  1. SOLD - thanks folks. This is an offer for Audio T-Board members who may also be in this forum... I am selling a new, but once opened box, Sony MZ-RH10. All accessories are in the original box, untouched & still shrink-wrapped. The unit has been tested and is in mint condition. I'm offering this for a price of $189 for T-board members only. This is the USA edition (see photo). Paypal is the preferred method of payment (I will accept money orders only if you live in USA or Canada). You pay for actual shipping cost, no surprise fees. Here is my Ebay Feedback rating. This offer will only be up for 2 days, then it goes to Ebay for a higher price! Thanks, I'll take offers in the order I receive them via the T-board Private Message system.
  2. Actually when it comes to MD players, I'm quite a fickle flirt Plus I don't post at this board anywhere near as often as I do the T-board, so please forgive (or be happy?)... at any rate, the RH10 is actually my most used player, but recently I've fallen in love w/ my ol' NH900 again, believe it or not. However, I'm putting together a BLACK arsenal of MD players, with my RH10, EH1, soon-to-get black NH900, and now this DH10P (also BLACK).
  3. OH, on the contrary, my Sith friend, I'm getting BOTH!
  4. I'm sorry, but I did several searches in this forum to find this topic, and no luck... I just got a DH10P today and need to change the menu to English from the standard Japanese text... please help! Thanks.
  5. Are you up to 2 more questions, Mikami? 1) I've used my NH900 as my main 'downloader' for Sonic Stage to make all of my audio MDs... can this device do that? Make a regular atrac audio MD or will a regular MD player not read it? 2) Going from PC to PC, do the computers require special DRIVERS to recognize the external drive? I tried hooking up my NH900 to my work PC and Windows 2000 didn't recognize the Sony device without 'administrative support', in other words, I would need drivers to be installed. Thanks.
  6. If you want to give up a black NH900, PM me, I'd like to buy one - thanks.
  7. I must ask, why the sudden purchase of SEVERAL units? Plus, if you're contemplating HiMD, why spend money on the others?
  8. Well, I guess I should count my blessings and not complain about my tape... but luckily the black electric tape doesn't stand out that much w/ the rest of the body being black... plus I've learned how to use a much smaller piece of tape now.
  9. Then your concerns are very legit. Go for the NH900 then!
  10. ...and I just noticed my TYPO "you MAN need to cup it w/ your hand" should read you MAY need to cup it... yeah, I'd say under DIRECT sun hitting the thing you'd have to shadow it. I have found I am in low light conditions more often w/ my unit than under direct sun. So if its a BEACH unit you're after, you won't need the OLED
  11. Um... did you read my entire post? I'll quote myself to answer your question: "if the sun is DIRECTLY on the unit, like you're out on a soccer field at noon, it's a bit more difficult to see, and you man need to cup it w/ your hand a tad... "
  12. Here's a pic I took showing the unit in BRIGHT DAYLIGHT. In other words, the sun is not DIRECTLY hitting it (I'm in the car), but it is a BRIGHT SUNNY DAY, and it may help you understand a bit... if the sun is DIRECTLY on the unit, like you're out on a soccer field at noon, it's a bit more difficult to see, and you man need to cup it w/ your hand a tad... but believe me you can see this 90% of the time with no difficulty, whereas the STANDARD screens w/out backlight I'd say you can see 40% of the time. The "Idle" brightness as I call is when the unit is in regular mode while it is playing, etc... the "active" brightness is a stronger kick it gets whenever you push a button, scroll, etc, then it goes back to idle in a few seconds. There is no way to set it to active all the time, but trust me, the idle (standard) brightness is still awesome. I hope this helps.
  13. I can't say enough great things about the Sure MD33s... I've converted 3 other people so far. I've had professional head sets in the hundred dollar + range, and I love these better. Amazing in sound, comfort, and portability (and price!)
  14. What really bothers me is how they don't SELL any of those non-gloss Sony slip sleeves separately!! I'd be all over them if they did.
  15. Thanks... I started having problems w/ SS 3.3, and I can't find my SS 3.2 disc, so I'm using 3.0. However, I tried the "divide" action last night; successfully split one track, and when I tried to split it again, I got an error message, then I could not longer play the track at all and I got a Sony popup message about trying to pay for a download of the track I do not have copyright to anymore Needless to say, I'll stick with SoundForge. Thanks, all.
  16. Well, like I said they do tend to crack or break easier than the slip cases... plus they take a little longer to take in & out. But if you're careful with things, yeah, they are ideal. There is also a color series out that has a tighter SNAP-close, if you will (these clear jewel cases swing open VERY easily... kinda loose). But most of the colors (green, purple) were so dark it was hard to see the MD inside the case (like to read it).
  17. Currently I'm using 3.0, and under "Edit" you have "My Library" and "Device Media"... both of which don't seem to go in the direction you are talking about... so can you please explain how to get there like I'm a 5 yr. old? Thx.
  18. Point well taken. I normally use SoundForge actually.
  19. Do you mean THESE? minidisc access jewel cases LINK
  20. You know how when you would burn a CD using something like Nero, and last minute you wish to clip off the end of a track, pump the audio, or clip the head? You could just open up a built-in wav editor, take care of it, and burn. How I wish I could do this with Sonic Stage... instead, I have to rip the whole track from CD to WAV using another program, then edit the wav, and then IMPORT the wav into SS using file import, separate from the CD import of the other tracks. Am I right that there is no other way?
  21. This thread sure put a smile on my face!! I just celebrated my 1-year anniversary last month of being an MD user... and I can't rave enough about this format!! Even though I own several units, my black RH10 is my most frequently used (and most important) unit... actually I can't say that because my NH900 is equally important since I always use that as my downloader! Anyway, MD rules, there's no doubt about that. Here are my top 5 reasons: 1. Sound Quality. 2. Portability. 3. Reliability. 4. Multiple uses. 5. Cool factor. I even saved the last 2 pages of this thread into a notepad doc for times if I get the "MD gloom & doom" feel that happened not long ago.
  22. How do you really feel about them? Anyway, I think you did raise 2 valid points (the labels and fingerprints). However, I could not let your "kiddy design" comment go, and I think many people will back me up. Some of the COOLEST MD designs show the disc, and are collectable to many. In fact, it's the COOLEST part that attracted me to MD in the first place (the look of them). In fact, I think Neo's (The Matrix) minidiscs had clear windows... hardly a kiddy thing for him to own. Enough on that point, it all boils down to opinion (and some practicality). You HAVE seen the JEWEL-case type cases have you not? You can put those in your pocket & not have the discs exposed to lint, etc... however, they do tend to CRACK, just like regular CD jewel cases do. Which is why I like the sleeve-insert design, because they are virtually indestructable. To each his own... too bad I didn't find you sooner; I threw out like 15 of those long-boxes that came w/ my original HiMD discs... Oh, and ... CHECK!
  23. Umm... that button doesn't work... and I saw the ad before, and I did NOT see HiMD
