my simplified explanation bows before superior branes. thanks dex

i think you come down on my side of the debat exactly here. moral is do your research before buying anything. for me there is a reasonable amount of backward compatibility, mdlp as a format is already very old if counted in personal electronics, legacy playback & netmd transfer is a bonus in a new system not a requirement.

i just ate char grilled lamb fillets on cou-cous with currants & preserved lemons. there was some wilted spinach & rocket in thereas a bed also. lovely. made it all, even the lemons myself.
-
nice to see a decent resolution, even if it is from hard work & not the result of the gear being returned. thanks for the update mel & good luck with the career & your health.
-
doubt it in the near future. the 'bottleneck' is the physical movement of the recording head
-
gen II will record in standard modes via sonicstage though. if lp2 is okay for any legacy md stuff.

i'm a 't-advisor' over there but some of the poster's really piss me off. the one with the hd5 obsession is one of them btw.

Sony VAIO Pocket VGF-AP1L Pictorial
atrain replied to Ishiyoshi's topic in Product Reviews/Pictorials
singapore airport is pretty expensive for electronics. cheap for booze & perfume, far cheaper than melbourne/sydney/london -
read ahead memory aka g-protection malfunction? something similar once happened to me, the track names from the previous disc were copied onto the next disc i inserted in my old mzn1
-
this was happening to my mzn1 recently until it would only record about 7 tracks via usb, then none. still will record via the line in & optical tho. i think you've reached the end of the product life to be honest.
-
yeah 5% not that great given sony's high prices. honestly, for portable use i'd grab either Audio Technica ATH-FC7 for $48 or Sennheiser PX100 $63 both from bluetin +10ish shipping or maybe some portpros by koss
-
test it out at the sony shop. buy online. www.bluetin.com & www.minidisc.com.au are good & will save you money in a big way. a lot of stores in australia don't let you demo headphones or portables though. bastards.
-
honestly it'd be cheaper 9in the long run to purchase a new himd. the cost of optical blocks + work is scandalous & the advent of himd means you can fit so much more onto each disc whilst still playing back/recording any old discs you own, not to mention uploading your recorded material. my advice would be to purchase a sony RH10 or RH910

old bugger, dodgy ears? kris you're being ageist again.
-
lovely pictorial bart - good to see you this side of the fence too.

http://forums.minidisc.org/downloads/details.php?file=5 http://www.sonydigital-link.com/DNA/common...p?l=en&v=&m=pad try one of these, with the unit unplugged
-
when you say it just worked you mean it was recognised & worked as a data/ums device? or that you could transfer music that was playable without using anyother software?
-
are you gonna wear out side the house, walking around, or just sitting?
-
if you upgrade to the latest version of sonicstage 3.1 then the new personal audio driver included will overwrite the old/missing one. just unplug it during the install & reboot. plug in after you start SS for the first time
-
your optical block sounds like it's screwed. repair costs are not much below a new 2nd gen himd unit. please move this thread to software support

i just got an amd barton 3200 & another stick of ddr400 512 ram. my girlfriend bought me san andreas on pc & it was running a littl slow so...
-
you could even try bill bryson's a short history of nearly everything, a pretty dumbed down but clear run through of most of science & of course there's always steven hawking
-
i'd say the drm would be more to stop OS piracy. for example i own 5 pcs & two copies of XP - you work that out. the targeted ones will be from keygens & serials floating around the net, cracked versions of windows & big retailers who use the same OEM install on one hundred systems. as it is now windows checks against a database but only for some updates & can block you from them.
-
again, have a look at http://www.audiocubes.com & have a look at the headphone section. you don't have to buy from them but they have a very wide range. i can repeat it again if you like

931 i assume. lot like 'free' buds you get with sony stuff, maybe a bit better. of the two i'd go ex71 with the short cord. get the white too as the wires seem thicker, less prone to acidental damage.
