KrazyIvan's Panasonic SJ-MJ50 Pictorial
KrazyIvan replied to KrazyIvan's topic in Product Reviews/Pictorials
As far as I can tell, yes. The lid is definitly metal but I had a hard time telling if the back is metal but my conclusion is yes, since it is cold to the touch. The battery door is plastic, unfortunately. -
This is one slick looking player. Probably the nicest one in my inventory so far. I forgot to add that there is full resolution pics in the gallery. On this shot you can actually see a reflection of a poster I have on my cube wall. Here are a couple of shots so you can get an idea of the size compared to MD blanks:

I saw that there is a firm out of the UK that is selling modified SCSI versions of the MD Data drives (MDH-10). The nice thing about them is that you can upload SP recorded discs at 5X, and edit the waveforms with there included software. You can also defragment MD's, do TOC rescues and a bunch more. It is really awesome kit. Here is a link: http://www.esdl.co.uk/body/mdte/mdte.htm

That is true. I am open to anything but I still draw the line at country. I also want to add that I have reconsidered and will do an SP or 80 minute Hi-SP formatted disc. I'll edit my first post to reflect that.

Just purchased another unit from Valder (Panasonic SJ-MJ50) and the transaction was flawless. Awesome communication and fast shipping. Always a pleasure doing business with you.
-
So it is a combination of the two? I was doing some file cleaning the other day and ran into what seemed to be an Access database file in my SS directory. I decided not to mess with it since SS is so picky. I did not want to corrupt it.
-
No experience with them specifically but just knowing the GPX brand and that the item specs just lists dimensions, I would stay away. That is unless you like tinny sounding speakers.
-
You could use any USB cable that you could find at your local electronics shop. Maplin should be a good place to look since you are in the UK. Camera shops would be my next guess. It is a standard USB mini plug. Forget that, Did not see the NH1 reference.

Count me in. SP or 80 min. Hi-SP formatted disc for me. International okay. Please, I can handle most any music but please, please, no country . I may live in Texas but that does not mean much when it comes to my music preferences.
-
I should have been specific, this is compared to Zip 250 SCSI.
-
2. It is just slightly faster than Zip but pretty close from what I remember.

Just a quick note. I had a Creative LAbs 5.1 card that I used all the time for dubbing. It did produce some noise and I found out it was RF interference from my PSU or my graphics card. I moved the card to the very furthestt slot at the bottom of the case and fabricated a RF shield out of sheet metal. It did reduce the noise I was getting in my recordings. I eventually switched to a Creative Extigy for the optical I/O's.
-
I don't know what I would do without optical dub capabilities. I use it all the time. For those that complain about the real-time aspect of dubbing, just think about it a bit. You are going to have to listen to the music in real-time someday so why not while you are recording?

A remix of my mix by a person from another forum.

You know you have opened yourself up to phishing emails right? Probably no one here but this is a public forum so anybody can see your eBay ID. Not that anyone can't get it if they really wanted but you know, it's better safe than sorry. You did get a really good deal though, congrats!

People do that a lot in Mexico. It gets on my nerves. I have been known to actually sit there until just before the light turns red and then take off, leaving them at the red light. Yeah, bad, I know.
-
I t would help if you gave us a list of the equipment you already have so we can determine what would work best. Optical recordings are considered to be the best you can get with MD.
-
I am sorry, I tried it but I have reverted to the default. It was starting to give me a headache.
-
I am having a hard time with it but am sticking it out for now. I may change back to the default though.

My parents immigrated from Mexico to the US in 1971. I was born in California in 1972. I grew up in San Jose, CA until my parent decided to move to El Paso, Texas. Lived there for a year then moved to a small town in Texas very close to the New Mexico border and just northwest of El Paso. We finally ended up in Las Cruces, NM in 1989. Lived there until 2001. Moved back to that small town just outside of El Paso due to work related reasons. It is a small town of about 2300 people. I hate big city living so prefer this. I work in El Paso but live only 15 minutes drive in the outskirts.

Maybe not. I think it is going to be some flash based streaming wi-fi contraption that will eventually take over.
-
Actually, if you think about it, there were few Sith but many Jedi. There are few MD users and many mp3 DAP/flash player users. Well, that's how I rationalize it.
-
You cannot resist the audio dark side! MD of course.

Pretty much just sit back and enjoy my NHF800, and NF610, and R900, and E-80, and Aiwa AM-F80. I am set.

Ooooooo, pretty. Love the otter box. I am going to have to hint around to my wife that that would be a good Christmas present for me.
