http://www.mdcenter.nl/artikelen/mzrh1/batterypack.php Just got this link a couple of days ago from the dutch minidisc site, translation link didn't work, but babelfish did a credible job of translating. seems to have most of what has been said here, but thought I'd post it anyways. TTFN Bob

MZ-NH1 and his friends to enjoy FULL Hi-MD potential
bobt replied to Asia's topic in Product Reviews/Pictorials
Thanks for the pictures, nice options, Bob -
Let your ears be your guide, record a few songs yourself, then playback on shuffle, if you can't tell the difference, go with the lower bitrate. Most will agree though that LP4 is not true fidelity, but if you are recording low bitrate MP3's it shouldn't matter. Let us know what YOU think, Bob

Best wishes jaylen have a good one, Bob
-
Are you sure the battery is in the right way around, and that the contacts are clean> It doesn't take much to give the connections a high resistance. Good luck, Bob
-
Put disc in, plug in headphones/remote, press play, enjoy, tell us about itBob

Definately good lookers all of them, id they could only start producing Hi-MD, would be even betterm Bob

Ideally you get the most efficient power transfer matching impedence. Theoretically if you go to a slightly lower impedence you may get a little more volume at the risk of damaging the output stage. Higher impedence won't hurt, but you won't get the volume. You're best bet is to stick with similar impedence, and try to get a more efficient headphone. Good luck Bob

You have two options, you can use sonicstsge to transfer, or you can write the MP3's to an audio cd and use simple burner to put them on MD. You will also have to watch your 707 if it ever stops recording, it means your wires to the write head have broken, when this happens do not put another disc in the unit as it will randomly erase discs. As to formats don't worry about it, MP3 is not a fidelity format, just get them on disc. HTH Bob

But I'm sure they are way more expensive than a minidisc, and less capacity Bob
-
Don't know if it will work, but can you write the files to an audio CD, and then simple burn it to MD, few more steps, but might work!! Bob

Carrying case for new RH1 & accessories
bobt replied to smkranz's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
I've used a variety of Kipling bags for camcorder and MD, as well as shoulder bags and back packs. Some of the bigger ones are sei-ridgid, worth a try Kirks down here in Cayman carries them, don't know about the rest of the world $.02 Bob -
Have a great one Sebastien and thei, it's your day Bob

I've had wierd startups recently, seems to be memory related, as well as connector related , ie: if I take my memry out, clean the contacts and reinstall it usually works, if it doesn;t, I unplug my HD commector, and the connector on the MB it starts, worth a try Greg. Other thing, try a scandisk at startup, you could be havin a boot sector problem. Good luck, and hope it works soon, Bob

Try going up to 3.4 or 4.0. What kind of MD do you have, and what kind of computers, if the second one is low spec it may not work. But still upgrading SS should help you. Bob
-
Try a few recoerdings of the same song at different bitrates, the listen to them with good headphones on shuffle mode and see if you really can tell the difference. Enjoy, Bob
-
I would go for 4.0, but do not think you need SP2, try it first and see what happens, I have very few selected upgrade on my XPpro setup, and have never had a problem Good kuck with yours, and welcome, Bob

drool drool. really want one now, Thanx 4 the pix, Bob
-
My understanding is that you can upload in WAV, let's here it from thr RH1 owners. Bob
-
As the unit recognizes all the formats, it shoudn't matter how the disc is formatted. When you go for a new recording you have the option to go which way your heart desires. Bob
-
Took 18 days, not bad, as well, welcome to all Bob
-
Nice to see it "live", now I really want one, ( RH1will do in a pinch ha ha ) Bob

As Well, if it can record something, it can play it back. I Think !! Bob
