  1. Where does the portable subwoofer plug in? Thanks for the post, nice looking amp Bob
  2. If you get the RH1 or any of the M series you can digitaly upload to macs (just the stuff you have recorded). Would be quicker than real time as well HTH Bob
  3. You HAVE to be more specific, ehat does it do or not do. What version are you using, what MD unit do you have? Are you trying to upload with a non Hi-MD unit? Are you trying to "Drag and Drop"? There are many of us here who have no problems with SS. If you go through the forum there may possibly be answers to your dilemna, try PM'ing one of the mods with a less inflamatoring attitude, and work with us. Good luck, Bob
  4. Try PM'ing Greenmachine, his battery box may help you, Good luck, Bob
  5. pretty cool, haven't figured it out yet, but I think I'm on the track. Bob
  6. Your ears are the final judge, if you like the "sound" of simple burner, and don't need the songs stored on your computer, go with simple burner. Try different bitrates as well and playback at random, you might be surprised. Good luck, Bob
  7. Just got two by the Firesign Theater, I Think We're All Bozo's on This Bus, and Don't Crush That Dwarf, Hand Me the Pliers, both classic radio style comedy from the 70's TTFN Bob
  8. You would also do well to get a Hi-MD unit, some good prices on the older ones, or really treat yourself and get an RH1, you will really like the format then Bob
  9. The biggest drawback is that they aren't made anymore, although media etc should not be a problem. They are a little bigger and more complex than MD, but have a proven track record. With the RH1 and M series you can digitaly upload to your puter but with DAT it would have to be realtime, or very slightly faster and unless you have an optical input it would have to be uploaded analog versus digital. There may be some bargains out there relatively speaking as DAT was high priced to begin with, so dollar for dollar I would still go MD, but if a reasonably priced DAT deck came my way I wouldn't turn it down. Happy Hunting Bob
  10. you really will not notice any real loss. There may be some minor issues, but if you keep close to the bitrate of the MP3 you shoudn't notice much difference. The main thing to remeber is that MP3 is not a fidelity format, but a space saving format. You will achieve best results if you can use source material, but I do have a few MP3's listened on my NH1, and am relatively satisfied, but again for critical listening some losse may be noticed. Best advice, record the same MP3 at different Atrac rates and see what you like. Bob
  11. hi there, reading the forums would be a start, but any of the M serires of recorders would work for you as well as the RH1. They all have Mac capabi;ity, but again browse the forum, there are many answers to your questions buried within. Good luck and let us know what you choose. Welcome Bob
  12. If I were me I would just take the slider off and try it without, if it is just a one time, and you are uploading it should work. JMHO Bob
  13. dig a small hole!! ha ha realistically the cables should be checked to make sure the ground shielding is not seperated. As well check the outlet you are connected to to make sure that it is proper voltage and grounded as well, sometimes the wiring behind the plug can be problomatic. Good luck, Bob
  14. Can you burn the tracks to an audio CD and then use simple burner to put them on your unit? Usually works for difficult tracks. Good luck, Bob
  15. Looks like 43,000 coming soon, and also looks like we will have our 100,000 post soon, prize for #100,000?? TTFN Bob
  16. Must be immensly difficult in Japanese, hard enough to watch, what do you get when you get it right, other than having your cahones intact!!! ROTF Bob
  17. Sony used a couple of different pin configurations, so, if the pin configuration is the same it will fit, and some of the functions will work, I do know it works on my MZ-N707 Bob
  18. Welcome, tell us about yourself, do you have any MD equipement? Bob
  19. QUOTE(GregTheRotter @ Aug 15 2006, 11:02 AM) * 1 X Western Digital SATA 10K 74gb hdd @ £115 or $207 Yeh, lets compete, I got a 120GB internal hard drive for my laptop (WD) yesterday. laugh.gif Linux woulden't connect to the web so about 3-4 hours of trying to get it to work I will just stick to windows! mad.gif anyway, could be worse. I just got a Western Digital Caviar 250 GB HD, lesst than $80.00 CI, about $100 USD, will try an install tonight, do some transfering, and try to get my SUSE Linux up and at em. Bob
  20. Happy Birthday Daniel and Shion, live long and prosper, Bob
  21. Your best bet is to go Hi-MD, the RH1 will do everything you want it to do, it will use MP3's natively, you can record/download PCM or different bitrates, you can use your regular discs as well as the HI-MD discs, as well as upload your legacy discs back to the puter, which you CANNOT do with Net-MD. Do yourself a really big favour and completely browse this forum in all categories, and approach it with an open mind. There is a wealth of knowledge and help here, but My siggestion is get an RH1, you won't regret it. Bob
  22. ROWAN TREE (the Sensitivity) - full of charm, cheerful, gifted without egoism, likes to draw attention, loves life, motion, unrest, and even complications, is both dependent and independent, good taste, artistic, passionate, emotional, good company, does not forgive. Must be a mirror Most seems to fit, even my wife and kids seem to fit, very neet, do you mind if I pass it on Stuge? TTFN Bob
  23. Try using the discs without formatting, just set it to the type of recording you want. In years I don't think I have ever formatted a MD. Try the suggestion of a new battery or run it off a/c as well, see if it makes a difference, but just try using the disc. Bob
  24. My Canon had a viewfinder and it wasn't DSLR, but for most uses the screen is ok, hit and miss in dark rooms though, otherwise pretty nice little camera. Thanks for the tip though, Bob
