whether or not the price tag justifies the improvement is up to the user to decide...it is indeed a big improvement over the stock standard earbuds that they give you but whether or not they are worth the $100 upgrade depends on what the user defines as a $100 improvement...i'm happy with My E888's and EX71's...both are a major upgrade than the E805's and E838's that came with my N1 and N10 units respectively...

Aiwa did use to have Backlit LCD's on the main unit and they were blue...this was from the F70-F90 when they stopped using it coz it fell under Sony management and yeh everything from there went Sony's way...>.< but otherwise there aren't many MD units with backlit LCD on the main unit...the remote u can buy from most online retailers but whether it works properly on the unit that u've specified is another matter (it should work)...
-
yep i agree...u could use a program such as Adobe Audition for more advanced audio ripping and editing...
-
basically the screws that u can see on the top cover u take out and take it off slowly...i just checked to see what was jamming up the switch and then with the cover off it should either eject or u can maually eject it by dislodging wotever it is that's screwing with the eject mechanism...and then put everything back together and all should be good...that's how it was when i fixed the eject mechanism on the R900...

try playing the songs first in OpenMG/SonicStage before you transfer to make sure that it can play...(i.e. sound comes out) if not then try playing the mp3 from the directory it's placed in with OpenMG/SonicStage and see if it can play..if not use Lame to convert to a wav file and then import and transfer...this works most of the time...since it's either OpenMG/SonicStage can't read your mp3's or the encoding process went wrong somewhere if the original mp3 plays in OpenMG/SonicStage but the encoded ATRAC3 file doesn't...
-
i prefer Lame as well...basically the best encoder out there...

Moving/Deleting files on an MD
mAjEsTiC replied to Blackie_Chan's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
i think the structure would kinda look like : original recording : A B C D after delete : A D record new files : A D B C -
yup...if done by OPTIC (TOSLink) OUT from the DVD player -> MD then u can only record in real-time...
-
in terms of sound quality yes...i would say that it would sound better...
-
have you tried to transfer to a new blank MD to see if that works??? or u'v already tried it 2 no avail as well???
-
i kno of ppl who have an 80gb hdd and still like to d/l 320kbps mp3's whenever possible...and from that msg i don't see that hdd space is an issue for u...so y not make advantage of higher bitrates??? just a suggestion...
-
just adding on to what NRen2k5 was saying above...so long as your DVD player can read DVD-R's then it shouldn't b a problem i wouldn't think (since i know that DVD players can read mp3 CD's...but not too sure about mp3 DVD's...)...PS2 i can't say since you have a modded unit to read burnt CD's/DVD's...

PC to MD, why does it say that my MD is full when it's not?
mAjEsTiC replied to marshallamps123's topic in Minidisc
it's the software...try re-installing the driver again and c if that clears up the problem...if not do a re-install of SonicStage over the top of the current one and see if that fixes anything... -
no the units below the N910 in the NetMD range do NOT come with backlit remotes as std from Sony (info from Sony Japan)...the only units that carry a backlit remote as standard are the flagship portable recorders...i.e. the N910/N10 for the NetMD recorders and the E10/E510/E610/E710/E810/E620/E720 for players...
-
u can take off the top cover (with the LCD screen) and gently eject it that way...that's how i managed to get a disc out of a R900 when it got lodged inside...and re the battery while recording...this is meant to happen, it's normal...recording zaps more juice than playback easily since u need the magnetic head to change the info on the MD as well as the optic lens heating it up past curie pt...both of this needs more power than an optic lens that just reads the info on the MD...
-
try ripping the track onto your PC and use Nero Wave Editor or Adobe Audition or any other program that allows you to copy the sound signature from the left channel to the right channel and then record it on tape...easiest way i know of to make a "stereo" (be able to hear through both channels) track through a mono recording...
-
with analogue you have to adjust the recording levels manually to suit your needs if you want to get the best results...if u set it to Auto it's ok but it's better if you change the recording levels manually urself...
-
sorry i was refering to turning up the volume to full on the computer since i have a seperate volume control for the digital out for some odd reason...but yes as KJ_Palmer said above try and stick to SP...and if you're using an optic cable and the recording is still very quiet i think that it's the source that you're recording from itself that is at fault...u can c thru the levels when sync recording how loud the track is...it should be past half way but less than full...
-
did u check that the volume from the source as also up full??? because this would make a big difference...it's not normal for the volume to be so low unless it is from the actual source that you recorded from...and no don't try and record music in LP4...mite save space but the quality leaves something to be desired...
-
from wot i kno i don't think this is possible...to transfer the files onto MD it basically goes by the time it goes 4 and not the size of the music file...i think regardless of the way you encode it an mp3 encoded at 96kbps and the same one at 192kbps would take up the same amount of space on the MD if you transfer it over at say LP2...
-
TOSLink out...similar to the plugs used on Optic outputs on the discmans that have this feature...and basically the same as the white jack on the MD except it outputs instead of inputs...(gives out a bright light)
-
~ RealOne Player can be d/l throug Real Networks ~ OpnMG/SonicStage basically come with the unit...if not it can be found here ~ Nero+SimpleBurner trick u can read up on it here
-
it should be called Creative Recorder...it's in the pack...otherwise you can d/l it from their website or alt u can use a program such as Adobe Audition or something similar to record from it as well...
-
actually transfer of SP through NetMD is not possible...it isn't "true" SP but rather a "phantom LP2 track"...i.e. a higher encoded ATRAC3 format that is recognised by the unit as an SP track...i think that's the pt that NRen2k5 is trying to get at there...
-
that's my thought...not too sure on how it holds in the real world...
