I am part of the IT department in my company . YOu would have been fired by now at my company.

The main reason for a digital amp is battery power conservation.

doomlordis - I checked out the functionality and it works exactly like the 39LT. After closer inspection it actually looks like it is exactly the same remote. The only reason I can tell the difference between the two is because that block thing on the end of the remote by the connector that plugs into the unit is slightly bigger on the 39LT and obviously, I can read the model number . Funtionality of both remotes is exactly the same. The screen is exactly the same size too (9 characters are readable at a time for title text). The radio functions work also.

KrazyIvan's Panasonic SJ-MJ50 Pictorial

Sorry, I don't have any to sell. I actually purchased them through bland10000. He was kind enough to buy them and ship them to me from Japan. Maybe if you ask bland10000 nicely? -

I just added a couple more shots so people can get an idea of the size compared to some MD blanks. -
I have both the 37lt and 39lt but never tried the 37 on my NHF800. I'll try it when I get home this afternoon and post if it works.

KrazyIvan's Panasonic SJ-MJ50 Pictorial

That really is a good deal. Even comes with the cradle! -
That seems kind of odd that you can't get rights to install the service pack but you can get rights to install a non business software package on a business computer. That is one messed up IT department you have there.

Glad the pictorial helped with your decision to buy the Pana. I guess I should really take some pics with the unit next to some MD's for a size comparison. -
On the NHF800 it does. I don't see why it would not on the RH10.

I use a Sony Clie SJ30. 16 megs of memory with a 64 meg memory stick. Works great for what I need it to do. Mainly I use the PIM functions the most with an occasional game thrown in for good measure.

The 40ELK definitely works. So does the 33EL. The 40ELK is much better.

so, do you think the smokey stuff was there to begin with or was it something that developed over time?

If it is like the NHF800, it is bars, unless you adjust the volume then you can see the numbers.

PCM wav is uncompressed and, yes, it can be uploaded via USB. So can Hi-SP modes (256 kbps), and Hi-LP (I forget the compression rate). SP mode is legacy compressed mode at 292 kbps. I have not tried it but I doubt it can be uploaded conventionally since you would have to be in NetMD (and using a 1st gen Hi-MD unit) mode to record it. There are other ways of "uploading" that require third party software but I have not tried them.

I like the blue ones. Maybe I will have to talk to my contact in Japan when they come out.

I think your weakest link is going to be the earphones you are using. I have the 828's and they are definitely not much better than stock buds. If you are trying to get the best sound from the NH900 try some better earbuds. The earbuds I use are listed in my sig. I have been happy with both with the exception of fit on the Panasonics. They make my ears hurt. Beleive me, you will not have a hard time trying to adjust for bass on either set. They are both pretty bassy and I usually have to turn the bass down a bit.

I just wanted to update the post a little now that I have had a chance to use these phones a bit more. I am in love with them. This is the only set of headphones that I can connect directly to my CDP-XA1ES CD Deck and enjoy the music fully. I usually don't do that with any of my decks headphone outputs. I just bought "The best of Sixpense None The Richer" CD and it was absolute audio bliss. I was on the computer tryping up some stuff at the time and just had to stop what I was doing to enjoy the music. I will be listening to my MDCF Holiday swap MD next and these phones will be my weapon of choice. I am going to have to explore the Sennheiser line some more. If this is what a budget phone from them can do, I can only imagine what their serious stuff can do. There are a couple of drawbacks that I already mentioned. My biggest peave being that they heat up my ears. I don't see that much can be done about that without raising the price or affecting sound quality. Actually I am not sure if anything can be done about that. The second is the cord. It is entirely to long for me, even for home use. I have to keep it bundled up, which I hate doing. A two meter cord would have been more than enough for me.

so you are the person that ended up with them? I might be enticed into getting an NH900.

Best of Sixpence None The Richer on CD Audio via Sony CDP-XA1ES deck and Senn HD 201's.

I have the NHF800 and I do not have any of the problems you describe. I also don't treat it like you do. Mine is always with me too. I always have it in a protective case and just use the remote or have it on my desk at a safe distance so I will not accidentally throw it across the room.

You always have the option of realtime recording NetMD or legacy recordings to the PC via the soundcard line-in.

I hail from the DOS days too. Ahh, those where the days. Trying to sneak programs into upper memory to save base RAM. Windows XP is my preferred weapon of choice now. I have dabbled with Linux and will probably dabble some more but for now Windows is my home.
