Excellent, pinned. Welcome to the forums and the format, as well.

I would call Sony and demand that you get a new remote. They will probably try and push a refurbished one on you at this point, but if you cite your previous woes and their attempt to fix it, along with your continued frustration, they should cater to you. I've gotten out-of-warranty units repaired by pushing the right social buttons whilst speaking to the "support" there.

Help transferring music from Puretracks to Sonic Stage!
Christopher replied to carolyn2u's topic in Software
Welcome, carolyn2u! What unit is this? Can you give a specific model number? I would also advise using the latest version of Sonicstage, v3.3. -
What's the highest bitrate you guys have seen on here?

Format's demise leads to Australia facing massive Minidisc liquidation.
Christopher replied to Christopher's topic in News
Depends on how you employ it. I think that there was a time before HDD units that MD player only units made sense, but now such an ideal is fleeting. I could justify one scenario amongst a few, and that's if I was a live recording afficiando I could sample my recordings on the go (especially using a unit such as the EH70 and it's enhanced PCM playback time). -
I still have yet to purchase the blue Hi-MD disc. Unfortunately, I live in an area that has nothing related to Hi-MD in retail stores. Perhaps next time your there d, you can ask how well such has been selling.

Excellent pictures and review, Mikami!! It's good to see you back, as always. It's really interesting to hear how this unit has sold well in Japan, and I can understand why considering the playback times for PCM. I think Sony messed up a bit by not catering to MP3, considering their latest Walkman (hdd unit) can do atrac, wma, mp3, etc. Nonetheless, this unit has some of the best battery figures in certain areas and would be very interesting to have. I'll see what I can do about getting this mentioned on the front page! We encourage all members to share such exclusive reviews through us.

Damn, I really have to get something here before the stock dries up. But which unit.. Hm, NH1.. Too bad you don't have any player-only units. -
You know, that's pretty odd, as I have the same problem as well -- it's only in the left ear where I have fitting problems. The right ear stays secure most of the time. How could Sony make such a critical error?
-
SD is pretty strong these days. I think it's more popular than MD has ever been, but we just haven't seen it in the applications MD is integrated into. Would I consider this to be a real healthy topic, comparing flash cards to optical media? No, because one is irrelevant and the other is blooming, and their two completely different physical medias anyways.
-
It's probably just the player itself. You can try reinstalling and then installing the latest updates, but I'm not sure how well that will work. I have heard through my sources that Connect Player updates will come in troves. Seems like the UK is beta-testing the software.

Slashdot reports that a class action suit against Sony in California alleges that Sony's copy-protected audio CDs violate several California statutes, including the "Consumer Legal Remedies Act" and the "Consumer Protection against Computer Spyware Act," which prohibits -- among other things -- software that takes control over the user's computer or misrepresents the user's ability or right to uninstall the program. Earlier, Mark Russinovich investigated Sony's self-installing CD protection software and found it to be akin to spyware, intentionally hiding itself and providing no means of removal. Sony later released an uninstaller, but Mark has has looked at it and finds "Without exaggeration I can say I've analyzed virulent forms of spyware/adware that provide more straightforward means of uninstall". Attention Sony Electronics -- would anything bad actually happen if you just jettisoned Sony Entertainment?

Percussive's error was a bit different. Regardless, try now.

Wow, a free cradle and charger, that's crazy. They must have alot of excess stock.

NEW: Sony Hi-MD Walkman Players - MZ-EH70 and MZ-EH50
Christopher replied to betamaxDATminidisc's topic in News
I don't think it was ever said that MD was completely dead, but more or less slowly becoming a Japanese-only format that will probably follow limited distribution levels like cassette -- maybe. It's excellent to hear that it's selling so well, regardless. -

This is extremely disappointing, to say the least. I don't think Sony realizes how badly this reflects on them -- that NPR interview is stunning.

Looks good, theblueraja. Tartan, your wallpapers are amusing -- I'm not really sure what to say about them. I like the treehouse though, and I always toyed with the idea that if I became a millionare I would have some elaborate tree fort for my kids.

Welcome. I apologize, but we must redirect you to our sister forum, ATRACLife Colloquium, for this query. Thank you for your understanding.

What's your equalizer set at?
Christopher replied to sonic_rage's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
Good point. I employ EX81's primarily, but I think I'm entering a phase where headphones aren't agreeable with me anymore; I've been finding myself listening to my computer speaker setup alot as of late. I don't even mess with the EQ in fb2k, too much tweaking can be done in that program and it becomes incessant.
