  1. Happy Birthday Jonny! - Have a great day
  2. You may want to re-install MDAC completely by downloading it from the MS site: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;DisplayLang=en
  3. I agree with Bland - works ok for me with Firefox & IE7. Try another browser and let us know.
  4. The X-B8 is a bookshelf as opposed to a deck, but the Onkyo Hi-MD bookshelves in my opinion are streets ahead of the Sony ones. The actual day to day features of most of the Onkyo bookshelves are very similar across all models (apart from the one with the Bluetooth adaptor), the main differences seem to be in the speaker variations and finishing.
  5. I'm a bit late to the party on this one, but as I've said elsewhere, I'm really happy with the X-B8 I bought earlier this year. The SQ is outstandingsome excellent connection options - optical in + out (cd only) / rca in x 3 / rca out x 2 + plus subwoofer outnice timer functions for recording from line / opt / fm/am etc...World band FMone touch dubbing of cd to Hi-MDand it looks pretty good to boot..
  6. Thanks, I didn't take the DH10P - just the NH1 with the noise-cancelling phones for the plane. In fact the only time I listened to any music was on the plane and on the Amtrak from Boston to NYC. The security was generally not too bad at the airports. Coming out of Amsterdam you had to go through the whole "screening" process at the gate complete with mini-interview... in the US itself I actually had more security coming out of Baltimore to go to Albany where they put you through the whole body scanner thing that fires jets of air at you. JFK had hardly any checks at all and the whole process took around 15 mins from check-in to gate..
  7. You should be able to transfer either MP3 tracks or WAV's as PCM to the RH1 from your Mac using the latest version of the Hi-MD Music Transfer for Mac software from the downloads section. * Moved to Software Discussion
  8. I know - I should've contacted you before I left, but the last three days before we flew out were a nightmare, I was working 14hr days trying to finish off some project and just didn't have time to do anything. If I'm back in NY, I'll drop you a note...
  9. I just returned from a fantastic trip to the US and if anyone would like to see some of the photos I took while I was over there, they are in the following galleries: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?act=m...m&album=275 http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?act=m...m&album=276 (NB: I haven't had time to label all the pictures)

  14. Estoy de acuerdo. Aqui se acaba.
  15. Like Ishii says you should be able to upgrade no issue without re-importing anything. I have done this from version 2.1 to 4.0 without ever backing up the library. You don't need to uninstall the current version just do an in-place upgrade.
  16. I must say I haven't had too much time for films lately, but I did manage to see Superman Returns at the cinema last weekend which I thought was not too bad at all and "La Haine" on the Ultimate Edition DVD that I picked up a few weeks ago. I hadn't see this one for ages (perhaps not since it first came out) and it certinaly hasn't lost any of it's impact.
  17. Thanks Tommy - the white EH50 looks pretty smart. Nice acquisition.
  18. I thought I recalled the battery expansion seemed to be mainly be an issue with dodgy batteries bought from ebay as opopsed to genuine ones... I've never had any issues charging the Sony NH-14WM in my NH900. Admittedly I don't use it that often anymore...
  19. As far as I'm aware none of the current Onkyo models support MP3 playback from Hi-MD discs, although I must confess I haven't tried it on mine. The X-N7UWX Hi-MD bookshelf supports bluetooth streaming from the PC - I'm not sure if this includes MP3's.

  21. The 40ELK should be fine as long as you use App-Locale to run SS when transferring the tracks - at least it was when I tried it with a Euro RH1. (No service mode adjustments made as far as I am aware) [attachmentid=1988] The default 38EL that comes with the US / EU RH1's doesn't have the hardware capability on the remote itself to display double-byte characters. Were the tracks you were transferring on to a legacy formatted MD? If so there is I think a second regedit you may need to which is again in Ishiyoshi's pinned thread.
