A friend of mine has undertaken the task of re-creating the Lost City of Atlantis just off the north Shore of Cayman Brac, His name is Foots, and he is doing all the work himself, and paying out of his pocket. here is the site www.atlantiscaymanbrac.com His next phase is staring in the new year, and he is making me an engineer of Atlantis, pretty exciting, have a look and see what you think Bob

To Paraphrase Eddie Cochran, the Who, and other's "there ain't no cure for the Minidisc Blues", I'm proud of this addiction Bob

Hi There AFAIK the easiest way would be to record it as data on Hi-MD, would be worth a try at just do a recording and see what happens. Good luck, Bob
-
For Hi-md you could try the NH-800 or 900, or the 810 or 910, fo Net-MD lot's more choices, have fun, and look in the equipment browser in minidisc.org Welcome.\Bob

Listening to Sonique Born to be Free, don't know how missed this one, vy good Bob

Depends on the state of the battery, but mine goes to about 80 % in 60 minutes from empty, then two to three hours after for a full charge. Good luck, Bob

Howdy, If I were me I would change the line in mics and bootlegging to just using it for live recording, other than that, looks pretty good. I would also bring a unit or two to the presentation and show how easy it is to swap between the two. Actually that is a good item to add to your thesis, how easy it is to swap music across continents, try that with a pod!! Bob

Just finished Ziggy Stardust by ( you all know who it's by don't you !!), and just got what I thought was David Gilmour - Girls and Vultures, but ends up being David Gilmour Girls - Vultures, what a nice surprise, Floyd goes disco maybe, good licks, get it Bob

Switched from portable to deck for work
bobt replied to bluecrab's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
and he also wondered if he was sexy, low self esteem I guess!!! Bob -
a higher ma rating will give you more playing time, any device will only draw what it needs, I have a Honda Elite scooter here that has a car battery strapped to the floor boards, starts great, Bob

Gotta have tunes at work, I'm not quite as subtle, although I'm the only one, got a pair of fisher powered speakers, an older top of the line Sony CD player, and whatever MD I plug in at the time, great sounds abound from the garage, get weird looks, who cares, got my tunes, BTW nice set up you have, Bob -
Any Dragon's in Hardoff ??? Take care, Bob

I've been ebaying through a friend in the states on some Revox R2R's, but always lose by a couple of bucks in the last seconds. Don't have enuf money to do an outrageous bid to get, hopefully soon. Forgot about the Nakamichi Dragon, what a beautiful deck. Wish more young people had an opportunity to listen to a good analogue system, sound you cannot get out of earbuds, no matter what the cost. TTFN Bob

Best thing is throw the advertising numbers away and let your ears be your guide. Unless you are recording on a reel to reel at 15 inches per second and using audiophile grade components you are not going to be able to tell the difference. Get an RH1, you will love it. Bob

I'm trying to get my Teac Reel to Reel down here, (or something else if it's cheaper) and will put stuuf on tape, just love watching those reels go round. Might het my son to ship my Revox turntable down as well. As for longevity I have several 6 or 7 year old MD's that work great, none of my burned cd's from that vintage are any good. Bob

Hi Glenn, Try taking power from the MD unit and see what happens. Also see if you can see in the door that the disc slides in and see if something got jammed or bent. What unit is it? Bob
-
Welcome to the MD experience, glad you like yours, many happy hours of recording to you, Bob
-
Appreciate it TC, just keep your words of wisdom coming as well. Bob
