One last update..

Yeah, all my device drivers are shown, including hidden ones. Maybe I should've mentioned it more clearer but I only have had the RH1 connected to my tower and no other MD units. Oh, and uploading regular MDLP to non-HiMD disk are as slow as SP as well. I have no clue why this is..

It's normal.. gotta' remember, MD still uses moving parts.

Yeah, checked the credits. Sometimes, they do leave things out.

Two more.. these are ripped from Ocean's Twelve and the Devil's Advocate respectively. On the note of both, I'm just wondering if there are legitimate artists at work here, rather than music/soundtrack solely dedicated for the movie's stories. http://mx.nevezen.com/id/oc12.mp3 http://mx.nevezen.com/id/choir.mp3

Dumpster diving is what it's usually called over here stateside. Most often it is illegal but yes, it is unbelievable what people throw in the trash that can be salvaged. A year ago, I picked up a 2GHz desktop from the dumpster.. fully working.

Occasionally, I stumble upon music that escapes naming/titling.. Anyone here know these? First two are trance clips.. http://mx.nevezen.com/id/1.mp3 http://mx.nevezen.com/id/2.mp3 http://mx.nevezen.com/id/piano1.mp3 http://mx.nevezen.com/id/piano2.mp3

Maybe the international expediting services like Fedex or UPS run 365 days a year but I know USPS (United States Postal Service) doesn't do that. But of course you're in Japan so your Postal Service may vary. I think you should've done your homework. As in calling them beforehand and asking about their shipping policies or, to check on whether they're a legitimate seller and feedbacks from people (you can easily check via google.. I'm sure there have been people whom bought from your seller and have something to say).

Just recieved a LIP-4WM rather cheaply (not new though). The difference between this one and the one that came with my RH1 unit is the three-letter serial DHA compared to FLA for the authentic one, and just a recycle icon on top of "Li-ion" on the far right of the sticker instead of "RECYCLE" and a 1-800 number. Should I be worried? The writing on the sticker appears to be identical but is lighter (or rather washed out) than compared to the original...

Could you PM me please?

But once you get a BD drive/player, you'd still need to invest in a big-ass LCD just to take advantage of that high definition content..

They "folded".. A few months ago, there was some eBayer selling blank DataPlay disks.. but no drives. And a few years ago, I remember seeing them in Suncoast records stores.. (they folded as well). A real rarity, if you're into now-obscure optical formats..

Any of you have tips on storing Li-Ion batteries like the LIP-4WM, long term? I've got an extra one for my RH1 and I don't want to have to find out the hard way that it's unchargeable (or will hold a weak charge). I figured the way my N10's internal battery died was of prolonged periods of idleness, of maybe 6 or more months without a charging. Don't want this to happen as the RH1 is a fairly strange unit without an external battery pack like many of it's predecessors included..
-
I'd like a mini-docking station.. I just realized when I got my RH1 that it was slim on the amount of accessories included. I'd like a dock that interconnects all the I/O's as well as USB for easy cable management. Or have an "addon" that fits snuggly with the unit itself to serve as an external battery pack/power supply. I know this is totally ambitious but I'm somewhat confident that it would attract alot of attention, seeing how we're all in the semi-professional audio together here..

That Panasonic unit.. states in the equipment browser that it's NetMD capable. So does it come with bundled software to access this function? Or can we use SS with it?

There's a scene in "Transformers" when one of the "section" guys shows NASA footage of the Mars probe being tossed around. The angles are too tight though but it did seem he stuck an MD into a Macbook, from a slot that popped up from the suitcase.. ---- Updated..

May I suggest building A VMware image of WinXP w/SS 4.3 for legacy purposes? Hell, I think you can fit a slipstreamed Windows XP install onto 1 HiMD disk..

An EH1 from Australia on eBay. I didn't realize HiMD "players" still fetch these sort of prices, but then again the EH1 is one sexy player. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=280290941058

Just recieved a Victor 'ar' 5-pack and one TDK Bitclub 'Arrows' from him. In exchange, I traded a bundle of Daiso's and mediated a transaction between minidiscaccess. Through and through, our deal went without problems. Thanks again and hope you enjoy the collection of MDs you're about to recieve!

Unless you record new music over deleted ones. But hey, I think you know more about this than me..
