for our gif images, dont users with dial-up have to load them? And if they delete their temp internet files, download them again, making the site a hassle? Although I suppose most people nowadays have above 56k connections.

Placebo? HIFI System is louder in the evening?
mercury_in_flames replied to mercury_in_flames's topic in The Loft
i think it probably is a placebo in my case as I probably turn it up gradually and get used the volume and next thing I know, its at full volume. Im not on a street or anything, and the heating is on in my house in the evening over here. -
Well seeing as there isnt a sig thread, or at least i cant remember there being one, In my sig, I made a little gif movie from a nearly empty packet of biscuits, being blown about by the air ducts on my hifi speaker

Hey all, I have always found that my micro system seems a LOT louder in the evening. I am in the uk, and I am thinking its because the current is lower during the day than at night. During the day I can easily turn it up to full volume without breaking a sweat, but in the evening, it seem SO much more powerful, am i imagining this?? Anyone else experienced anything like this?

Charging time for Ni-14WM 1400mah in Sony BC-7DC2 charger ?
mercury_in_flames replied to burns3016's topic in Minidisc
dont charge it too much though or it will expand and then be useless. keep an eye in it. -
its no comparison, search the gallery and see my pictures of my ex81's, the cables fray after a year or so. If you have the money, go for the shures. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v318/gre...sony/ex81/4.jpg

lol, as much as i like md, sony will never beat mp3 with himd, the write speed is too slow, when you compare it to transfer to a hard disk or flash memory. just my 2 cents. For a medium that you can reuse, and record from many sources, md does that for me. For a portable means of carrying around my music, its mp3/atrac player.

Ive got a P4 2.8ghz with 470 ram and 128 mb grafix ram. Mine is pretty quick by my standards when encoding to 132kb atrac. I don't suppose you were running other programs in the background i.e internet, messenger etc? Try encoding with nothing in the background? What bit rate atrac were you encoding to?

kontraband.com << loads of funny videos and stuff http://www.sonyproductinformatie.nl << i go here for hi res photos of sony stuff, i.e like the ones on the sony.jp site but obviously as it isnt in kanji, i can find what i want alot easier at times, and there is the odd photo of older products not around anymore such as my mds-jb980. and another goody i think; for watching t.v from elsewhere around the globe. Not amazing but worth taking a peek.: http://wwitv.com/portal.htm

(dual layer) Blank Media- What brands do you prefer?
mercury_in_flames replied to mercury_in_flames's topic in The Loft
Another thing ive noticed is that if I am burning a dual layer disc and doing other things like using the internet, msn messenger etc, There is a much higher chance of me getting an error along the way. In fact, while burning dual layer discs by a brand called TuffDisc, of about 10, 3 became coasters. I did however update my firmware after that, and of course am not using those anymore. -

(dual layer) Blank Media- What brands do you prefer?
mercury_in_flames replied to mercury_in_flames's topic in The Loft
So far for dvd+r (4.7gig)media, ive tried Imation, Sony, both 8x speed media. They work for video and data like a charm, never had a dud. http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B...4060430-9242217 Is there any particular reason to go for dual layer instead of double layer 8.5 gig discs, apart from compatibility?? I've head DVD+R DL is more compatible with dvd players. -
