What Are Your Favourite Albums In Your Collection?
ROMBUSTERS replied to yamagatacamille's topic in The Loft
oh man i have so many that i'm constantly changing i dont know if i could even name my top 5 -
very much so although i couldnt find it on their website
-
lad you are enjoying your new HiMD! And i have to agree with you that there's just something about minidiscs that are sooooo cool! and im tlaking about above and beyond all of the great features
-
MD simple burner (or SonicStage for that matter) cannot record media to the device if it is being used or accessed by another source Possible problems/solutions: -SonicStage is running/Close SonicStage -There is a reminent of SS or SB running in your processes/check processes, close them or reboot -You are accessing the disc via windows explorer/Close Windows explorer window -Another program is accessing the disc/i only recomend doing this *after* you disconnect from the Internet: turn off any system watch, virus, or adware/spyware software or anything else running in the background. -Still not working/Try booting up in safemode and seeing what you can do or try on someone else's PC to get rid of your PC as a variable

NiMH don't have good life either in reality "We observe good performance at first but past 300-cycles, the readings starts to deteriorate rapidly. One can observe the swift increase in internal resistance and self-discharge after cycle count 700" batteryuniversity.com they're just much cheaper to replace
-
ya stop hording all of the knowledge!
-
actually yes in a matter of speaking. You could place TrackMarks into tracks (although I'm not sure if you can do this after transfering the audio to HiMD digitally)
-
hows minidisco.com for purchases from Canada? anyone know?
-
Then again as long as you play on being close to an outlet every few days you shouldnt have a problem with battery life at all. Especially with the 900 but that goes for all MD units
-
once you convert it to wav you can edit it with cool edit and actually there is a lot of information on this if you search the internet Also I'm sure if you do a search on this forum alone you will find all the information you seek on the matter. WAV Converstion Tool: http://www.sony.net/Products/Hi-MD/
-
needless to say you should have a problem period. Unless you like dropped it in acid or something (hmmm seems like we have a new test for the HiMD! lol)
-
ok cool. is there anyway to buy the remote on its own? like from a sony source or credible website?
-
I really enjoy the Title1/Title2 display option present in the HiMD models. However i dislike having to change it to that everytime i insert a new disc. Is there a way to make this display feature the default or make it remember that i want that for a particular disc? Is this option not stored in Disc Memory? Help would be very much appreciated.

if you record to the HiMD unit, you can transfer the OMG files (as long as they weren't recorded digitally) to WAVs with Sony's Wav Conversion tool
-
i think MD units as a whole have been known for their incredible durability (both disc and player wise) On this forum alone you will find numerous posts about people dropping their precious units only to have nothing happen at all! So really no worries there
-
as in all of them?
-
I know this works and ive tried it however I am still dissapointed with the transfer speed (even using crappy small bit-rate/files like LP4). What exactly is the speed limiting factor present in the normal MD mode design that a Hi-MD model cannot correct?
-
id buy one just so i dont have to change CDs! plus all those other great features.... ya...
-
will the NH1 remote work with any of the other HiMD units?
-
basically you will not be dissapointed no matter which one you get. The 800 is a middle of the road unit with good features, the 900 is a high end with great battery times and the NH1 just looks great (plus it has everything the other 2 have) All comes down to what vs what you want to spend
-
you know wut would make a HUGE difference? Make Atrac non-propietary. Make freely available encoders and decoders. They could still make it heavily DRM for legal downloads or even for artists giving out their songs but the main reason Atrac is about as popular as the clap is because no one uses it. Think about open source projects with encoders that work better then sony's and faster to!
-
that cant always be entirely true though. -Format a new disc in HiMD mode. -Transfer 2 songs -The file size of the ATDATA file will still be very small (actually its more or less 850kb (the system overhead) + size of music transfered) -You could potentially have hundreds and hundreds of MB left on the disc free
-
I'm pretty sure the ATDATA03.HMA file under the HIMDHIFI folder contains the audio data but because HiMD runs on a 'hybrid FAT32' system does not hold true for the entire file system and thus u cant do anything with the audio data
-
its probably not unreasonable to think so with all the other problems in this software, Sony probably figured 44.1 would be the 99% majority and put its effort into making that work well and said forget the others

i believe Type-S (the new standard) is the update from Type-R (makes sense following apha order)
