  1. Hold down play mode on the remote and keep going left or right until you see bookmark. And why would you want to change pitch? The purpose of digital speed control is so that the pitch would not change as the speed changes. Perhaps you want to change the playback speed, to do that hold down display on the remote and look for SpeedCtrl.
  2. Exactly, that is why he can't just rip them off from his CDs.
  3. Either realtime, or I have to say welcome to the RH1 club.
  4. I understand you perfectly well. The most plausible way I can think of is to get the RH1, upload your recordings/music, then retransfer all of them onto Hi-MD. This would cost money but is the fastest way, and anyways you are planning to switch to Hi-MD so spending money wouldn't be an issue. If you don't want to spend all that money for the RH1 then you can try to find previous generation units and transfer them via line-out to line-in (which is nuts IMHO). Anyways good luck. p.s. welcome to MDCF
  5. There is no reason to worry about the laser wearing out. Just look at all the older units, take the first MD recorder for example, there are lots of MZ-1's that still works perfectly well. The ribbon cable is more likely to break before the laser wears out. The NH1 is very well built and I have yet to hear problems with it.

    I'm back at it

So I guess I've decided on the MDR-V300. And I gotta say its sounds terrific! Well atleast compared to my other headphones. I tried my best to get my hands on the PX-100s but had no luck.

    Hacks for RH1?

Yes, I agree with accessing options only available the remote via main unit and vise versa. I can confidently say that it wouldn't have taken too much to do this and titling in the first place. Sony are you listening? Provide us with a firmware upgrade!
  10. Lol, just got some new headphones. Who would have thought that the MDR-V300 sounds terrific! Well atleast it is an upgrade to my stock buds and other headphones. Oh, yeah I tried getting the PX-100s but I think they were sold out or not stocked in all my local electronic stores, however I did forget to go to The Source. I have to say I am very pleased with these new headphones, oh and I got over the "no headbands" thing by letting it go behind my head. The cable is quite long though...
  11. I don't see why some people are so stuck on the idea "true SP", whats so good about it? Lots of users have stated that Hi-SP just as good or even better. If you want the absolute best sq there is always PCM. Bit tired of people saying "does it allow 'true SP'?". Unless I am missing some thing here (which if I am please do point out) I don't see whats so stunning about "true SP". Of course I'm not directing this at you Justin42, but rather the general group of people touting "true SP".
  12. I really can't fathom what the big deal here is. The only problem is that the track marks are misplaced by what, lol a few milliseconds? Even a whole second wouldn't be a big problem. I have noticed what you mean listening to one of my albums and can tell you that it doesn't bother me much if at all. As long as it doesn't cut out anything (which if it does then it's a big problem), then I really don't see whats the problem. I personally only experience or notice this track mark misplacement in a few of my albums on my MDs. I suggest maybe to just listen to the tracks in their intended order so you don't experience this minor error? Btw, this thread is being dug up because a recent thread links to here.
  13. I can't seem to PM anymore. The page just shows up as a blank page. Other than that I love the added features, such as the Options drop down.
  14. And why you are selling it brand new for? I mean you wouldn't just buy one and sell it at a loss, no point, and nobody would pay more than retail, catch my drift? I need to know before deciding to buy another.
  15. Just got 2 more Hi-MD blanks and a NFS: Carbon game for PS2... well actually I didn't buy them myself lol .
  16. Merry Christmas to all, and I want to thank all the moderators and people who have helped me before. Best wishes.

    Buying LIP-4WM

Wow, I have to say I am impressed. I'm sold on it. Hope that there is nothing wrong with them, thats why they are so cheap. Should I get 2 or 1 I think I only need one.
  18. I've noticed I'm quite paranoid when it comes to my RH1 for some reason. I'll just pay my local Sony Store a visit, hoping they would pay the shipping, and I also need some blanks real quick.

    Buying LIP-4WM

Haha, thats right I'm digging up an old thread! So how are those batteries working for you guys? I've personally concluded that these batteries are genuine but stolen by factory workers. Of course I maybe be very wrong. I just might buy from these ebayers, have to fight my urge to buy the more expensive ones.
  20. Why are corporations so greedy? It doesn't cost that much to manufacture a battery for goodness sake! Also I have to mention that I only charge via power adapter, because my computer is rather unstable, so sometimes I have to reboot. Hmm, I can't return it too late for that, don't want to send it in... no darn way! I guess I could always buy another and return my current one. Edit: I must point out that I suspect its not charging normally when the main unit does not display anything or when it displays "Low Battery".
  21. That's rather odd. Have you tried initializing it again? Welcome to the forums btw.

    Hacks for RH1?

Just curious, kanji capable hardware can also support Chinese character display right?
  23. How does the MD technology work? Thats a bit vague so let me rephrase. For example I have 100 tracks on my MD disc. Now when I burn my songs via SS I burn them in order (song 2 is transferred after song 1 as track 2, and so on) do they in reality physically burn one after another or is it randomly placed on the disc or are the information scattered? Lets just suppose that they burn physically one after another. So track 1 should be near the inner circle of the MD and track 100 would be at the outer edge of the MD (Follow me? Think of CD-R). Now after I've transferred the songs they should be burned in that order, but wait I pull track 100 to the very beginning, making it track 1. And now track 1 would be track 2 because I just pulled (when I say pull I mean drag over) track 100 over, then suppose I pull track 3 to the end making it track 100. Now my question to you is: does the unit re-burn the information making them physically in order, or does it just re-write the TOC and tell the MD where to look. Now imagine this situation, I play track 1 the optical head goes all the way to the outer edge of the MD disc and after track 1 is over it plays track 2 which is physically near the inner circle of the Md disc, so the optical head goes all the way back, track 3 is at the outer edge, head goes over to the opposite side, see what I'm getting at here? The optical would be going back and forth, not good, unnecessary wear and tear. Now all this would true if everything I've said is theoretically correct. Now if I'm wrong somewhere then this may not be true. But could someone explain all this to me? And tell me where I am wrong, because this is all just an educated guess. Thanks for reading this long post. Let us discuss! All comments welcome. Edit: I think what I am talking about is whether MD is sequential access media or not?
  24. No, I still haven't gotten around that. The high price is driving me away from it. I intend to go down to the States to hopefully get a better price then we do in Canada. This is really annoying, does anybody else experience anything similar to what I am describing?
