Sorry, but that won't work. SonicStage will not play the music through the computer if it's a regular disc recorded on true SP or NetMD mode. The sound will be heard through the Hi-MD headphone out.
-
Not to start a flame war, but why I have never had a problem with Memorex Minidiscs? Sure, some of them got dirty or scratched, but it was my own fault in that case.
-
In favor of the online music stores, I had bad luck when it came to finding the music I wanted on CD. It was only through MusicMatch on Demand that I got Lee Ann Womack's "I Hope you dance" without Sons of The Desert on the background. And don't get me started on Fool's Garden "Yellow Lemon Tree" (Thank you, allofmp3.com) DRM? What's that? I don't think my system knows that word.

Hey, Eiku, sorry for asking this question instead of offering any advice. (Not like I have any, sorry.) Where's that signature quote from? Wolf's Rain, by any chance?

I would suggest getting a MD deck with optical out, plugging that in to a Hi-MD unit that has input, (record in the flavor of your choice), and upload it from the HiMD to your PC. And then use Marcnet's Hi-MD renderer to convert to the format of your choice.
-
It sounds to me like the writing block in your unit is busted. Try making another recording, and if it gives you the same results, then the unit is faulty.
-
Also, try to make sure you are not using any codec packs, specially FDDshow. Those can drive SS bananas.
-
Unless it's Realplayer, no. Try SS 3.0 or 3.1. It has never given me any problems.
-
Wow. What kind of battery are you using? I don't think I can get to even half that with my 1200 mAh battery right now.
-
I have to differ on this. My NHF 800 hasn't given me any problems so far. I know about the Hi-LP editing bug, but I don't use anything less than Hi-SP or PCM.
-
How about cannibalizing a backlit remote from another MD unit, like the Casio's XG 3?
-
Erm, I thought you cannot upload from MD to the Computer if you are using LP2. Only Hi-LP, Hi-SP and PCM are supposed to do that.
-
I can't understand how Sony, who bombarded us with lots of advertisement for the PS1 back in 95, and for FF7, can't get the idea that they need to run a freaking 15 sec spot on TV to tell people about MD. I wonder what it would have been of the PS2 with that kind of mentality. Maybe we need to start a hoax that Hi-MD can be used to guide missiles, the way they did with the system.

Free shipping in the US. Bump.

Jet Audio. That will convert WAV <=> WMA. But to convert to MP3 you need to register. If you got nero, you can get the WMA plugin to convert them with Nero Wave Editor. From the sound of it, WMP is tagging your songs with Digital Rights (snort*) management crud. Try unchecking that option in the tools menu of WMP.

Since the sharp recorder is an old-style MD, I can only use True SP @ 292.

Digital Realtime Upload Problem
Syrius replied to greenmachine's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
If you have a DVD player, pop a CD in and connect it to the converter. Don't use a DVD as it has SCMS. -
May I suggest you close as many other applications that you have running on the background? SonicStage is a resource hog.
-
Got the latest direct X, too? I think SS needs it.
-
It just won't work. We would have found out long ago if it did.
-
Got any codec packs installed on your system? That sometimes drives SS crazy.
-
Sounds like a bad write block. Try making a recording through the line-in jack, and if it gives you the same problem, then it's the unit the one that's going bad. Keep in mind these are high-precision electronics, and are subject to wear and tear.
-
So far I have had ZERO, yup, ZERO problems with SonicStage 3.0. It has only coughed twice with some music when uploading, but this is due to dirty or scratched discs, and it doesn't trash the other tracks when it encounters a faulty one, nor marks them uploaded. It seems to me that Sony finally got it right. No problems due to DRM here. *winks*

Yes you can. I have recorded some of the songs I have rented from Napster on my Sharp SR 60 using my USB-to-optical converter. I dont' think there's anything wrong with that, as I compare it to recording from the radio.

Open TR first, then your launchcast thingy. Leave TR on record pause. It should start recording on its own.
