Too bad it doesn't take HiMD discs... Will it use STANDARD, or just these special 650mb ones? Thats all we need, another obsolete blank disc medium...
-
"Top Secret"?? I found that to work within the first hour on my own, is it really not supposed to be known or something?
-
Is there any way to change it so the display screen STAYS ON, and doesn't timeout after 30 seconds?? I noticed when I hit PLAY, THEN place the unit on the CRADLE, the screen stays on... but other than that method, I see no screen settings. Thanks.

What kind of Yoga/Dance are you doing that would require more than 13 CDs?? (HiMD), or even 3-4 CDs on standard...
-
I backup photos on CDRs or DVDRs... as long as they are stored well, they should last until the next storage medium... I'd be afraid to store photos on MD discs mainly for some odd compatability issues we could have 10 years down the road w/ MD portables & Windows 2016 or whatever.

I think he meant it more as "imagine the CONCEPT!" - like get with the program, Sony. And yeah, I must say I'm stoked about my new DH10P camera and the 1GIG removable discs for PHOTOS! Just now they're finally selling 1Gig SD cards for cams... Sony had this last year, and for 7 bucks per gig, not $100.

"Bigger Keys"?? Please explain.
-
Wow, thanks for the contact info - I'll give it a try.

Does anyone have a PHONE NUMBER for Audio Cubes? I'm sure that's the million dollar question and they don't want to be bothered, but I got my ever-so-expensive black DH10P in the mail from them last week and it came defective. I sent several e-mails their way LAST TUESDAY to their "we'll get back to you within 24-48 hours" address and have not received ANY response. I didn't want to spread any bad vibes on this board, but my patience has worn thin. I also posted this on the T-board, as I'm begnning to get rather peeved sitting on over $530 of defective hardware. Here's what the camera portion of the DH10P they sent me does: As you can see the screen flickers with what looks like video static.. then once it rests there is an extremely under-exposed (dark) view. Here is a photo taken during the static:

What an insult to the device.

SWEET!!! I stand corrected on my last comment... hanks for the posting

This thread should have been euthanised after all
-
Does Simple Burner assign track info, etc, or is it more like old school ripping? I've never used it.
-
You know, I hear about this all the time, but oddly enough, I have like 2 CDs I ripped into SS to MD that had slight gaps... (when they were supposed to be seamless like on the CD itself) ?
-
Well put! That should close this thread, actually.
-
Then what are you doing in this forum?
-
WELL SAID!! I have a friend who bought a car that has an iPod input thingy, but it's in the GLOVE BOX, and the stereo face doesn't display the track TEXT INFO, only NUMBERS!
-
That will change, I'm sure.
-
Ok, your points are all well taken. And by the way.. you can't record on an iPod??? Why do they sell mics for them then?
-
While I'll admit Sonic Stage 3.4 is where it should have been from the beginning, and certainly has the advantage now of RE-downloading back from the MD discs... sure it's no iTunes, but considering where SS was just 3 years ago... Also your 'integration' comment isn't that valid considering all you need is an AUX input which is becomming more and more common w/ car stereos for the sake of mp3-portables in general. Accessories? Who need's more skins and junk? MD is a solid product as a recording device & playback unit. As discussed forever in these forums, Sony created a strong product, they just messed up the marketing angle 100%. DEUCE.
-
Crap. That sucks... invading the MD HOMELAND!!
-
I have no idea... as I said, "someone estimated"
-
Yeah, but it has been estimated that the OLED will only last about 6.5 years based on 4 hours a day use... I think the LCD on say a NH900 would last 3 times as long... The RH10 is a beautiful machine, but not the most durable in my opinion. The more qizmo wow-chips they add to units, the more chance of something going wrong.
-
Exactly!! I joined the ranks of MD just over a year ago and a big reason is that despite the 'dying' nature of support, releases, etc, it's a GOOD, solid product!! I love the durability of the discs, the sound quality, etc... and Sony FINALLY did the software right (SS 3.4). It's all I want. I don't care if there's a 3,000 GB iPod that cooks dinner, I still want to spin a little disc in a beautiful square-like box and even get strange looks for doing it... I care not.

Overkill? Um... no, not really. Technically I'll have 3 main units, so here's the explanation: DH710 - I bought for my wife, and she eventually didn't use it so it is the official kitchen player. NH900 (1st unit, silver) - Has taken a beating, but still works - and will be my official downloader by the computer. NH900 (2nd unit, silver) - This I ordered from Ebay recently for like $150. It is a new NH900 for me to use more carefully than my first, and an important unit to have as they are becoming more and more extinct. NH900 (3rd unit, black) - Look, if you don't understand how important a cool color for a unit is, I shouldn't waste time trying to explain this to you. But I simply want a black NH900 because it's so darn cool, and now wanted it even more because it is so darn RARE. EH1 (black)- I'm actually going to be selling this, as since I'm not a remote user, this is really just a 'wow' unit to look at and to show people, but just not practical for me. RH10 (1st unit, black) - I killed it... dropped too many times, it works if left very still on a tabletop, but I'm putting it away for parts. RH10 (2nd unit, black) - I used it for about an hour, then decided I wanted to get a DH10P, which basically is an upgrade, in my opinion, so I'm selling this to help fund the DH10P. DH10P (black) - Got it in the mail yesterday, it is DEFECTIVE... waiting on AudioCubes to write me back about returning it. DH10P (silver) - I might order this if AC takes my black one back... it's half the cost. The units in bold are the ones I'll be using mostly. Still think it's overkill? When I see these units dropping like flies off web store sales, I feel like I need to get them while I CAN.
