  1. No, it means he uses his iPod more these days.
  2. How do you like that E-MU? We have been using an M-Audio 2496 and standard PC. Obviously it's not very portable so we want something we can lug around easier. Nothing a little black vinyl dye can't take care of.
  3. Sweet! What recorder is that sitting to the right of the laptop on the last pic?
  4. Ray, you need flex loom or some sort of wire management system. I would have nightmares trying to wire your work area.
  5. There are a few skins that will make SS not work properly. I finally found one that does not freak SS out.
  6. You really need an amp for these to sound good. I personally like the sound. They are definitely very "warm" sounding phones. By that I mean the highs are clear but do not sound super crisp. That's as best as I could describe it.
  7. I am thinking of making the jump to Linux. The only think keeping me from doing it is my wife. She does not like me changing things around on her and I think she would freak if I replaced XP Pro entirely. What is available for Linux in the way of desktop publishing programs?
  8. I received my Pentax DSLR yesterday but did not have a real chance to play with it. I am at work now but I brought it with me to play with on my "down" time.
  9. My Pioneer SE-405's I don't know how old these are since I got them on eBay but my dad had the exact model in the early 80's. I also have a Sony reel-to-reel at my parents house that is from the late 70's.
  10. Whatever your excuse is, remind me never to buy anything from you. I purchased an R500 on eBay a couple of years back that was supposed to be "near mint" only to find that it did not record and looked like it had something spilled in it. I cut my losses and resold it on eBay as a player-only, but was very honest about its condition.
  11. The key is using difuse natural light and turn off the flash. Cloudy days actually make good days to shoot with available light from a nearby window. Make sure you set your camera to macro mode (the flower symbol on most cameras). If you can't hold the camera steady, use a tripod or support yourself in some way so you don't get camera shake.
  12. You can't do it directly in Sonic Stage (that I know of). You could use Audacity to adjust the speed of, say a wav file then re-import into SS. Keep in mind you would be "hard coding" the speed of playback into the file.
  13. Thanks Stuge! It's amazing what you can do with macro mode and a good source of natural diffuse light. I take the pictures at my desk at work. I sit under a huge sky light (10 feet x 10 feet) that provides awesome lighting for this type of photography.
  14. SDK: Software Development Kit : A set of tools, APIs, and documentation to assist with the development of software in a specific computer language or for a particular operating environment. I may have to look into Vegas or DVD Architect. I would love to be able to integrate Atrac3 recorded audio into my home movies directly rather than transcoding.
  15. Then you probably never saw the other pictorials I have lying around here. [shameless plug]You should really take a look at them.[/shameless plug]
  16. Spring is just starting. That means sand storms for me. Hot, sweaty, sand storms. Yesterday we got rain mixed with sand. Makes for a nice mud rain. My car looks like I went 4-wheeling in it.
  17. Okay, it's cool but you have to get it out there. Post it on You Tube or Google Video. If it stays here, you are basically preaching to the choir.
  18. Hmmm. I am not sure. Maybe I exceeded my bandwidth. I'll check it. EIDT* Okay, that should be better. I must have accidentally deleted them last week when I was doing some cleanup. I did not even think people were still looking at these.
  19. 512 mb SD card to go with the camera. I checked the tracking and the SD card gets here tomorrow and the camera on Friday!
  20. All that stuff sound like something that would bring down a super hero.
  21. A head cleaning is where I would start. If you can get an actual head cleaning kit (from www.minidiscaccess.com as an example) use that first. If not you could try a spritz from a can of air then a cleaning with denatured alcohol and a cotton swab made for electronics cleaning (available at Radio Shack).
  22. I am ticked that all this vegimite and marmite talk is spreading to other boards.
