    My Sony NW-A806 so far…

Hi Richyhu Do you use the supplied phones? To be honest I don't think much of them. Mids and treble seem fine but hardly any bass for this type of phone. Tried my MDR-EX71's and even though they aren't the greatest pair of phones, in some ways sounded better. Sounded extremely good with the Sennheiser PX100's. What do other A8xx owners think of the supplied phones, and if you don't use them what do you use instead? Hi GQ Smooth Your thinking of getting a new case? Is it because the screen still gets dirty with the leather case? How much does this case sell for and who makes it? Also, do the buttons on the case work the original buttons ok and without any fuss?
  2. To be honest I don't think the supplied phones are too good, an upgrade would probably do the trick. Some people say the Sennheiser CX300's are better than the supplied phones. As for the volume hack, there probably isn't one. There has never been a volume hack for a flash based player, only the hdd ones like A3000, HD5 etc.

    A3000 data cable

Still quite pricey at $55.52, approx. £27.
  4. Yes, the RM-MC35ELK will work fully with the NW-A1200, as it will with the A3000/A1000. The folder navigation also works. I'm not too sure about the other remotes though, I don't think they control all the functions of the A3000/A1000/A1200. The RM-MC35ELK is recommended for the A3000/A1000/A1200.

    My Sony NW-A806 so far…

Picked up the NW-A806 in black yesterday and am very pleased with it so far. Although the hold button would have been better on the side or the top like the NW-A3000/A1000.
  6. Ebay the old one if working properly now, and start fresh with the new one and the case. That's what I would do I agree with Stuge, no need for that heading
  7. Nice review and an attractive looking unit, though a little dated. The brushed alluminium finish sets it apart from the rest. Did you say it was brand new?

    NW-A1200 Case

    another vote for no.2.
  9. NW-A8xx does not appear on the Sony USA website as yet. They don't even get the full range on the NW-S7xx range, only the 1 gig and 2 gig versions. I allways thought the USA got most things before the rest of the world?
  10. I take it you bought the HD1 recently? This is an older model that doesn't support the many different codecs the newer Sony players do today. I think you would have been a lot happier with a more recent model, but if you give it a chance I'm sure you will come to like the player
  11. Listening to:- Essentiial Mix with Pete Tong, Carl Cox, Sasha & Paul Oakenfold (1995), on NW-HD5 in ATRAC 256 kbps.
  12. Listening to:- Renaissance "The Mix Collection" with Sasha & John Digweed (1994), on NW-HD5 in ATRAC 256 kbps.

    nw-s706 where to buy?

Have you looked in to shipping it from another European country? Here in the UK we have a plentiful supply of the NW-S7xx range, infact all current models can be found here.
  14. Are you bidding or is it a buy now option?
  15. Good luck with the new player, hope you enjoy it. It's qiute a few dollars less than the refurb HD5. Maybe you can buy some new phones to go with the player or some new tunes. At least now you know what your getting and won't be dissapointed
  16. Sounds like my old NW-E407, the tracks stay in the order you put them on. It doesn't sort them into alphabetical order
  17. Hi & welcome to Atrac Life Thanks for the great pics. I have an S706 and I think it's great to
  18. I totally agree with aob9 and couldn't have said it better myself. Go on and treat yourself, you won't look back
  19. Hello and welcome To Atrac Life Go for the A806, beats the Nano hands down. Sound quality and video playback are two reasons to go for the Sony. The ear phones that come with the A806 are far superior than the ipod stock buds You will need to use SonicStage though, no getting around that. So you will need to transfer your library over. Hope this helps
  20. Sorry Stuge, they are both one and the same person.
  21. I love the HD5 but in some respects you can't beat the alluminium body and general good looks of the HD1 and HD3.
  22. Many happy returns to the Heavy Metal Warrior, BIGHMW. Hope you have a good one!!!
  23. They only cut out 75% of ambiant noise. You will here some but it's greatly reduced. I use my one on the London underground every day and they definitely do work.
  24. Congratulations on the S705, I remember you pm'd me some time back regarding this. What earphones do you intend using with this player? I thought the NC022's sounded ok.
  25. Yes, I thought it was a card reader of some sort, cheers
