  1. If it makes you feel any better my wasn't sealed in any sort of way too, like I have already mentioned. Although I really must note that the battery should not be already installed. And the battery wasn't fully charged, which it should not be.
  2. Anybody know anything about the Audio Technica ATH-EM7's? Need new phones, keepin' my mind open here.
  3. Sounds like you won't be needing a RH1 unless you plan on uploading your recordings. Based on your 10 hour usage of your NH1.
  4. Lol, sounds shady, my battery certainly was not already installed. Hey guys did yours have a cellophane wrapping or the seal-sticker he is talking about? Because my didn't have any sort of wrapping.... Although when I opened it, it looked perfectly new.
  5. So is this like a bug? I'll try installing the newest SonicStage.
  6. Sometimes just seemingly random sonicstage 3.4 decides that it won't transfer my tracks for me. It tells me "Error Report....The following tracks could not be transferred." Then it gives me a list of almost all the time, all the songs I tried to transfer. Like I said it only happens sometimes, I just logoff my computer logon again then it works perfectly fine.....thing is...why is this happening? I have an RH1 btw. Thanks for the help in advance.
  7. You know on the RH1 the sound settings can only be turned on when the remote is plugged in right? So lets say you have it on Custom 1 then you unplug the remote the sound setting changes to normal right? Or does it stay on Custom 1, I ask this because I can't seem to activate it with the main unit.

Would anyone recommend the ex90? or are they just overpriced... For sure i'll try out the Shure E3, just want more options. Also what was the one Sony earbud that people claim to have decent sound? Should i also give those a try?
  9. Not that im proud of my action but rather the RH1, about 2 weeks ago i found my RH1 under my shoulder blade, i must have rolled over it while sleeping (i listen to music while im still half asleep). To my relief it was perfectly fine, no dents no cracks and it still works. Goes to show the build quality of Sony vs some other brands. Would like to see an Apple ipod survive after being under a shoulder blade for hours.
  10. to sector001: On the contrary im not suprised they list the RH1, back when i was looking for a NetMD i came across a N510 at epinions, and they had lots of accurate info for it too. Anyways back on topic, thanks for the review mediageek.

    I'm back at it

Thanks for the reply really appreciate it. Although I do feel discouraged after looking at the earbuds section. Maybe I will give IEM's another try. I want something that i can take on the go, i know that some of the portable headphones are really good, but i can only see them being used at home. And if i am home i would be using my stereo system. Being a student and all, im always on the go, i also don't have much cash to go spend. Would you recommend some IEM's that give good sound quality? Also i always wonder if the ex71 and ex81 sounded any different, because if they sound alike then i wouldn't really go buy the ex71. Edit: i think what i want is something with good sound quality but without the headband, i prefer no headbands.
  12. I fear that some of those scanning programs actually contain some spyware you don't know about. Maybe it was caused by a firefox extension?
  13. The thing that makes the Sxxx series attractive are the unique features that MD doesn't have. I intend to get one, but don't intend to use it as a Hi-MD replacement. Also how is the sound quality of the recordings, aside from the volume? MiniDisc forever...

    I'm back at it

Hello all, once again i am searching for new headphones, the last pair i bought, ex81, were much less than satisfactory. It would probably take a couple more years before i buy I.E.M's ever again, they sound horrible.... so I guess i am back to earbuds. The thing is i have no idea where to start, the only thing i do know is my budget of less than $100 Cnd. I need a pair with good bass response while still maintaining the highs. Got any suggestions for me?
  15. how about you try turning quickmode off and keep el light to on? the battery meter should be visible at all times.
  16. here is the source of sony's claim, and yes i do realize engadget is not a very reliable source. http://www.engadget.com/2006/10/12/sonys-n...-walkmans-ever/ but i have this link to support it http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/av/docs/20061012/sony2.htm and whats interesting about these walkmans is that they can play atrac lossless, where as my RH1 upon others cannot or am i missing out on something here?
  17. @.@ my battery is already dead? i certainly hope not. I've been having better luck these days, must say it has to do with two things: the ambient temperature, and not letting the battery drain itself too much. Anyways i just wished Sony could have given me a better answer then "spend all your money on shipping and possibly have your RH1 get lost along the way to them". And i am buying a new battery for it, well actually a spare, for those times where you didnt have time to recharge your RH1 .
  18. i dont think that is humanly possible, quite difficult to solder on something so small within those proportions. why not invest in a good usb cable? it will came in handy in the later years. almost all electronics i have use that same cable (mini B ).
  19. not that i would know, but wouldn't that be adding another conversion, resulting in more audio degradation? and yes i realize you are going from mp3 to an uncompressed format, but still you know.
  20. I intend to bring my gear to compare the sound quality. Did I also mention that in the Japanese release information they claimed that these new flash players provide the best sound quality ever attained by Sony... Hehheh sounds like a challenge I guess we will know after I go give it a try. Even in the slim chance of them sounding better than a RH1 I would say it is because of the Noise-Canceling headphones they include. Anyways enough rambling.
  21. So I would take it as that nobody has any experience with them? Might check out my local Sony Store when the weekend comes.
  22. I must say you are one of the luckier ones. Anyways now I know why people hate Sony, yes hate is a strong word...yet we all continue to buy products from them...
  23. I must say bravo!! Those are great instructions. I also liked how you put in pictures. And actually the wait isn't that long considering how much effort you put into this, it looks very professional, good job. Also props for having the guts to open up your RH1, I know I wouldn't unless I really, really had to. The English isn't too bad either, better then in some other language . I think I will do this once I get the proper tools and materials. Thanks again.
