Zizone's NW-S706F/Black Review (edit: 2007/2/22)
kerfuffle replied to Zizone_'s topic in Product Reviews/Pictorials
I think earphones are under the one year warranty. When my NW-HD1's earphones broke, my cousin told me to go and swap it for a new set, as my Walkman was still under warranty (why she didn't tell me this four years ago, when my first Walkman's earphones broke under warranty, I'll never know). I managed to swap my NW-HD1's earphones for the NW-HD5's earphones (because they didn't have any NW-HD1s in stock anymore). -
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I doubt you'd be able to unlock the volume for your NW-E002. There hasn't been a volume hack for any of Sony's flash players so far.
-
Non-European versions of the NW-E00x will be louder than the European versions, because French legislation requires that the sound be capped in MP3 players.
-
Yeah, but compare the prices of the MDR-EX90 and the CX300. One's frickin' AUD$199 (good one Sony ") and the other is AUD$79. Sometimes, you have to look at budget too, when buying new earphones.
-
Ooo, I want one. xD (I'll probably have to wait until my NW-HD1 breaks or something before my parents will buy me a new one.) Nice pictures! Your earphones look a bit dusty, though.

Maybe your songs are encoded in high bitrates e.g. 256kbps. Also, if you browse on your Walkman heaps, it spins up the hard drive, which means more battery power is used. And if you use the backlight as well, that's more battery power used. If you have your music in atrac3plus, you get a better battery life. Sony quotes forty hours for the NW-HD5 when the songs are encoded at 48kbps.

I was browsing the Sony site this morning, and the price of the NW-S70x series have gone down. O_O You can now get the NW-S705F for $329 and the NW-S706F for $399. Hmm . . . an extra $100 over the 4GB iPod, and you get built in noise-cancelling, decent earphones (which they should have done with the NW-HD1 - to justify its asking price of $599), great sound quality, direct analog recording and a radio. Not bad for $399, I reckon. Edit: Sort of off-topic, but so have the NW-S20x series, by $50. But not the NW-E00x models (and the green NW-E005F is still ninety-nine cents more expensive than the other colours).

Actually, I'm female. O_O But I wasn't refering to the large size of your font. You could have just said that you didn't know what he was talking about and could he please explain what WindowsBlinds was. But meh. I'm just an Australian with a 'sense of macho display'. "

Mine's taking three to four percent while playing a song.

Sure. When you're in the Album view (on the left hand side), you can sort by Artist, Album, Genre, or Date Imported. Select Sort by Genre, then under the Quick Search, look to see if the Genre you want to get rid of is there. If there is, right click on the Album, select Properties, then change the Genre to one of your choice. Do that for each album that has the same Genre you want to get rid of. Then when you refresh the screen, the Genre shouldn't be listed in the Quick Search on the left hand side of the screen. Hope that works.

You could try and install SonicStage CP 4.2. You can use that with your NW-A3000. And yep, it's got release date, ratings and has the Artist Link thingyo.
-
Well, the way your first post was going, it sounded like you were an advanced computer user. Ishiyoshi was only trying to be helpful. O_O
-
Ooh! I think I know - in Album view, for some reason, the old genres still appear. You have to rename them while in Album view, then you can get rid of the genre you want to get rid of.
-
It's possible - if you rename the Genre in the song file's tag.
-
Um, every Walkman's got AVLS. That's got nothing to do with the problems owners of European models are having with their Walkman's sound. The problem they are having with it is due to French legislation.
-
But if you initialise it, you'll lose your 300+ songs on your VAIO pocket. O_O I'm assuming the opening poster doesn't keep every song that he has on his player on his computer.
-
You'd be able to transfer songs from the 2nd computer to the HD5, but you can't transfer them back to the Library in your 1st computer.
-
Agree with Stuge's post above. And I've read here that if you download the Asia-Pacific version of SonicStage, you don't have to initialise your Walkman. But if you want Connect music store, I think you have to download some add-on somewhere, 'cause the Asia-Pacific version doesn't have Connect music store.

Can I play music downloaded from iTunes on my NWA3000?
kerfuffle replied to ConnectUser's topic in Software
The only problem is that you'll lose some sound quality if you burn the song to a CD, then rip it from the CD. -
My first Walkman (D-351) from 2002 still works - but I lost the battery cover for it. And my NW-HD1 will be two years old in March. xD
-
I have no idea, really. No offence, but I find that watching cricket is boring.
-
Can we get over the Sony Walkman vs. iPod thing? *rolls eyes*
-
Sure am. But I don't care about cricket. McGrath was on the front page of The Sunday Telegraph today with his kiddos.

Well, it's a bit hard to help you if you don't provide the error code. There's tons of them, so we wouldn't know which error code you're referring to.
-
And it also depends on what you think sounds good. We all have different ears. xD
