  1. i agree even though i think they will release atleast one more unit, the unit will most likely only be availabe in japan.
  2. Seems like threads related to batteries are the hype now, so might as well jump on the band wagon. I always charge the lip-4wm when my rh1 starts to flash, but i was wondering if i could play it until it died. i am only worried about discharging it too much. Or maybe it is ok? Also is it just me or does the first few bars go pretty quickly and the last bar seems to never die. Anyways keep on rocking/recording/hacking or whatever you do on your md.
  3. There is none that i know of, but i have a feeling the RH1 is not the last. There is lots of room for improvement, i even think Sony incorporated the minor annoyances into the RH1 on purpose so they have an excuse to make another.... My gut tells me there is atleast one more flagship model Sony is going to come out with.
  4. I had no idea where to post this so i'll post it here. Is it possible to "hack" the remote or the RH1 to make the remote display chinese characters? I have a canadian RH1 and the remote doesn't display chinese characters. Any info would be great. Oh, right its the rm-mc38el remote, also if i bought a rm-mc35elk it would display chinese characters right?
  5. what? sonicstage automatically deletes people's recordings? how horrible is that..... hmmm, did the toc write? i think there is a way to retieve the files if the toc hasn't been written yet, but unfortunately i forgot where the thread was posted.
  6. lol what md enthuthiast (is that how you spell it?) wouldn't want a camera built into his md player. i would buy one but im still a student, so money is a big problem for me. also i just bought a RH1 so if im caught walking around with this i'll be dead.......
  7. Wow, what a trooper. Ive gone through the first 3 bars real quick but the last bar seems to last forever! It is still not flashing (what are the chances.........it just started flashing). Anyways lets pretend it didn't flash. I think after charging it a few times it really does bring out the full potential of the battery. Much like model r/c engines after the first gallon there is a sudden increase of power. Anyways, i shouldn't have posted this or else i woudn't have to charge it now. ps, even though the battery's capacity has increased i would still like a higher capacity li-ion at a lower price.

    RH1 vs RH10

Respectively I think its a bit of a apple to oranges comparision. The RH10 and RH1 are way different units, the only link i can think of, off the top of my head is that they are both Hi-MD. If you plan to purchase a new unit go with the RH1, you can't go wrong. And i can vouch for that, before i was also having my doubts but they are all gone now. Imo the RH10 is a shelf queen.
  9. The psp might playback atrac lossless, not sure.
  10. Wow, that really helps. Thanks. Good thing i already bought my RH1......having so much fun.
  11. can we go back on topic.... anyways i don't think people really need rechargeable AA's instead we need more and higher capacity rechargeable ni-mh gumsticks and li-ion gumsticks. one thing to mention a lower price on the li-ions would be nice.
  12. cheapest way to do it is to reinstall your windows, with xp or windows me if you don't have xp. celeron is a horrible processor, so thats why it freezes. and really the best way to go is to just get a new computer, i mean even a modern $600 computer would be faster. gl.
  13. My sense of hearing is a very important one to me, so i have been cautious about listening to volumes that are too loud. Thats why i can bear to listen to music at low volumes with my ear buds. I also have a theory that if the quality of the sound file is high enough there is no need to crank up the volume. Just a note to some people who don't know this; when you are at a noisy place and you have it cranked up to say like 25 with earbuds and you can still barely hear it, that doesn't mean it won't damage your ears because you can barely hear it..... the sound pressure is still unchanged. Hmm, it really is interesting to see the variety of volumes people listen to. But of course like what greenmachine mentioned if you are using headphoens with low sensitivity then there is nothing wrong about cranking it all the way up.
  14. Yeah i just read it over again and saw the note, my bad. If you don't mind me asking, what camera do you use for taking photos of your units? They are superb....
  15. Bump. I would think the Sharp amp is of better quality, right? Or could it be the HD digital amp that has better sound reproduction?
  16. Lol, is it just me or are there a sudden increase of RH1 owners around here? I myself just got the RH1 on Tuesday! And another person got it yesterday, and now theres you! Anyways congratulations on your new Hi-MD player, i hope you enjoy yours as much as i do with my.
  17. I have gotta say Linkin Park, In The End is so awesome, what makes it even better is that because back then when i bought my n510 i had nothing to listen to so i borrowed a song or two from my sister's computer and came across this song called In The End by Linkin Park..... Oh, what makes it special is because the n510 was my first portable walkman and the sound quality of it was just superb!
  18. HehHeh, i also like hearing stories like this. I had a friend say that his friend's father had a first gen ipod still chugging and the battery life is still the same (right). Either the father never ever used the ipod and just uses it like the paper weight it is (oh, shiiiiz i just almost dropped my RH1.....anyways) or he had the overpriced battery replaced. Also i know a few people who snapped their Nanos right in half (haha thats what you get for making something so thin out of plastic). Just wanted to share something even though the first gen ipod is most likely dead.
  19. HehHeh, actually im still using the earphones that came with the RH1. I plan to get a IEM type earphone soon. Oh, and if i use my crappy MDR-G57 i need to crank it up to about 11-13 to get equivilent loudness as my earphones at 4.
