  1. The black EH1 is still available, but it's just expensive. Around US$322, not including shipping from Japan.
  2. Good job. I do use the icons for my music-related files. Now, if some icons can be made from designer discs... some TDK BitClubs maybe... that would rock.
  3. Stuge really shouldn't be making fun of your 64 kbps preference - he did buy the Bose TriPorts at retail (or more) afterall. MDCF seems a little RH1-crazy lately. T-Board is less RH1-crazy, but more DH10P/NH3D- and definitely EH1-crazy.
  4. A pic of the lithium ion battery that I forgot to photograph:
  5. For starters, the EH1 is brushed aluminum and slimmer, no AA attachment, Li-ion battery, and has the 40ELK. Audiocubes has the EH50 in all 4 colors.
  6. Went to Wal-Mart and got more Sony Color Collection MDs. They are now $3 per 5-pack - down from $5, which was down from $10. The Sony Premium Gold MDs are now on sale for $5 per 5-pack.
  7. Wow, and that movie is pretty recent. She's got to be holding something Hi-MD. It's kind of thick and she's looking at it like she's reading a display on its front. Edit: Silver RH(9)10 maybe? The plug doesn't look as if she's using a remote with it though. Great find, yoda.
  8. Since it has the HD digital amp, one would think that it sounds similar to units with the HD digital amp, no? I can see this as being a good player for someone with the NH900 and RH(9)10 - gumstick; and the EH1 for people with NH1/NH3D/DH10P - lithium ion. The plastic body is kind of a turn-off for me, but the AA attachment is a reason I'd look into this unit. Since you have both the EH50 (plastic) and EH1 (slimmer but metal), which one "feels" heavier or is there no difference?
  9. Maybe MDCF/T-Board can now adopt a forum slogan similar to Head-Fi's "Sorry about your wallet."
  10. This is the last thing that I'll have to say about your LCD display, 3-line remote, and jog dial obsessions. By going by such strict requirements and nit-picky things as to what makes an ideal player/recorder, you are seriously depriving yourself. There are tons of great MD player-only and recorder units with 1-line display remotes - the entire Sharp Auvi line, for example. Perhaps it is a good thing that you are late in the game when it comes to minidisc. Out of all the Hi-MD units, your RH10 is what I'd consider to be the worst, no offense to other RH10 owners, of course. It's fat, scratches easily, difficult to see in bright light, sub-par mp3 playback, no HD digital amp, no legacy recording, and the AA attachment ruins the look. I'll end this by saying that your sour grapes about the RH1 is becoming more and more evident - you can't afford to have the RH1 so you might as well bash it without having even tried it. Peace. I'm done with this.
  11. You sure have a lot of exceptions. And here I thought only "great/acceptable players" have an LCD and jog dial, thus making the RH1 a unworthy player.

    Sharp IM-DR410

What program are you using to download to your DR410? Did you install the driver for the unit and then install SonicStage? For my Sharp DR80, I had to install the DR80 driver first and then install SonicStage (in that order). The DR410 driver should be available in the Downloads section of this forum. You'll love the Auvi sound. Good luck!
  13. lol RobA: I'm surprised you think highly of a unit like this, especially since it has no body LCD or jog dial. Cool! It'd be great to have another NH3Der out there. Looking forward to your pictorial of that UX90. I've only seen the UX50 in person and it's pretty neat. That UX90 is bigger, but looks even more amazing. I've only used the download button with SimpleBurner, as you said, just like other Sony downloaders. Whether or not it has another function, sorry, I have no idea - the user's manual is completely in Japanese. Maybe when Ishiyoshi gets his, he can tell you more. Thanks again for the comments, all. Hoping to keep the MD addiction alive and strong...
  14. Thanks, everyone. With Nismo already on-board, who's next? Ishiyoshi? Rich?

    Is it real?

The MDCF Equipment Browser says that the NH600D comes in blue, silver, and white. Who knows. Maybe white does exist, but is extremely rare. Kind of like the red DH10P (currently waiting on Ishiyoshi's pictorial) or the blue NH3D (pictorial just now came out) - you don't see those very often, if ever.
  16. Visit other forums like Head-Fi.org and iLounge.com and you'll see the same type of addiction. Except they seem to spend more money than we do.
  17. You are absolutely correct. On the NH3D, pressing the joystick inward once is "play" and pressing it again is "pause." The engraved symbols on the joystick are > (an arrow for play) and || (for pause).
  18. Thanks, Rich! That's what "study breaks" are for. And because Ishiyoshi requested it, I had to give it a good go.
  19. Sony Hi-MD Downloader: NH3D (a pictorial requested by Ishiyoshi) Camera: All pics were taken with a point-and-shoot Sony DSC-T7 and I'm not an expert photographer, so please excuse any blurriness. I took all pics during the day to keep the unit's color as true to life as possible. This unit is incredibly difficult to photograph due to its finish and color. A simple wrong angle or lighting will alter its color drastically - any color differences per pic will reflect that, so do NOT think that the unit is “changing” color. Unit: My NH3D is about 3 months old and was purchased brand new. The build and feel of the metal is like that of the Sony EH1 player. Although the NH3D looks similar to the NH1 (minus the inputs, outputs, LCD display), the metal of the NH3D feels thicker and heavier, more like aluminum rather than the lighter, magnesium body construction of the NH1. Since everyone else's pictorials have a pic of the Hi-MD logo: In its charging cradle: Comparison to other "blue" Sony MD units (pictured with the E720 player and NE810 downloader). As you can see, the blue of the NH3D is unique to that of the (turquoise) E720 and (dark blue) NE810. The finish of each unit is also different - brushed metal for the NH3D, smooth/polished metal for the E720, and a rough metal for the NE810. The nice thing about the NH3D is that upon first glance, it doesn't scream, "I'm a downloader." The "download" button is now subtly placed off to the side with the rest of the buttons as opposed to the huge download button area on the front of the NE810. Just a little bigger than a minidisc: Thickness is a little less than 3 MDs without their slipcovers: Comparing the NH3D and the NH1. Aside from the obvious differences, the Sony logo on the front is embossed on the NH1, but raised silver lettering on the NH3D. The charging cradles. Do they look the same to you? That's because they are and differ only in color. So, if you have an NH1 and are planning to get an NH3D, the cradles are interchangeable. The NH3D isn't the slimmest Hi-MD unit of all (that title is still reserved for the EH1, middle unit), but it is a little bit thinner (in some parts) than the NH1: What's in the box: The NH3D box is similar to that of the NH1. Because this unit was only available in Japan, all manuals and paperwork are in Japanese. There is some English in the user's manual, but not enough to know what the heck means what to a non-Japanese reader. Just in case there is any question about the power supply. I don't use this. I bought an adaptor from Radio Shack as the one supplied with the NH3D can't be used in the USA. And yes, it comes with the well-loved remote, the 40ELK. Other stuff - short USB cable, long USB cable, and the short-cord MDR-838 earphones. (It also comes with a LIP4WM lithion ion battery, but I forgot to take a pic of it.) If you felt the pics above haven't shown you enough, then here are some animated 360 views of the unit: Hope you enjoyed my pictorial and it prompts your interest in acquiring one. It's a rare unit, but certainly not that elusive. Proving there is life beyond silver and black.
  20. Yeah, I saw that and it's a decent deal. With shipping and taxes (to the USA), it comes to about US$196. No black, only silver.
  21. Just something to keep in mind - radio function is in the remote and not in the unit itself. By changing to a remote with a backlight, you're sacrificing your unit's radio function, which is the NHF800's claim to fame over its sibling unit, the NH700. Without a radio remote, your NHF800 is now basically a (radio-less) NH700. To keep the radio function, you'd need to use either the 37LT or 39LT, both of which aren't backlit, unfortunately. If losing the radio is not a big deal to you, then go for the remote change and enjoy the backlight. Good luck!
  22. The slightly more expensive E730 should (keyword: should, because this is subjective) actually give you better sound quality. The E730 has the HD digital amp (helps sound quality) while the E630 has the non-HD digital amp (helps battery life). Audiocubes states that the E630 has the HD digital amp, but this site is notorious for some errors. Here is a link to the forum's announcement of the E630/730 and it has translated press releases for both units from Sony. http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=5985
  23. This pre-order deal is old news, my friend, but congrats on your pair of RH1's.
  24. Welcome, Dr Vidiot. You may want to post in another area of this forum. The Feedback section isn't where you want to be. Try posting in the general Classifieds section or the MDLP/NetMD section. Good luck! Edit: But, I'll bump this up for you.
