  1. Yeah, but that is from the Special Edition 2002 TDK Bit Clubs. Extremely hard to find - I have yet to see that set for sale anywhere. Powerstation can also be found from the regular 2002 TDK Bit Clubs (set of 6, I think, and much easier to find), which included: Ishi's pictorial 2002 Bit Club - if you want to see them opened.
  2. 1) Gives great hope for the MD format, but I'm not much of a field recorder so I probably will not add it to my Hi-MD collection for now. My current units, NH1 and NH3D, serve me well at the moment. 3) http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=14703 (keywords: "digital amp," will give you lots of wonderful reviews on this forum) If you're thinking of getting an RH1, I doubt you'll be disappointed!
  3. Nice pics! Thanks for sharing. Good to see your E10s are both dent-free.
  4. Yeah, those Ebay sellers most likely got the units from the Aussies because they are selling the bundle contents (MD unit plus that bonus CD, 5-pack of 80 min discs, MD case, and microphone) in separate auctions. I hope the T-Board members who recently bought their DH10Ps from etronics (2 that I know of) see that thread! Hopefully, they will have better luck if they ever have to deal with their customer service.
  5. Which is why I suggested the RH10 as it is available now and thedonutman said he has been deprived of portable music and actively looking for a replacement unit for his N1.
  6. MZ-E10: 81.9 x 72.2 x 9.9 (width × height × depth)(mm) SJ-MJ97: 70.7 × 77.4 × 10.2 (width × height × depth)(mm)
  7. Have you tried looking here? There's a big list of them with descriptions, too. MD decks Good luck!
  8. A lot of forum members have the NH1 and RH10. Both are quite reliable. I've seen members with even 2 NH1s. Since you had the N1, you would like the NH1. But if you want a change from the full metal body, then try the RH10. Off the top of my head... (best if you did a search) Both can record from a mic and have the HD digital amp. RH10 can play native mp3; NH1 no. NH1 can record in true SP; RH10 no. RH10 has the OLED display; NH1 has a 1-line display. RH10 is bigger and has plastic; NH1 is made of brushed metal. RH10 (if non-Japanese model) will have a cheapy, non-LCD stick remote; NH1 has the MC40ELK. There's more differences, but a search would help you out better. Based on looks alone, I'd go for the NH1. Some say the to-be-released RH1 has taken styling cues from the NH1. But, if you're going to do a lot of live recording, then the OLED display of the RH10 would be best for you. As for Ebay, it's really buyer beware (if you're talking about getting it used). I think that people who buy these things first-hand would take really good care of them. But then again, you have to wonder why they are selling it. I've heard good things about etronics.com. I think they have the RH10. The NH1 is harder to find in e-tailer stores though (mostly sold-out, but audiocubes.com is selling it for A LOT). Good luck!
  9. I'd go with Ishiyoshi's 2nd recommendation. My N1 was never dropped and in mint condition, but still conked out. I'd get the "blankdisc" or "read error." It quit recording and eventually became inconsistent when playing discs. Contacted Sony and it would cost a little over $100 + shipping for repair (IF they're able to fix it) or around $200 for a replacement (refurbished N1 or "similar"). I sold mine to a friend who wanted to open it up and tinker with it. Go Hi-MD. The units are pretty affordable now and there are some good bundles for a decent price. Good luck!
  10. Yeah, I made sure on the amperage. The one I've shown has an AC 110-120V and DC 3-7.5V (2.0A). It's actually made for digital cameras. Someone in one of the forums suggested it for Japanese models. I bought it because my NH1 and NH3D came with the 100V Japanese adaptors and I didn't want to take a chance on using them in the US (I read a lot of threads on T-Board about this, some of which you posted in and helped me greatly ). I keep it on the 6V setting all the time and never use it for my 3V units because I use an external battery charger for them.
  11. Looks like you're trying to use one adapter for all your units instead of two. If that's the case, you can get a universal adapter. RadioShack has one: radioshack power adapter You can see in its technical specs that it can provide both 3V and 6V.
  12. You may have better luck with answers over at Head-Fi. Just don't tell them that you bought the Bose Triports.
  13. Wow. 33,000. Who is member #1? I've seen some usernames dating back to as early as 2002!
  14. If you can get a good deal on the RH10 in Asia, then I say go for it. My N1 went bad (lost recording function and playback was getting sketchy) and to replace (with refurb or "similar") or repair it (IF they could), according to Sony, would cost between $100-200. Soooo not worth it. Can the RH10 take the N1's remote? I'm not sure of this. If so, maybe you can get a Non-Japanese RH10 soon and use your N1's remote. But, since you'll be in Japan over the summer, you can try holding out for the release of the RH1, which I think is around June? Good luck!
  15. And I hope Ishiyoshi will dazzle us once again with his awesome pictorials.

    Orange RH10

You can try audiocubes.com. But, it's like $350 plus shipping. Good luck!
  17. Someone asked a similar question (about Hi-MD players though) and here was kurisu's reply:
  18. Stuge: My post wasn't directed at you. I'm just commenting that he has had successful sales and happy customers, despite the fact that he doesn't accept PayPal. So what doesn't work out for you has definitely worked out for other people. And I know you've seen my posts on T-Board about this seller, so I'm sure you already understand my feelings about buyer's safety.
  19. Looks like the no-PayPal isn't an issue for some buyers as he sold one pretty recently on Ebay for $300.00 AU ($220.86 US), not including shipping from Australia. However, I do warn interested buyers that the NH3D's manuals are both completely in Japanese and I haven't been able to find a version translated in English (I don't expect an English manual as this unit was mainly available in Japan). Also, you'll need a voltage converter - it comes with a Japanese AC adaptor. I prefer my blue over the silver, but it is a sleek unit in any case.

    Happy Holi

Maybe it's all that bhang he's been drinking.

    Happy Holi

Haha, but on the other hand, it is college and students can find plenty of ways around things like that. No wonder the drink tasted awful. Lol, kidding.
  22. Sounds just like the N1 I used to have. It worked completely fine as a player, but as for recording, it would basically wipe out the disc and it was unplayable with the N1 or another unit/deck. I contacted Sony (my warranty was up) and to get an exchange (with a refurbished N1 or "similar") was ~$200US while repair was ~$100US (IF they could repair it, according to the Sony guy I called). I ended up selling it to an engineering-major friend who wanted to tinker with it. It's a shame as my N1 was in mint condition.
  23. Ooops. I forgot to make a note that the quote isn't mine but from the post of kurisu. I also noticed a difference, but then again, I came from using an N505 for years.
