  1. Where are the pics at? I am curious to see it.
  2. I am about 20 miles from I-70 but I'm even further East than you Azureal, I'm near Pittsburgh. Nice lot for sale also.
  3. Just by counting it up, I would say that each rack will hold about 54. So 108 total but that's just a rough estimate.
  4. My house has 3 different component stereo systems in it. One in the garage (amp, 5 CD changer, tuner, cassette deck), one in the game room (amp, 5 CD changer, MD deck, cassette deck, turntable) and one in the living room (amp, 5 CD changer). Having a component stereo was always important to me ever since I was 15. And I have a feeling that it probably always will be. I would feel lost without one.
  5. I personally contacted one of the former band members and he hooked me up.
  6. Man, I didn't know there was that many Bit Clubs released. I only have 1 original bar code Bit Club. I wish I would've gotten into Minidisc when I wanted to in the early 90's instead of the 2005. Money was a factor in that choice, of course though.
  7. I bought a car unit, an MDX-C150, off of Ebay a few years ago and I won it for $0.99. Shipping was $11 though. It said it was faulty but when I hooked it up at my friend's house, it worked just fine. There was even a store bought Bruce Springsteen MD in it. I used it for a little bit and then resold it on Ebay after I got an MDX- CA790X for my car.
  8. My MZ-M200 (or RH1) has the problem with the forward/ fast forward button not working. I used to use it to record this local band that I know and I ended up dropping it once or twice and luckily I only put a few scratches on it. Now I just use some of my other portables to record the shows and then use the M200 just for uploading to my computer. I want to preserve it for as long as I can because a replacement unit will cost alot.
  9. Nice pick up. Two summers ago I bought an unopened Hi-MD and about 50 blanks MD's for about $150 off of Craigslist. I needed some cash last year so I ended up selling the unopened Hi-MD though. I keep checking but they don't seem to come up very often around my area. I currently have an email out to someone near me for minidiscs but they haven't replied back yet.
  10. I look at any local store to me for anything minidisc and none of them ever have any. I wish that I could find some just one time. It would be so nice to buy some minidiscs at a store again.
  11. I used to record concerts with my MZ-M200 and now I just use it to transfer my shows to my computer. I dropped once or twice and luckily I didn't do any real damage to it except for a few scratches. So now I use my other recorders for shows so that I don't take any unnecessary chances with it again. It has to last me a long time and a replacement unit is going to be way more expensive to buy in a few years time.
  12. Did you get them yet? If so, what kind were in the lot. That's a heck of an awesome deal. Keep us posted, please.
  13. I bought a couple of 5 packs of Hi-MD's for about $50 each about 4 years ago. I probably have close to 20 of them and I don't really use them all that much anymore. I mostly use the 80 minute or 74 minute discs anymore. I have some music on them that I recorded but the recorders got to be a pain because of the gumstick batteries. AA's are so much easier to find for my MDLP units. I use the Energizer Lithium AA batteries and they last a LONG time, especially when recording. I never really experimented all that much with the AA battery sidecars for my Hi-MD units. Maybe I should. Hmmmmmmmmmm
  14. I love the TDK WA series discs. They just look so awesome. I have a box locked up with about 60 or so MD's that are still sealed. Some are kind of rare while others are just the "common" ones that we see all of the time. I think I have somewhere around 300 or so total MD's, be it 80 minute, 74 minute and a handful of 60 minute discs but I'm still always looking for more to collect.
  15. I emailed. We'll see if anything comes of it though.
  16. There was a Nine Inch Nails album on Minidisc? Which one?
  17. The seller didn't actually say what kind of music is on it although the picture of the minidisc kind of gives it away. I guess the way the seller looks at is that he is selling a minidisc that happens to have music on it. I didn't see anywhere that it listed what exactly was on it although the picture implies otherwise. I still wouldn't sell them like that though. To me, it's different if you buy a whole lot of minidiscs (like 10 or 50 or 100) that have music on them. I've done that before but I just erased them so I had the blank discs.
  18. You could use Audacity (a free program) to split up the 2 hour tracks into shorter tracks.
  19. I think that an MZ-RH1 or MZ-NH900 (with a back-lit or OLED display) type of machine that would use the Blu-Ray technology would be pretty nice. You could have up to 4GB or 8GB or possibly more. That would mean over 5 hours of PCM recording on one disc. To run on AA batteries would be a major plus, too. It would never happen but there is nothing wrong with dreaming.
  20. You are correct but they can be uploaded to computer with an RH1 or M200 (the last Hi-MD ever made).
  21. I've had my 160GB ipod for about 5 years now and haven't had any real problems with it. I have taken apart my friends' ipods to replace batteries and hard drives so I have a little bit of experience with it so when it comes to fixing mine I should be ok. It is a pain in the butt though. I've also been buying some older ipod minis from 2005 and replacing the batteries and also replacing the 4GB or 6GB hard drives with 32GB or 64GB compact flash cards. Supposedly the flash memory uses less battery power but I haven't seen it yet. It's just too bad that ipods and mp3 players aren't as easily fixed as our Minidisc players. I really wish that MD had become the ultimate format for audio listening and what not. I feel that it truly was/is the ultimate format, far superior to cassettes and CDs in alot of ways. It's all about what is the easiest (laziest) option for some people. I know that recently I have been guilty of it. As much as I enjoy making a custom MD mix, it can be time consuming and a pain sometimes.
  22. Good article. I really love the MD format and don't plan on giving it up. I have a whole bunch that will last a long time for me (hopefully the rest of my life). I just need to make some mixes with my blanks and use them more often. I just recently put my MDX-CA790X into my Pontiac Fiero so that I can use them when I drive it. If they would have been cheaper, I would've bought one back in the 90's when I first heard about them. Oh well, I still use them to record concerts though.
  23. Very nice! I have some of them as well. I only have about 30 or so pre-recorded MD's. I wish they still made them.
