MarC's HiMDRenderer program may work as well: http://www.marcnetsystem.co.uk/ SonicStage and MarC's program are the only ones that will comvert OMA/OMG files correctly.

Here you go: http://www.minidisc.org/cloning_procedure.html If this procedure will work with your unit, simply create the "source" disc as an SP disc and clone that TOC to your damaged disc. Feel free to PM me if you need help, I have plenty of TOC cloning experience.
-
I'm with you on that one. Though I do remember seeing posted that if you press stop (and let the unit write the TOC) after each step, you'll be okay. Not that I would want to try it though.

In short, the MZ-RH1 is the only model that will do this. Here is some good info: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=7070 EDIT: You're a quick one greenmachine..

Yes. First insert a standard MD into your DH10P. Now in the Transfer screen of SonicStage, select "Net MD" from the "Mode" drop down box (see below). This will install the "Net MD" driver on your PC. Now we go into "Transfer Settings" by one of the following methods. Go to Tools/Options/Transfer/Net MD and click on "Transfer Settings", or just click on the following icon in the transfer screen on SonicStage (below the red arrows). From here you can choose LP2/LP4 or SP "Compatibility Mode". Keep in mind that SP "Compatibility Mode" will play on older units (non-MDLP compatible units) but this format is only 132kbps ("true" SP is 292kbps, search the forums for "fake sp" for more info).

You can use a standard AA battery for the N707.
-
You can use SonicStage to transfer LP2/LP4 (and "SP Compatible") formats to any Hi-MD recorder. The 1st gen and the RH1 are the only units that will record those formats on the units themselves though (and you have to use a standard MD disc either way, not a 1GB Hi-MD disc). Keep in mind that if you record in the older formats with a 1st gen recorder (on the unit itself), you will not be able to upload these recordings to PC.

You will need a program such as WinZip/7-Zip/WinRAR to extract SimpleBurner from the .zip file that you downloaded here. 7-Zip is a freeware program, and can be found here: http://www.7-zip.org/

Transferring MD-PC without Line-In?
raintheory replied to bobbyo's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
Do a search for "USB Line-In" on Google or similar.. There are various products (most, if not all are marketed towards notebook computers that lack line-in) that would suit your needs. You should be able to find one relatively cheap anyways. -
Hmm, that NPR article is from April 1st... April Fools?

For starters, you may want to upgrade to one of the latest SonicStage versions (4.2 or 4.3) and see if that helps any of the software issues. Beyond that, the only other thing I can mention is that others have had problems with loose or corroded battery terminals in their units that woul;d cause the player to restart on its own, like you mentioned.

Yep, this program is recommended by most of the experienced users here. In fact, it is actually available in the downloads section here in the forums.

I had thought that type R/S only dealt with legacy/MDLP // I'm not sure though, but for some reason I remember reading that.
-
Where are you getting the 8 bit info? Can you provide a link/references/etc? I always thought MD was 16 bit... EDIT: LinearPCM via Hi-MD is 16bit 44.1kHz

I use FLAC personally. Great open-source lossless codec.

I'm a musician myself, so I love them for that reason, and have used them since the beginning. I also have always been a fan of trading mix-tapes with friends. You can do this with MiniDisc.. With an iPod what are you going to do, trade iPods?

The RH1 doesn't have the ability to use AA batteries, unfortunately. Must be some sort of misprint..

SonicStage 4.3 Arrives, Features Vista Compatibility
raintheory replied to Christopher's topic in News
Personally I have upgraded to this version on my XP install, and haven't experienced any problems either during install or running the program. -
With my unit, when its plugged into the PC and the battery has been discharged some, the battery symbol does show as charging. Have you tried this with a different USB port? I suppose it may be possible that the power supply to that particular USB port on your PC may be faulty...
-
I haven't had any issues with my RH1 either...
