I am currently switching between the Sennheiser CX300's and the Sony MDR-EX90LP's. CX300's have decent sq and a very good bass response. The EX90's give a very good full range and excellent bass response. They do leak sound just a little and are practically double the price of the CX300's. Both very good phones, but the EX90's have the edge on the CX300's.

Sony would prefer you to buy a brand new unit than to provide a firmware upgrade. It ain't gonna happen. Sony just wants your hard earned cash.

TBH I couldn't care less if it was made of rats' crap. As long as it's well built, feels nice in the hand and nice to look at but most of all it must sound good too

May be a plastic with some sort of metallic paint.

Taking a closer look at my NW-A806, I must say that I don't believe the casing to be metal. It is built extremely well but not made of metal. I think the HD1, HD3 and HD5 were the last to have metal casings.

I'll have to agree with you there re the Plasma TV. Bought a Samsung 42" Q97 a few months back. What an amazing warm and vibrant picture. Much better than any LCD I've seen. Re upgrading to an A82x. I wouldn't bother if it's plastic and it probably has the same SQ as the A80x/A81x.

The adaptor that comes supplied with the old NW-A3000/A1000/A1200 will work fine with your A818

As much as I hate to say this, this is where I have to hand it to Apple. They announce the product and the next day it's in the shops. All sizes, all colours, Worldwide. None of this nonsense like you get from Sony.

Hopefully they will amend the website again before the end of March to include the 16 gig. We live in hope

Sony CA doesn't give it a mention at all, while Sony USA have all models up for grabs. Looks like USA is getting the Lions share this time round.

May I ask who ever is reading this post to check their regional Sony websites to see what Sony has deemed fit for you to purchase.

I really don't know how Sony comes to it's conclusions re what is good for one population isn't for another. I'm sure it's some sort of marketing ploy. Damn Sony

Juli, I hate to dissapoint but the 16 gig model isn''t listed on the UK Sony site today as it was last week. Are they not giving us this option here in the UK or the rest of Europe? The NWZ-A7xx isn't listed either. 4 & 8 gig models only with bluetooth headsets.
