actaully see them! A sign of increased sales maybe??
  21. Hi I dont think I can help, but for the benifit of other members can you list what equipment you are using so they can come up with some suggestions. Thanks, matt
  22. Many thanks ravnnet, have been waiting for this!
  23. 2GB blanks would encourage me to use PCM all the time lol
  24. Hi, from what I gather they will record in the same sound quality as they use the same codecs. But simpleburner does not have a "high" encode quality when ripping a cd unlike sonicstage. Matt
