I really don't think that was what killed them. IMHO 90% of the music buying public just didn't give a crap about the the higher quality sound. Most just wanted to see how many tunes they could cram into their iPods. After all, many manufacturers (except for Sony of course) started making dual SACD/DVD-A players. I have one made by Denon. Yamaha and Marantz were couple of others. I seriously doubt whether or not any type of Blu-ray audio format would ever catch on. It's a great thought, but too much of a niche format. Manfacturers are going to shy away from it. Especially after what happened to SACD and DVD-A...

Yeah, it's too bad the Cavs couldn't handle Orlando. I think they would have matched up much better against the Lakers. This could be a sweep for LA...

Stuge's MZ-DH10P-Black (Minidisc Walkman) review

It doesn't have an optical in jack, either. Which is why I never went for one. IMHO, any unit in this price range should have that... -
A Hi-MD car unit...

I always thought the EH70 used a standard NH-14W gumstick. Am I incorrect here? If so, a better option might be getting a wall charger. It's always been my experience they do a better job anyway. I have the GP model...

Sadly, the Sharp HP-MD33's are no longer made and nearly impossible to find. There have been variants, but none have the four pole design. Other than the ones furnished when you purchased a new unit, there was one other Sharp model offered at Audiocubes years back, but I can't remember the model # or even what it looked like.

I own the DR7, DR80 and DS77 and have never noticed any difference in using the 4 to 3 pole adaptor with any headphones. I remember when I got my first unit wondering what the heck the adapter was for. However, in my opinion the sound greatly benefits from these Auvi units when you use 4 pole headphones. The sound is rather ordinary and inferior to the Sony units with the other phones I have.

They've got to be still manufacturing blanks for sale in Japan. On a side note, didn't Victor or some other hardware manufacturer just make a boombox recently with MD included? (Japan only of course...)

http://www.audiotstation.com/forum/index.php Although now called the Audio T-Board, it started out as the Minidisc-T-Station. Many members here belong. They still have a Minidisc topic section.

Actually, MDC is selling the RH1 brand new for $265.59 USD. Even the MZM-200 is under $300. But considering some of the other items offered, this seems like a good deal...

When will they ever learn? Sony is going to new format itself out of business someday...

Sony MZ-EH70 Silver plus extras...As always like new!

The DS30 is a player only unit. Sadly, Sharp never got into Hi-MD... -
Good luck. Sony didn't intend for the MZ-E10 or N10 batteries to be user replaceable. The E10 manual does give instructions on how to remove the cell for ecological reasons before disposing of the unit. One would assume just reversing the steps should you want to install a replacement, but it apparently isn't that easy. Some have tried with limited success. Just do a search, I think TBR has done it. I'd like to try as well because mine is completely gone. But I would also wonder if any of the replacement cells are new enough now to make much of a difference...

I bought a lot of these five packs brand new last year from Sears. They were blowing them out at $1.97 each...

Wow, this was actually the first MD player I had. I purchased it as a "bundle" with an MDS-JE520 deck back in 1998. To answer your question, the Atrac version makes absolutely no difference. Older units can actually play any version of SP made on the newer decks. The MZ-EP11 is an SP only unit. It won't play LP2 or LP4. Are you trying to play those modes?

The MZ-R91 is not a NetMD device. It came before the OpenMG era. Therefore you can't use Sonicstage with it...

Onkyo Intec 275 Series Pictorial Review

Beautiful setup! Funny, though, how the CD player has digital outputs with nowhere to go on the amp or Hi-MD unit... -
This might help...

How do you figure that? In truth, it's the exact opposite. If you can find a seller that actually accepts payment directly by credit card, you're protected if you don't receive the merchandise. If you use Paypal, all they are is a money transfer service. Even if you use a credit card to send the funds to Paypal, once the funds are sent to the buyer Paypal has fulfilled their obligation and you have no chargeback rights. I realize eBay has some measure of protection now for the buyer in certain instances. But that's not always the case in every transaction and certainly not if you use Paypal outside of eBay.

Not sure if it's related...but I've had the same problem a few times (very few) on material that was transferred to disc on Sonicstage. I believed it to be disc related because the problem would go away if I tried a different disc with the same material...

Where do you get your info that SP recordings made through hardware (decks) are cut off at 19 khz? There are also more factors than just frequency response when it comes to the sound quality of recordings.

I agree. You're comparing apples and oranges here. Besides, if you really are concerned about the quantity of music in a DAP, you can do a lot better than the capacity of the Touch. Even if you stuck with an iPod... I bought a Zune 80 a few months back and absolutely love the sound quality. It's a great iPod alternative if you're worried about the "sheep" status...

I can think of a certain someone who is going to be contacting you to see if any of those items are up for sale...
