SOLD!
-
Oh, that's fine. Just playing it safe.
-
I'll take the survey to make sure it's safe. Forgive my distrust, but 20 Euros for answering a survey sounds too good to be true. Is it going to require to sign up for some sort of service, and then the 20 Euro-Bucks apply towards it? How does this help you graduate? And... what happens to the email addresses entered? EDIT: So far, nothing nasty like a virus download, request to join a service or a spooky pic while answering the survey. Still have my doubts. Some more pirate scouting is required here...
-
How about ripping to WMA lossless, then import those to Sonicstage? I then transfer them to MD on Hi-Sp or 352, and they sound fine to me.
-
Don't worry. For the time being, it's as good as yours.
-
I have a pair of leftover earphones from an NHF800 that I can include with the unit. As a general rule, all earphones included in the units *suck*, however, so don't expect Sennheiser or Etymotic quality.
-
The RH1 will also upload almost anything, except tracks that had been transferred to a NetMD from another computer.
-
Price updated. Come on, 180 is too good of a price for an unit like this! Get it off my paws, it's just sitting here unloved.
-
Sony Fan, given it's a holiday weekend and the OP may not be available to answer, I got the info you need right here: The only units that will play Mp3 natively are the DH710, DH10P, RH910, RH10, and RH1. All other Hi-MDs will convert to ATRAC.
-
Thanks for the info, Azureal. Dedicated USB cable is included, picture updated, asking price entered. Get it now while the getting is good!

*SOLD* Guys, I've landed my pirate paws on a mostly-mint NH-1 unit. The unit is beautiful, functional and slightly smaller than the RH1. Truly sexy and elegant to hold and behold, I'm having a hard time letting it go. The unit has been tested, works. Comes with the cradle, manual, 4 1st Gen Hi-MD discs and 8 regular discs, 40-ELK remote. It includes the USB cord, Cradle and AC Adapter. Manual too. No Box. Gumstick battery charges and powers the unit just fine. The crappy earphones were busted, and therefore not included. Only caveats are minor cosmetic imperfections on the face and side of the unit. I've recorded, played, uploaded and downloaded with the unit, and haven't found any problems with it. 180 USD plus cheap shipping okay? Will ship to Canada too, but be aware of the import tariffs. Europe, depends on the country. The AC adapter is rated for USA voltage. Will take Paypal, but I prefer Money Order. (Paypal levies fees on EVERYTHING now) Come on, folks. The closest match is one unit for 250 at Amazon.com Thanks. -S.

SI: Sony Japan Releases Sonicstage V (aka Sonicstage 5)
Syrius replied to Christopher's question in Audio
Per report, the link is broken. Unfortunately, this is a Sony issue. Nothing to do with this forum and its administrators. -
Read it all here. http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2010/09/intel-threatens-consumers/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:%20wired27b%20 Per the post, the encryption seems to have been reverse-engineered (haw, haw), rather than leaked from the source. Yes, it can and will be abused, but the potential for fair use also exists. (Got an old monitor with HDMI or DVI that won't accept the newest version of the standard?). Glad it happened right after content providers got allowed to turn off the component video outs of YOUR hardware if they decide so.

You know, a little discretion never hurt anybody. Just saying. :-p

Open the shutter and look at the disc surface from below, against a light. If you can see light filtering through, then the reflective/recording layer (the one on top) has started to chip off. A couple of Fuji discs did that to me. Funny enough, all my Memorex discs work fine.
-
WTH? I bought that player for 50 dollars six years ago, and gave it away as a freebie with a HI-MD about 3. It must be a mistake, surely... or these guys are off their rocker... or they are insane to think someone will get such a plain unit for that price.
-
Sorry to plug this. I landed a *cheap* deck with optical out. It works fine 90% overall. I've posted it on its own thread. Tomod64, I picked it up thinking of your post. You can have it for what I paid for it, plus shipping.
-
I'll be posting pictures shortly. I managed to land a working MDS-S39 Sony deck. Works fine. Records, plays, sounds fine. For those of you who want to record your collection to either another unit, or a computer with digital input, this baby has digital optical out. I am doing this more of a service to the forumites who may need it because of such function. I have no interest in profiting from it. 30 dollars plus standard USPS shipping okay? Caveats: The unit has no remote, however all the face controls will work fine when it comes to titling and editing. The only other issue happens only after you've ejected a disc: The unit doesn't seem to sense properly if it's empty, and will try to "welcome" and load a disc after you've pulled one out. This is solved by leaving any disc inside the unit(preferably a blank one) after you're done with your work. The unit has no problems ejecting them, so you won't worry about discs getting stuck in there. You just can't leave it empty. Let me know. I have good feedback here, so you can be sure you're getting a fair deal. -S.

Wouldn't it be easier to send your discs to owners of the RH1? Just suggesting...

SI: Sony Ericsson Satio Selling Unlocked On SonyStyle USA For $650
Syrius replied to Christopher's question in Mobile
Hmm... social engineering? -
Copying what, MSteeln? As far as I know, you can upload and download limitlessly, provided you use the right version of SonicStage.

SEXY! Just looking at that lovely silver MD instead of a plain, vanilla I-pood makes it so full of win. Looks like a pico-component.
