I dont know what sort of output the vaio has, maybe ishi would be better at giving you an idea of the useability of a900 type phones on ur vaio pocket? I CAN listen to my a900's on my r909 but i dont like to lol. The sound is better on my deck, in the sense that it sounds 'fuller' (sound stage??). Furthermore, the more volume you add, the less bass you get, understandably. What music styles do you like/listen to? How do you like your music(strong trebbles, bass etc)? I wouldnt really reccomend the ath-a900's for rock music, such as blink 182, sum 41, linkin park etc. These are good when listening to: more 'vocal' music, music with acoustic guitar, classical music, music like sade, frank sinatra, nikka costa' coldplay, enya, gorrilaz, faithless, jamiroquai, kosheen, and so on, lol. Basicly, riff'y type stuff doesnt go down as well.Example; I dont really like listening to AC/DC with my a900's at all. I couldnt see the first pair u mentioned anywhere, what site?? how much? The 900's have good bass, enough for me at least. The bass isnt overpowering, i mean it doesnt take over the sound of the music imo.

NetMD uploads still not supported via SS3.4
mercury_in_flames replied to lacocio's topic in Software
I have a feeling its not the software at fault here guys, best to just stop dreaming lol. Be glad for what it does.I guess I'm one of the lucky people to have copied my cd before i recorded it to md back in the old days (4 yrs ago). I have come to accept minidisc as a sort of cd-rw format. With all music I have on md, i see to it that i get the tracks in another medium (mp3, cd etc). I guess if you are of those that used md to record live music or for any other use than making mixes from portable cd players, etc, that you are the ones peeved off right now. If I had a DAB, went to concerts/gigs/etc alo, and used it for work, then I would dump net md and get himd. To conclude, wake up and smell the coffee net md owners lol, you're not going to get to upload tracks that you recorded, ever (i'll eat my hat if it does happen though ) -
Sonicstage 3.4 Debuts With Stunning New Functionality
mercury_in_flames replied to Christopher's topic in News
Looks like you cant transfer atrac 320 to the nw-hd5 after all. , and then it transfers the track at 132 kb atrac, oh and for some reason, when i convert a wav file the highest in converts to is 256 kb atrac, not the 352 i selected. meh. -

Sonicstage 3.4 Debuts With Stunning New Functionality
mercury_in_flames replied to Christopher's topic in News
it says it will uninstall previous version of open mg jukebox, this doesnt mean that simple burner will be uninstalled does it? -
when you go to restore with the s.s backup tool, why does it say; 'this operation deleted all sonicstage data from the destination hard disk' >?? I mean if i accdently deleted 1 album that ive got on my comp as atrac files, does that mean my whole folder gets reverted to what it used to be? Thats a bit lame isnt it??

Imo, I dont think that would be the case lol, I havent tried both of these units, but I am inclined to think this as they have the same amp in them, headphone output, and e.q dont they? Besides, if you just want it for 'better' sound, then dont get the camera one, i dont think it would sound THAT much better to warrant getting that when you have a perfectly good himd already. If you want better sound, maybe a dedicated portable himd player would be a better option?

Munich Not bad on the whole. It was interesting, and kept me watching. But overall, better to just rent it on dvd. overall, 6/10.

Just curious: what is your "MiniDisc conversion" story?
mercury_in_flames replied to FTS2090's topic in The Loft
I couldnt see my story here, although if it is, i appologize. I bought my mz-r909 back in 2000 i think it was. My reason for getting one was to er..listen to music off the radio whenever i chose, make my own compilations etc. I bought a net md ms-n910 second hand on ebay. The net capability is a bit glitchy at times as i think the unit isnt that fresh anymore. I then got an md deck last year, MDS-JB980, with net capability. Since then I've been using it with my audio technica headphones, using md as a cd-rw sort of medium. My hd5 hasnt got a real line out, so i just put any new tracks i acquire onto md and listen through my hifi with it. It has also served me when I wanted to transfer a concert dvd to a portable format. At the moment my hifi system is at repair, and I have connected my deck to my television and am listening through that. -
no one wants the ps3?
-
you just increased the contrast etc?? The 'light' in the middle makes it a bit whoa
-
whoa nice one. off ebay or new??
-
note that there arent any minidisc recorders which allow you to record straight from the radio to the minidisc itself. You can only use the radio function or the minidisc function.

Up to now, I have been there and back a total of 5 times. On wednesday, I explained to the technician that the line out is broken yet again, and the flip down panel needs to be adjusted to smoothly fold down, to the be how it was before. He said he understood and would fix those things. If it breaks again, I will speak to the manager and tell them to arrange for another place to fix it, as its a joke that they cant even fix a hifi system. I mean use better solder then? what am i supposed to tell them? It cant be THAT complicated for someone who repairs hifi components etc all for a living to repair a line out!!

What Are You Eating or What Have You Just Eaten?
mercury_in_flames replied to atrain's topic in The Loft
im surprised this thread isnt dead lol, I just about never eat at my computer, and when I am eating anything there, I cant be bothered to write it here lol -
Well thought i;d report back. Since I took my hifi for service, ive had these morons replace the wrong part (the line in instead of the LINE OUT - the fact that i told them the line out was faulty and the receptionist wrote something along the lines of low 'volume', says it all. So they take it back again after a month, they repair the line out, but after 2 days its broken again, and doesnt work at all (do these guys suck or what?), and to top that off, the flip down panel at the front which is meant to glide down smoothly now seems to be going against something on the way down and has even stopped half way down, instead of opening like it should. So, what have we learnt, people havent got a clue about servicing sony stuff. Well, I bought another years service plan a week ago from another firm, and will phone them to see what they say, whether they will repair it. I will probably take it to this place again, seeing as their 'repair' HA! is garanteed for 3 months, i should ask them why dont you make it a week seeing as you cant repair a hifi to save yourselves. As you can see I am ticked of f beyond measure.

hehe, mines 380kb. Oh, and I dont think mine is distracting as theres hardly any movement and the colours are quite dull. Unlike the gif images which have say 19 frames and 'flash' more, those i find are more distracting.
