  1. Couldn't download it so I recorded it. Sounds cool.
  2. You just confused me tis all. I'm not a fan of 64kps/128kps MP3 pro, so its not a route I would take myself. Even with my dire quality music. Some people are ok with it though.
  3. Its not an attack simply a question. Anyways why is it an attack to query someones post? A forum is meant to be a discussion You're not going to get 5GB+ on to a HiMD without disk swapping. OP doesn't want to rerecord them, so then why suggest recording them and putting them on HiMD disks? I don't understand. A side issue is that rerecording them is transcoding which will further degrade the quality from the originals. Rebuying the CD's sounds like a pain but in fact you won't buy them all, as most likely you won't be still interested in all of them. The CD's form your archive/backup and you can rip whatever you like from them, in maximum quality, tagging is all automatic and you can remove DRM this time around. You could rip them to FLAC or similar and then you'd never need to rip them again. Its just an opinion, anyone's free to disagree or question it. I came across this post searching for info on the JE520. Seemed quite similar to what I'm doing with my cassettes. Rerecording old stuff is a not as much fun as recording new stuff. Mind you its nice to listen to old music I had on cassette on a MP3 player in the car.
  4. I agree about the whole player thing.
  5. Theres no way to upload from a pre HiMD. You'll have to record from the headphone socket using a standard 3.5 stereo cable to the line in on the audio card in your computer.
  6. Seems like a permissions problem. Can you try moving/pointing your SonicStage Library to somewhere like C:\My SonicStage and perhaps pointing your transfer to the same place. Then try it. If that doesn't work I'd un-install and then reinstall as it only takes 20-30mins.
  7. Yes indeed it is. Some of favorite music is stuff I#'ve recorded. But what's that got to do with ripping new music CD's, MP3's and not swapping discs as the OP asked?
  8. I assume pepper has a HiMD. I don't think the display on the unit means anything except that its connected to a PC not the direction of the transfer. Maybe it does, I've never paid much attention to it tbh. I'd do what greenmachine suggest, reselect the destination folder.
  9. Thread resurrection sorry. I still think it would be quicker and better to re buy the CD's (2nd hand) and re-rip them. Or you can join one of the online Mp3 stores and do it that way. Doing everything via line in/out is too slow. Buying a RH1 is too expensive unless you want to invest in HiMD. I'm in a similar dilemma with my cassettes. But its made easier because of deterioration many of them aren't worth saving, so I've gone the route of 2nd CD's.
  10. I liked the size of the Razr but its camera is abysmal. I never used it when I had one. You really need autofocus to get a decent photo. Argualbly you need 2mp aswell, at least to get a 6"x4" But the Autofocus is key. The DH10P has autofocus AFAIK.
  11. I not sure but think you can turn that off in iTunes
  12. I always carry a mobile phone with a camera. I'm current using a Sony K750i 2mp with autofocus. The autofocus makes a vast difference. I've taken some decent photos with it. I wouldn't buy a DH10P for the camera though it does ok.
  13. Very nice. Where did you get it from? I've always thought that these are the best of the MD/HiMD for playback because of the screen and logical controls. HD amp etc.
  14. Never heard of these before... HHB MDP 500 Portable MiniDisc Recorder http://www.adverts.ie/showproduct.php?product=19551
  15. I think people are not aware of how to rip music properly and get the best compromise between quality and size. If you want to say with physical media and get smaller than CD's and approaching the size of MP3 players MD is the logical choice.
  16. Uncompressed just means its bigger. Lossless is the same as CD quality. Compressed Lossless is the same as CD quality just smaller. Lossy compression like MP3 is less quality and smaller. Its like saying 10,000 or 10k. The infomation is the same. But 10k takes up less space. Or 10,000 10,000 10,000 10,000 10,000 6 chars x 5 = 30 chars or 10k x 5 is 7 chars
  17. Batteries? I was thinking that the recharging circuit might be picky about the current it accepts.
  18. I've not been happy with the last few car CD/MP3 decks I've got. Currently we are using a DEH-4700MP in one car which while built very well, I don't like at all. Poor EQ, illogical controls and functions, generally it doesn't sound that great. Tbh I prefer using the good quality cassette deck in the other car. it simply sounds much better. So I've been thinking about trying a MD deck instead. I wondering who has a MD car deck and which would people recommend ?
  19. Why use uncompressed when compressed lossless is the same thing only smaller. Thats said I've no idea why Sony won't make a recording HD DAP as they've made decent HD DAPs up to now, even if they have crippled them with DRM.
  20. Why do you think that is? The die hards stocking up on MD? You might want to disguise your email from the spammers "b ur t *AT* m e.com" etc
  21. Your so right. Nice find with the copying. That has to be a very rare deck now.
  22. I think you just have to be very careful with who you buy from. Someone with a good history is usually quite honest about a units condition. I've had some used gear that been perfect and some thats been flaky, the latter usually from people with patchy or little history.
