  1. Saw them a couple of weeks ago on the Fashion Rocks special doing a song with Davis Bowie, high point of the show, thought they were from the UK, to find out they are Candian, what a bonus. Can you sneak you MD and do a stealth recording, what a show that will be. You lucky dog. The only live music I see down here is bad country, but I do get to Cuba 3 to 4 times a year, what music there. Bob
  2. It's the USA only attitude thats puts everybody off, put it in a registered package, double registered if u want, costs can't be that much, live a little, experiment, broaden your horizins, there is a world beyond your small border
  3. The forum is full of goodies, look at the equipment browser, search the threads. But yes, Onkyo has a Hi-MD sytem, nobody has a pure Hi-MD seperate deck yet, you could always put a cable on your portable and hook it up to your stereo, truly the mouse that roared. Bob
  4. Just orederd these a couple of weeks ago, should be getting them soon, highly recommend the Arcade Fire, great new group. "No Hats Beyond This Point" Men Without Hats; "Chains That Bind Us Volume 2" Remote Control; "Funeral" Arcade Fire; "Lichtgestalt" Lacrimosa; also brought back 3 cd's The Ancestro's Trilogy by a Cuban group called Sintesis, a very good prog rock group, this series is a great afro-cuba mix highly recommended if you can get it Bob
  5. Last two sites are excellant, great music and videos highly recommended Bob
  6. goodbye to my paperweight (salt water soaked NH1), beautiful but not funcional, Hello to a new NH1 that I happened upon, shouls have it next week, happy happy joy joy, can't wait to use new sonic stage, and to have portable music again, my 707 erases too many discs to be useable. Bob
  7. Have you tryed the manufacturer or Belkin?? Bob
  8. Couple of options, you'll have to record in realtime through the line in on your computer, or you could find one of the older Phillips standalone cd recorders and burn straght to cd. Unfortunately no quick transfers. You could also get a hi-Md recorder and record them onto 1 gig discs then you could upload them and burn. Another thought, are there any recordind studios in your area that use MD, if so they may be able to do something for you. If I were me I would go newer unit and workfrom there Good luck, Bob
  9. bobt

    cannot transfer

The general consensus is that if you have editd on your unit you will have difficulty, and is you have edited and transferred you will have more. Your best bet may be to download in realtime maybe using Marc's renderer. Good luck, Bob
  10. Really hate the last second lurkers on ebay that put in an outrageous last second bid on an article without enough time to put in a counterbid. On subject of ebay I've noticed a bid pump itself up on the same bidder without counterbids???? Why do people pay far more than an item is worth just because it's on ebay. Let's not get into paypal Bob
  11. You could also burn the mp3's tp cd and simpleburn them onto MD I've done it a couple of times, Bob
  12. Didn't care much for the teaser, what joy is there in killing someone, game or not?? Unit itself looks pretty good though
  13. Thanks Chris for getting the forum up again, a tremendous amount of work from what I can gather. My hat off to you, put some music of your choice into your MD, relapse and medicate 4 a while, Thake care Bob
  14. Looks nice, but your still using a small hard drive that will fail, guess they have to cave into the ipuddlle crowd, rather have the Sony, but still irks me that Sony lost it with MD because they refused to market it right. Thanks for the pics. Bob
  15. Hi Raintheory, My 707 looks like it's been used for target practise, it's fallen from the sony pouch so many tomes, plays well still, but has the reording ribbon faout. My NH1 took a salt water bath,(same pouch as 707, never learn!!), $400.00 paperweight now, waiting for a replacement. Bob
  16. Thanks Damage, By the sounds of it I won't be getting one nytime soon, great review though. Bob
  17. What more can anyone want from life. Take it to the limit my friend. Bob
  18. I agree, if you are willing to put an ipod into your system, you have the ability to put your Hi-MD into the system. Yes we dream, living with reality is not a bad alternative. Bob
  19. I would go NH900 first, RH10 second, and 910 third, mp3 is of no importance to me, but ist generations just look better, maybe if I see OLED in person it may sway me, but most of the time the unit is in a pocket or pouch, so remote is more important. It really boils down to wjat you want, and at this time I'm working hard to replace my NH1 with another NH1.
  20. Check out some photography shops, some camera cases are pretty nifty. Bob
  21. My friend, If you don't like the format why be a member? There is no "perfect device", but IMHO dollar for dollar, and feature for feature MD is a pretty good buy, I've recorded with pretty much every format that is consumer available, and again MD is very hard to beat, especially with the new sonic stage. Take care, Bob
  22. spelling atrocious, ohone calss translates to phone calls VBG ;-)
  23. Wierd thing was the whole island new about Noah in New Orleans before I did, was in Cuba with my other son and family, got home to e-mails and ohone calss. Glad all is well Thanks again Bob
  24. Thanks, it was pretty intense for a while seeing all the violence etc. Big relief now though Bob
  25. Thanks for the thoughts, just got word yesterday that he was ou, thought he was going to Baton Rouge, hopefully once he's there it's an easy trip back to Edmonton. Again thanks for the thoughts. Bob
