If one wants to get his first Deck of the QS Series and wants to get the best sounding one -> it is indeed the JB930. Because of what? The 930 offers natively the best sound with SP when simply connected to an analog amplifier. So what do you think how much Oversampling is done in the JB930´s DAC ? I assume its up to the Level of an JA555.That would be 128x.. Iam not sure its got the same IC but it would be possible. I know there are for sure better DAC´s in some devices but not everyone has his PC next to his Stereo or uses a Dolby Receiver. Regarding that it´s simple that the 930 pwns the other 900 Qs Decks Considering point a Stephen said both Decks are equa ( with a slight remote advantage for the 930) l but point b the 930 plays better. Last but not least is the price one has to pay. Afaik the 980 Decks are higher priced. that is my assumption of criteria which one is better :-) correct me if iam wrong.

Thx for that Link. I still have 2 new sets of those pressit labels and didn´t use them. Is it easy to create the front labels ? I mean those small ones on the edge. I would like them to be like the cd is for example but that´s hard to do, isn´t it ?

I can´t imagine these are bad discs. I´ve ever had 1 disc that broke.. among 2000. I would suppose it is thje redorder at first.. The only ones that are knownto me to have issues are the maxell with plastic shutter.And that effects only the disc ejection afaik. Do you own a 2nd recorder to test with ? I´ll have a look at bthese discs and test by myself with different recorders asap. greetings

No it is not. Minidisc.org is wrong this time. The only QS Decks that had Current Pulse were the JB920 and the JB930. You may imagine i do own a JB930 for exactly that reason.OK i do own a JB980 too but that is for NetMd reasons. I listen and record SP only with the JB930

I was talking about the 900 QS Series only as he asked about these ;-) Therefore the MDS-JB930 is the best One.

I see the being sold for about 250-300€ at the moment. I don´t think there were those people who bought them off and are going to sell them for that cause. This is more like people are passing their devices away because of getting into a new format of audio i think. The prices are reasonable though. If that wasn´t such a big amount i would probably import some discs for you.But not that many In case you are going to buy a RH1 i wish you good luck and a grab a good one too. ps: you were right the JB930 can´t import those either rather than playing them in real time.

First of all.. - you need an MZ-RH1 to transfer files from Md to Pc. No other Recorder hast that feature. - there is no MDS-JB960. there were only the MOdels with 920/930/940/980. The best one is the JB930 as it has Current Pulse and Type-R If you really want to transfer 350 SP minidiscs to your Laptop then you need to be patient when doing this with your MZ-N1. You can only play them back ( remember to set the N1 to line out) and record them through your Laptops line in. 350 x 74 minutes = 25.900 minutes = 431,66 hours. That is massive Cds can be transferred faster.. choose a programm u like. I suggest you would use SonicStage along with a RH1 to import SP discs . but RH1´s are expensive...

My DR580 was barely cracked at the same point.I was able to fix that with super glue. I know of others that had problems with cracked battery doors with that unit. Maybe its not that quality ? Coould it be that cracked part is still inside the unit?? If it doesn´t and you can´t fix the unit -> i need a spare docking station for mine, as it got lost. Are you willing to trade or sell these? Where are you located ?

or the belt is cracked. does it make sounds ? like the motor is spinning ?

you use the laser to have upload.No need to write something on the disc then. But that´s an interesting question if it wears out.

we´re talkling about transfering SP to a net md. these trtacks have to be imported first from a RH1 to the library. Then you coould transfer them back in SP to a netmd devide. but iam not sure if this has been implented till now.. iam reading about this atm.

i think we can.but iam not into this linux python thing.Somebody correct me if iam wrong. Afaik Qhimd will be supporting netmd soon too. But if SP will be supported.. idk.

HI i got another blank IM-DR580 in black. The seller tried to convince me there was never a charger or something like the dock that came along with it. So what finally happend is i got 2 complete ones blk and grey and one is still waiting for its dock. SO i would gladly take another dock in black is someone is coming up with a 2nd one. greetz

i didn´t have time to test one more time. Did you set the Control A1 to A1 II? The Changer , we´re talking about the one that does play mp3 too ? , can be set up to both Control A1 I and A1 II . Mine was bought in Germany and so was my JB930. so this won´t be a language problem. As far as my experience goes i never managed to burn a cd with sonic stage that DOES have cd text. It also shouldn´t make a difference what soft is used as cd-text is a standard code. I´m going to look after this once more this evening. greetz

it don´t matter what app you use to burn. btw i recommend burrrn free and does replay gain. There is , for whatever reasons, a copy protection that gets written with the text. Nevertheless i know that a MDX3 and so on can do the job with the same source disc. I gave up trying. I figured out that the oplder JB920 gets me a message " text protected" while the JB930 doesn´t. That´s what i meant by saying it acts like its not connected properly. Iam not sure but i read somewhere that the copy protection didn´t came along right from the start when cd-text was released. SO it would be a try to get an older cd for testing purposes. I´ll give it another try if i find any old sony music cd.

Funny I got the same 400 disc changer and i expereienced the same thing.I tried that on the JB920 too and it showed up with "text protected" The JB930 don´t display anything.Just as if there was no cable attached. Remember to set the correct A1 on the Cd changer by entering the Menu. I tried all possible ways and it doesn´t work at all.Could it be that it´s simply some kind of copy protection ? I once read about that..but i don´t remember correctly.

damn i never got one of those new.Only the 2nd edition. Had there been special storage racks for these cases ? are you going to sell them in the forum ?

are you using Md Data discs or normal blanks? I guess you tried to use it with normal blanks , right?

I can´t imagine that would upgrade the sound.isn´t the optical or digital bit by bit the best transfer ? Its nothing else on the combo decks i would assume

but you can edit with the rm-d10e too. By pressing the mennu key you can select that just as with the original remote.it is the same procedure.. @ dannyspynovels try to use contact cleaner spray on that jog.That should fix it. If not.. well.. you tried at least

The remote will work.There are buttons mising like filter and something like that. not a big thing.. oh yea and the numbers 11-25 are missing i think. I think you have an advantage with that remote as far as i remember it gets high prices on ebay.This remote is for the JB980 and JE480 for example .. Try to sell it and grab the right one at a cheaper price ?

Hi why not just use the "divide" to cut tracks? That´s not a big deal as you can edit this in very small steps with the jog lever on the Deck or remote. The whole PCLK thing is hard to find and expensive. All you have to do is divide and delete the other tracks.I miss the track mark button by myself but if you first got into the Decks features it is an easy thing. I hope this helps out a bit
