  1. You will only be able to upload Hi-MD recordings with the mac software though. Other than that it works great.
  2. Perhaps he was wanting to upload legacy MDs to the mac...
  3. with the unit in pause, move to the trackmark you want to remove and press "t. mark" on the RH1.
  4. And the topic is MDLP, which was introduced before NetMD...
  5. If all else fails you could try combining them on the recorder prior to uploading...
  6. Looks nice! Too bad it doesn't seem to have XLR (Balanced) I/O... The Optical output is nice though. And the unit looks very sleek!
  7. good call! i wonder if theres really any overwhelming need to update.. looks like vista compatibility may be the only improvement.
  8. Might be a long shot... but is your firewall blocking CDDB? That could potentially confuse SonicStage to the point of crashing..
  9. For reference, you can upload recordings that you make using the NH1 in Hi-MD mode, just not the older recordings.
  10. The only recorder available at this time that will upload those legacy recordings is the MZ-RH1. Do a quick search in the forums for more info. In short, you would either need the RH1 (fastest method, digital quality), a deck with optical out>soundcard with optical in (slower method, digital quality), or analogue line from headphone jack>line-in on soundcard (slower method, analogue recording). EDIT: Here is a good starting point for info: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=7070 (includes a good explanation of the analogue method).
  11. SonicStage states that when a disc recorded in NetMD mode is played back, audio is heard from the headphone jack (unlike Hi-MD where the audio is sent via USB and heard through the computers speakers).
  12. Stuge, are you sure you didnt accidentally block the images using firefox's tools?
  13. Also, this is a good idea as you can plug in the charger before the internal battery is exhausted and continue your recording/playback uninterrupted. If you were switching out the internal battery you would have to stop, wait for TOC to be written (if need be), replace battery, and then restart recording/playback.
  14. Yeah there was a thread elsewhere a little while ago questioning. I mentioned the Dolby Laboratories patents as a possible reason. Makes the most sense to me.
  15. In response to a previous poster's question regarding a hack for SP via PC. Not really possible as the original SP codec is non-existent on the PC to begin with.
  16. My guess is that any sort of electromagnetic interference (created by just about any electronic device) can potentially interfere with radio communications (among other things, instrumentation, etc). Although why they would allow the use of these devices in flight and just not during takeoff/landing is beyond me.
  17. Yes, there has been discussion regarding the Mp3 issue elsewhere in the forums... Regarding the RH1, there seems to be a consensus here in the forums that the issue has been resolved.
  18. I'm not disagreeing with anyone (because I think the issue of sound quality is inherently subjective) but I would love to see a frequency analysis of the same file both ways overlayed...
  19. Good luck, you might want to grab the service manual from the downloads section. Should show a diagram of how the unit comes apart...
  20. Sent him an external AA attachment in exchange for 2 blank minidiscs. Great communication, discs arrived promptly and he also threw in a remote that I had been looking for as an unexpected gift! A+!
  21. I'm not sure you'll find a Blue Logo inside the unit... But you might find a small gray plastic piece: The Blue Logo (at least on my unit) is on the other side: Does the unit still stay in the charging stand?
  22. I think I agree... The term Dynamic Normalizer makes me think there is some sort of compressor/expander working in realtime, versus a just a plain old Normalizer which, as you say would have to analyze the track in it's entirety in order to avoid possible clipping. As I stated before, the only time I have used this is while listening to my own mic recordings where the volume is too low. I haven't noticed anything in those recordings that has (yet) stopped me from using the feature. I would however love to get ahold of specific information about the feature somehow...
  23. Do you at least have a remote for the NH600?
  24. yes it does... it can be a bit of a pain (especially if you have a recorder with date/time stamp).
