Do Sony charge for software??? -
Cheers mate So then NWZ-A81x supporting AAC is gapless right?
-
Yes it can be. Have to be in the right mood and only in small doses.
-
Yes it does. I would imagine the only way of getting AAC files on to the A81x would be via the PS3?
-
AAC 320 kbps? Your not worried about space then?
-
Come share your DAP/PMP/walkman *pictures*

I thought only Admin/mods could do that? -
Does the NWZ-A81x support AAC?

Who cares, A80x/A81x is loud enough. Just enjoy it as it is. Any louder and it would blow your ear drums.
-
Flash based walkmans won't allow you to change the sound pressure settings. Only the older hdd walkmans like HD1, 3 and 5 and A3000 will allow you to change settings. There is no need for an A8xx to go any louder, it's loud enough. The A8xx is much louder than an uncapped A3000/HD5 etc.
-
Trust us, there is no volume limit on the NW-A8xx & NWZ-A81x models. Stop hesitating and buy one. A Japanese model won't sound any louder than a European model.

As I walk through Liverpool Street station each day, I see at least 3-4 ads for it throughout the station.
-
Being heavily advertised on the London Underground. Also advertised on British TV.

Mine lasts 4 days, used for approx. 2 hours per day. So I guess I get approx. 8 hours between charges.
-
As everything else seems to work ok, I would say your screen has gone. Best bet would be to contact Sony to see how much it would cost to repair it. However, it probably wouldn't be economical to repair it and you would be better off investing in a new dap.
-
European volume capping stopped with the A3000/A1000/A1200. They were the last ones to be capped.
-
Good point Haijuki. What are your equalizer settings? Also, at what volume are you listening?
-
Why not exchange it for an NWZ-A816 or NW-A806? You won't be complaining of bad sq when you have a listen to one of these. They should be able to do a straight swap. How long have you had the S706 for? Big companies like Sony can take weeks if not months to get back to customers.
