  1. for our gif images, dont users with dial-up have to load them? And if they delete their temp internet files, download them again, making the site a hassle? Although I suppose most people nowadays have above 56k connections.
  2. i think it probably is a placebo in my case as I probably turn it up gradually and get used the volume and next thing I know, its at full volume. Im not on a street or anything, and the heating is on in my house in the evening over here.
  3. Well seeing as there isnt a sig thread, or at least i cant remember there being one, In my sig, I made a little gif movie from a nearly empty packet of biscuits, being blown about by the air ducts on my hifi speaker
  4. Hey all, I have always found that my micro system seems a LOT louder in the evening. I am in the uk, and I am thinking its because the current is lower during the day than at night. During the day I can easily turn it up to full volume without breaking a sweat, but in the evening, it seem SO much more powerful, am i imagining this?? Anyone else experienced anything like this?
  5. dont charge it too much though or it will expand and then be useless. keep an eye in it.
  6. its no comparison, search the gallery and see my pictures of my ex81's, the cables fray after a year or so. If you have the money, go for the shures. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/gre...sony/ex81/4.jpg
  7. lol, as much as i like md, sony will never beat mp3 with himd, the write speed is too slow, when you compare it to transfer to a hard disk or flash memory. just my 2 cents. For a medium that you can reuse, and record from many sources, md does that for me. For a portable means of carrying around my music, its mp3/atrac player.
  8. have got about 50 gigs space free right now on external hard disk, so didnt REALLY need to buy these, but have yet to use 16x dvd+r 4.7 gb discs with my dvd writer, and only have about 4 left so thought i'd splurge
  9. I've got a few Sony ES 74 mins to trade, still in shrink wrap. Check my blank disc gallery to see what i already have if you are interested in an ES. I've also got 1 shrink wrapped tdk XS-iV bow wow, that I would trade for a shrink wrapped bit club or like limited edition disc.
  10. i doubt these are called fine due to amazing quality, i think its called fine because they are just that, fine, as in plain, nothing fabulous lol.
  11. Ive got a P4 2.8ghz with 470 ram and 128 mb grafix ram. Mine is pretty quick by my standards when encoding to 132kb atrac. I don't suppose you were running other programs in the background i.e internet, messenger etc? Try encoding with nothing in the background? What bit rate atrac were you encoding to?
  12. Mine is of Nelson Muntz from the simpsons. As much as homer and bart will always be my favourite characters,I'll always smile at those *punch*...HAW HAW!!'s lol
  13. perhaps some superglue? ever need to remove them, just scratch away the glue with a knife.
  14. i just remembered the film 'uncle buck' with the long since gone, John Candy, and remembered this song, and acquire it for a listen; Mr Sandman; the chordettes haha
  15. maaaaybe you need the base of the unit to connect it to computer..
  16. OMG! lol you got a jb980 too ey, congrats man You HAVE to do a pictorial and when i say have to, i mean have to.
  17. kontraband.com << loads of funny videos and stuff http://www.sonyproductinformatie.nl << i go here for hi res photos of sony stuff, i.e like the ones on the sony.jp site but obviously as it isnt in kanji, i can find what i want alot easier at times, and there is the odd photo of older products not around anymore such as my mds-jb980. and another goody i think; for watching t.v from elsewhere around the globe. Not amazing but worth taking a peek.: http://wwitv.com/portal.htm
  18. Another thing ive noticed is that if I am burning a dual layer disc and doing other things like using the internet, msn messenger etc, There is a much higher chance of me getting an error along the way. In fact, while burning dual layer discs by a brand called TuffDisc, of about 10, 3 became coasters. I did however update my firmware after that, and of course am not using those anymore.
  19. So far for dvd+r (4.7gig)media, ive tried Imation, Sony, both 8x speed media. They work for video and data like a charm, never had a dud. http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B...4060430-9242217 Is there any particular reason to go for dual layer instead of double layer 8.5 gig discs, apart from compatibility?? I've head DVD+R DL is more compatible with dvd players.
  20. I was checking out my nero drive test app. yesterday, and i put in a sony dvd+rw disc and a ricoh dual layer disc, and they both showed up as being made by ricoh, no bull.
