Just judging on the link of "voltageconverters," he/she is probably wanting to use it on an MD unit that came with a Japanese AC or one that isn't compatible with the voltage of their country. kruskev: Your link is dead. Try posting the item # and image, or a description.

lol Lactose intolerance would kind of piss me off.

Thanks for the review and pictorial. I like the style of Logitech thinnies. I was at Staples the other day and looking at the Logitech DiNovo cordless set (thin keyboard, mouse, thin numeric pad). The mouse of the DiNovo is pretty cheapy, too, for a set costing US$130. But I do like how the numeric keypad is separate (so that would make for more balanced lap-typing, as you put it). I'm hoping for a thin model similar to these Logitechs that is bluetooth and affordable. I wish these thin sets came with a mouse similar to my old Intellimouse. I like the extra thumb buttons.

Which are the best brands of MD media?
jaylen replied to daibhead's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
TDK is my top choice, too, for MD and DVDs. If you're interested in seeing examples of their designs, this forum has a good section for discs in "Product Reviews/Pictorials." And also, this one shows TONS of brands of MDs (both designer and non-designer discs): Oliver Richter's MD -
Does this include the radio function?

Which are the best brands of MD media?

Personally, I'd stay away from Memorex. Those gave me skipping problems for some reason. In addition to Greg's comments, I remember reading that people also pay some attention to the sliding door - preferring metal shutters over plastic ones. -
Haha, very true. ^ Thank goodness for that, eh?

Hey, Ray, I bought some 3m and 6m fiber optic TOSlink A/V dubbing cables from RadioShack at the price you posted earlier.

1. As far as I know, only 2nd generation Hi-MD units can play native mp3 (I think the RH1 can, too, but not sure) so I think it's a hardware issue. The RH10 and RH910 and their Mac counterparts. Here is the MDCF browser that lists the specs of most of the newer units and pretty much all the older units: MDCF equipment browser 3. I've seen the DH710 on sale on US eBay, but it is a downloader-only unit, and for the same price you can get an NH700/NHF800 brand new (also on eBay). 4. I have older MD units and I can use them with the latest SonicStage that can be downloaded for free on this forum. Macs can only be used with the RH1 (not out yet) and the M100 and M10, which are Mac siblings of the RH10 and RH910, I think. Here is a thread on that: Mac compatible Hi-MD Good luck!

1kyle: What is the brand and type of sticker paper that you use for your labels? Thanks.
-
If that store has another contest, but this time for the RH1, you'd better enter it... or else. Kidding. Maybe you can get your brother and girlfriend to join this forum now. Congratulations on your prize.

Actually, the ones suggested are more for portable use (px100 folds and cx300 are buds) instead of home use, although plenty of people use both at home. KSC35 or KSC75 seem to get the thumbs up. And px100 are known for their bass. I would wait for more first-hand reviews of the RH1 instead of getting the RH10. Since you didn't like the HD digital amp of the NH900, then the non-HD digital amp (as people say, "no benefit towards sound") of the RH10 may disappoint you.

It will be a race to see which forum can answer this first. T-Board's original question p.w.

Thanks for the good read. Let's go, Sony, let's go. *clap clap* I sure hope there's more to come after the RH1.

Saw that for the first time in this forum: Buffalo

A few questions to my new lcd remote RM-MC51EL

That would be my guess. -

A few questions to my new lcd remote RM-MC51EL
jaylen replied to Master of Disaster's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
Here is a sticky about all the forum-known remotes: A Guide to Sony LCD Remotes If you play around enough with your 51EL and learn more about its functions, you should ask to include this model in the forum's remote guide. -
In addition to Volta's suggestion, you should also invest in some bass-friendly headphones (if you haven't already done so). Maybe the Sennheiser PX100. Or check out Head-Fi.org for more options. Give the NH900 another chance.

lol. Uhh, camille hasn't ditched Apple. Just the Nano.

A few questions to my new lcd remote RM-MC51EL
jaylen replied to Master of Disaster's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
Not heard of the MC51EL, but the MC55ELK looks similar to your attached image. Here are some good 55ELK close-ups: Ishiyoshi's pictorial From an old thread: "RM-MC55ELK -- supplied with D-NE920, D-NE20. The RM-MC55ELK has backlight option and supports kanji/kana, hangul (korean) character compatibility, 16-18 roman character display and 9 multi-language character display. It has special animations when starting-up MD, and accessing/editing sound-modes. "scroll-type" level w/ corresponding button on the left side of remote allows quick access of functions such as sound, menu, play mode, et al. Right side has new 'search' button. Volume knob +/- is separate from reverted-style of the +/- group folder, |<</>>| twist knob; twist knob similar to 11EL rocker switch -- group folder: left, |<</>>|: right. Stop and play/pause button below 'search' button. New-style 360° alligator clip. HOLD switch to the left of the clip." Hope this helps. If not, I'd PM Ishiyoshi as he has working knowledge of this remote in addition to akijikan. Good luck! -
A lot of people (myself included) will buy players to reduce wear on their recorders. Check out this thread started by Nismo as to why some MD users have more than 1 unit. Maybe it will give you some ideas. Why do you have multiple recorders/players? And with e-tailers like Audiocubes or Minidisc Access or even Ebay still going strong, you shouldn't have any problems finding a replacement RH910 or similar.

When my car initially came out, only auto was available. A year after I got it, the manual tranny was introduced.
-
lol @ The Low Volta. I was thinking the same thing. Only because I got total deja-vu when answering the question. And if I do a search, I'm sure my answers were pretty much the identical.

I think if you post your problem in the "Hi-MD" section instead of this one (if the Mods aren't going to move this thread, that is), you'll get quicker help . Good luck!
