Have you used illegal aliens for any of the following:

- yard work and maintenance

- wash your car

- nanny/babysitter

- house work/construction

- fast food restaurants

- fruit/flowers from street corners.

If you have, you may be addicted to illegal immigration. I want to know what kinds of jobs/services you've used illegal aliens for. Also, please vote in the poll. Thanks.

i used an "illigal Immergrant" as a house keeper in Morrocco in 1963-64 for about a year; i think he was wanted for murder in Algeria!

i believe you, me, or anyone will "Get Away" with anything that the autorities "look the other Way" on!

i didn't vote cause it's a moral thing also; and don't know if you want a vote on moral issues or "the RIGHT thing".

late edit]] plus, what country are we talking about.

The only country that has a problem with illegal immigration, the U.S.

I think that is a very sweeping and generalized comment. We are not the only country with illegal immigrant issues.

Got to aggree with Rich here. Everyone has predjudice's whether they want to admit it or not, but there's no sense in discussing them as they just create tension. On topic, I will say that all those that are from other countries and do the jobs we think are too dirty for us, work very hard and deserve every penny they earn. Because of what alot of them have gone through, and from where they have come from they are alot more driven than many of us.

Sorry buddy. That's nothing compared to what's going on in America. We have 12 million illegals living here, and I'm convinced that number is low. It's probaby closer to 20 million. It's a drain on government services and costs us tax payers billions and billions of $$$ a year. If Europe had to spend the same amount of money on illegals, they would be broke.

I made no comment as to the extent of illegal immigration in the US. I am very aware of the situation since I can literally be in Mexico within 30 minutes. All I am saying is that your comment was very generalized and made it seem like we are the only country with problems.

well; i thought EVERYONE was out; like having a "Life"; it's Saturday; didn't think anyone was at their computers.

then , one controvercial (sp) thread; and EVERYONE is "On-Board"!

i have a reason for not having a life (my wife) lol.

this type of subjects used to plague the T-Board; and i admit i was a "Well organized Culprit"; but retires from that.

i don't mind the thread; just rather be an "on-looker" ; a reader; a breeder; and a seeder; but never a leaver!

lol Everyone? Only a small handful have replied to this and the replies aren't very involving, but more commentary-ish about the topic/initiator of this thread.

I'm online trying to find English service MD manuals, etc so I can re-learn how to use the 40ELK for my most recent unit purchase. If you start a thread on where I can get it, then I'll post more. :P Saturday life doesn't start until after dinner hours for me.

Edit: richyhu has graciously helped me out with the service manual and remote situation. :) Have a good Saturday, Ray, and keep those grandkids (lol and yourself) out of trouble.

i have to agree with ivan, yes the us has many problems with illegal imigration but so does europe. the continent of africa is both large & on the whole poor. if you' ve been to france, spain, italy or the UK & see the massive amounts of homeless & illegal africans just sleeping on the street.

i'm in australia so no, i've never employed an illegal alien. i'm going to leave this thread open but i will keep an eye on it you can be sure. i'm not sure of the motivation behind this but be aware that racism is not something we want or need here but economics [up to a point is fine]

OK; on the OK of atrain; who i trust; i will rant on "First Hand" info i have in hand.

my step-son has a tree service in the good side of the state; rich and affluent!

he has a TWO MAN operation; him and his illegal Mexican immigrant.

he uses him because he is cheap; works like a "Bull"; and never stops.

can't speak English; and doesn't want to; has a wife and kids in Mexico; and a girlfriend here.

supports all of them; i guess.

he is saving to build his and his wife's "Dream House" in Mexico. but at the wages he is making; he may as well make it a "DREAM".

i feel bad for the Mexican; he really works hard and is truly trying to better his life ((IN MEXICO)).

my step-son says he could never afford to hire American "Legals" to do the SAME amount of work; it would take three americans to do the same work and cost a TON more of money/pay.

i don't even think that he can take his wife here; not sure; and thus the need for a "Girlfriend"; like the US Gorvernment is responsible for his adultry.

if they would let his wife come here; he would still be a "Christian-illegal".

instead , he is a sneaking illegal; which i am sure is multiplied by the thousands; having babies; and calling them Americans.

except they won't say it in English; soooo , they want to change the US Language to Spanish; so us Americans cannot understand what they are saying in the McDonald's food line.

it is one big bad circle; or should i say "Black Hole" and like the Universe will some day have the "Big Band"; the US will someday have the "Big Bang Revolution.

now; where in my rant should i have stopped; and edited the rest out?

Sorry, no offense, but I can't take a thread like this seriously when it's coming from someone who posts "Do you know what corn means?"

That thread was just for fun and sorry if any of you founded offensive. But I never joke around about illegal immigration. I live in Los Angeles, which is becoming like Mexico City more and more each day. I'm speaking from experience.

There wouldn't be any illegal immigration labor without the demand for it.

More on topic: Between the choice of spending money to learn english, or support their families, I think it's pretty obvious what they will go for. Then again, I was able to learn english by watching Star Trek TNG and Disney's Gargoyles. So if I could, I wonder why they can't, either.

There's another side of that coin. Take for example one of my neighbors: They came to the US back in the Amnesty of 86. They had kids. The children do speak english like natives, but their parents want them to speak spanish too. Because A: It's going to help them in the future. And B: They don't want them to forget their roots, lest they find themselves without an identity, culturally speaking.

Illegal immigration is a lose lose situation. It is not fair to the immigrants; exploiting their plight to save some bucks and get richer. It is not fair to the naturalized citizens that have worked hard to get where they are today. I would be fair to blame the rich that exploit illegal labour.

Monday's boycott was nice. I was able to go to Mc Donald's and have someone understand me and I understand them.(Joking).

I am a son of a LEGAL IMMIGRANT!!!!! The Chinese have had it the hardest to immigrate to America. Up til the 1960's there were laws to limit the amount of Chinese to come to the USA. Every nationality has had restrictions but not like the Chinese.

Most of us here are not monied so this question is moot.

I am not of fan of illegal immigration but, really the USA took lands from Mexico (about half of Mexico) on a illegal premise. (This not up for debate! If you have arguements; argue with a history book!) If you think of it, America's Wealth derive from the Natural Resources stolen form Mexico. America would not be the World power that it is today if it wasn't for the Natural resouces of the American SouthWest. So immigrants are only taking back what was stolen from them in the first place at the expense of the American TAXPAYER!!!!!

I see Illegal Immigration as a perpetuating condition. If this tread continues America will become a EXTENSION of MEXICO!!! Many people immigrated here legally and made this Nation what it is. Other immigrants made Sacrifices and Intergrated themselves to America and other immigrants!!!! Other immigrants contributed to Society. They did not leach off Society. They adapted and learn to speak ENGLISH!!!!! They still have kepted their heritage and not forced their heritage on others. It is a shame that American has given in to the culture to ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS!!!! America has to change to kiss the A** of people that shouldn't be here in the first place.

Many will say they do the jobs noone else will do. BUSH!!! When I was going up as a teenager I did many of these jobs so I could pay for a car and save for college. Teenagers used to do many of these jobs.

I could go on all day about this but what's the point?

I only wish that they spoke English!!!! My father learn English and when asked to go to Chinese School. He said if you want to work in a kitchen or do laundry for a living speak all the Chinese you want; but if you want to make some of yourself you'ld better speak English and speak it well. In short if you want to be a second class citizen don't learn to speak English.

It is not fair to Illgals because they will never make enough to get ahead. Generation after generation nothing will change.

Whats wrong with it becoming like mexico, or that people use other languages other than english? Or as close to english as you get in US. ;) Unless you are a native American indian theres an immigrant in your family somewhere. I'm not in the US, but Ireland and we are flooded by immigrants illegal and legal. We can't really complain though as we exported people all over the world in the past. Once theres a disparity in wealth/living conditions or conflict between two places, you will always get movement of people.

If you want a serious discussion on the issue, you should break down the pros and cons of illegal immigration. I don't get the point of your "have you ever used" list. You could use a similar argument about drugs, oil, slave labour products that people use, without consideration of the issues there consumption causes either.
