No, I have not seen them all, yet. But, I would love, too. The Tsutaiya near my home does not have all of them. sad.gif

Another great movie series is TOEI studios version of Miyamoto Musashi.

Not to be confussed with NHK's 80's Musashi, or NHK's 2003-2004 version.

See this link for a review:

I have yet to watch TOEI Studio's version of Miyamoto Musashi. It sure sounds promising.

It is, but it is aslo long. Have you seen either of these movies?

Tamayura no onna http://www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos/ASIN/B...6248988-4839556

I have not seen either of these movies. Right now, I am waiting eagerly to acquire the much anticipated Criterion Edition of Akira Kurosawa's Kagemusha. I have watched Kagemusha countless of times and it's just brilliant.

I'm not sure it was either Lord Of The Rings or The Mummy

Because I assume most of you have seen this here is my tip:

http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000...1828890-1421646 The only problem could be that it is probably only available in German

But then go on with this: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...&s=dvd&n=507846

Saw this movie called "When I Close My Eyes" AKA "Love Letter" the other day.....

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0113703/

Fantastic movie.

Actually I watched this as a follow up to another movie last week, also another very fantastic movie: "Il Mare" AKA "Siworae"

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0282599/

Il Mare is going to be remade in Hollypoop starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra bullock, hope they don't rename it something like "Speed- Just Slower" or something like that. tongue.giflaugh.gif

Ishiyoshi said.......I have yet to watch TOEI Studio's version of Miyamoto Musashi. It sure sounds promising.

Ishi, I have all 3 of Samurai's(Miyamoto Musashi) from the Criterion, is TOEI Studio's version any different from them? Love these movie and old LoneWolf and Cub series as well as ZatoIchi and Oichi movies.

I saw "Be Cool" on Tuesday night.

Worth watching for the exceptional performances from The Rock (as Elliot the gay bodyguard) and Vince Vaughn as the low-life he is guarding. Especially The Rock.

Other sterling performances from 'Cedric the Entertainer', and Andre 3000 (from Outkast).

However, as a piece of cinema, it fails to gel. It is a film which might have sounded good on paper, but turns out be be less than the sum of its parts. It fails to 'be cool', if you will.

Overall score - 5/10.

To compare sequels - Be Cool is to Get Shorty as Oceans Twelve is to Oceans Eleven.

Just saw "Last Life In The Universe/Ruang rak noi nid mahasan" IMDB link last night(a couple of rewinds/repeats as well biggrin.gif ).

If you like movies like "Lost In Translation", this is going a good one for you. Tadanobu Asano (Kakihara in Ichi the Killer) did a very good job there, although his character in this movie is on the opposite spectrum than in Ichi The Killer.

Christopher Doyle did the Cinematography (you may be familiar with his work in Hero) and also cameo appearance by Takashi Miike. Available on DVD, a keeper for me. Good for repeated viewing.

Hello everyone.  My first post here.

Welcome KrazyIvan. wink.gif

I watched the "House of Flying Daggers" over the weekend. The plot, however, was weak and could use further refinement. But, the film as a whole was visually brilliant and the costumes were fantastic. Excellent cinematography!

that flick bored me to tears. it's god awful boring!! no wonder French renaming the title to 'Love Story' something to that effect.

Two that spring imediately to mind...

Garden State last night, which apart from the swearing was very impressive I thought.

The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy on Monday evening, a few things changed from the book granted, but I think they worked in the context of the film, and it is viciously funny from the end of the first third forward..! laugh.gif

I saw National Treasure and Everest this week. National Treasure was a surprise, I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. Everest was a let down though. I expected more than just a 45min travel diary. It was moving though, I do not regret watching it at all.

"Hero" (I'm addicted to Martial Arts movies right now) as well, I am watching "Dogville" right now. It looks promising, and obscure.

I also watched a DVD from a Emo/Hardcore band called "Story of the Year". It's them playing in St. Louis, the band has crazy amounts of energy. The guitarists do synchronized ninja kicks while playing guitars. It was so great me and my pals spent a good hour trying to imitate the kicks.

Better that than Hero I guess. (In the sense of me and my friends imitating it, rather than the quality of the film. Hero rocked my socks.)

Hero was fantastic - I will be buying it for my PSP soon, an absolutely stunning piece with amazing imagery.

As for this topic, I've seen Star Wars Episode III about three times in the last month.

I've seen it FIVE times, two in a row!!... laugh.giflaugh.giflaugh.giflaugh.gif
