Just found a neet site today http://www.musicovery.com/ site is in french, but easy to navigate on, you just enter your criteria for music (electronic, soul, disco, etc) and a tree of artists and songs come up, you can even listen to songs, lots of fun Take care, bob

Have a great day greenmachine, if you can make it to the coffee shop a cappucino on the house, Take care, Bob
-
Every one's hearing is different, easiest way is to transfer one song at various bitrates ans see if you are comfortable with the results, best way is to put the playback in shuffle mode and see if you "really" can tell the difference. Have fun Bob

Hi from down here as well Ray, good to hear from you, glad all is semi well for you, enjoy life and happy birthday, Bob
-
The only problem is when they are reformatted all the music will be lost. Wouldn't it be easier to just record them in net mode to begin with? Take care, Bob

Just a thought, is the battery switch on the back of the unit off by any chance?? Good luck, Bob

Thanks for the pictorial, beautiful unit, hope it gives you much enjoyment TTFN Bob

It's generally accepted that you do minimal to no editing on the unit before upload, then edit on the computer. What version of Sonic Stage are you running, should be minimum 3.4, 3.4 is better. and 4.o has just been released. Good luck, Bob

There you go again on the player aspect. What did you do with a casette walkman, no information at all. Again, of course the RH1 is an excellent plaer, as is the NH1. The amount of time you spend looking at the siplay or the remote is minimal. Most people either listen strait through, or put it in shuffle. With either remote it takes less time to find a song that it did to type this sentence. There are alternatives to "jog dial", it just takes getting used to your unit and using it. Again to all The RH1 can play as well as record. Bob
-
If you get a first generation or RH1 you can legacy record on the unit, or with second generation, you can legacy record with sonic stage, and the still have new music for your car deck. All of them will allow you also to record mp3's as well. Again good luck with a choice Bob

About your only real option is to real time record through your soundcard. Oh well, Bob
-
I would still recommend the 700 or 800 as cost is reasonable, you can use the discs you have, discs are sheap if you need more, and you can record from pretty well any source you have. good luck in whatever your choice is. Bob

Hi I concur with greenmachine that at minimum one the first generation models he listed would be your best bet, what with warranty, and the ability to upload your recordings. If you can put together some extra cas, the RG1 is the one to shoot for, but you won't go wrong with a 700 or 800. Good luck, Bob

Hi There, Go for broke and get a HiMD unit, you can record through USB or realtime if you really want, a CD in Simple Burner takes 5 to 10 minutes. Try HiMD, you will like it. Take care, and good luck, Bob
-
Unfortunately your unit has died, there is a small ribbom connector to your units read record heads, and the wires inside have broken, a good elctronics shop may be able to fix it, but for what it costs, you might as well get a Hi-MD unit, some of the "low end" units can be quite reasonably priced. Good luck, Bob

As far as I know there is no "on-off" switch. You shouls just be able to press stop, and once the unit has realized that the nusic's over, it should shut itself off. My NH1 takes a few seconds dor all this to happen, same as the 707. If it's still staying on thy taking the battery and dic out for aboua minute or so, then see what happens. Good luck, Bob

Hi Greg, I've got XP-Pro on my IBM 1.5 GHZ, 512 MB etc etc, no service packs, marginal support from ososoft, for what you need the media edition may be what you want. Personally if I was rebuilding I would large hard drive or two, and run windoze on one, and Linux on the other. Did have a seperate hard drive with Suse Linux 8.1 until the hard drive died, worked quite well, recognized my 707, never had a chance to try it with the NH1, but I think with VMware SS could be made to work. Unfortunately for most applications you need some sort of windoze installed, XP=Pro works for me with it's extra features, but I'm intrigued by the media edition. Good luck, Bob
