English correction ( only to show I understood what you said , not to demean in any way ) Thx for your input , it is very difficult for a child in a foreign country , easier if that child WANTS to be there , but much harder when there are friends that are missed from whence they came . I too went to many schools ( My Father was in the army , and we were moved often ) and I am also an only child , so I understand exactly what your talking about .

hmmmm , that is interesting , Line in , is Line in ............... Now you have my curiosity , if it works with other devices , I wonder why it isnt working with the RH1 and plus you said the Line in works from a CD player ,................ hmmmmm if there is a Voltage leaking from the Battery box output , it may create a shunt in the line in , or short ......... If you have a pair of el cheapo phones , you can cut the cable on , strip the wires off keep the plug , plg it in to the battery box output , use a voltage meter set to DC and check if there is a voltage present .

did you set "Manual Rec level " in the Recording settings? if so , then raise the rec level from the Jog lever or the remote , all the way up . and test the Battery box from that setting. If the Battery Box , is working thru the Mic input but not the Line input , then there isnt any amplification from the Batt box . ( I think his battery box , is just mainly power supply for the mics . The Battery Box is Mainly for REALLY LOUD concerts , if you can get away with a Low Mic sensitivity and use the Mic input you will be better off just bring the Rec levels down as much as is needed . For Line in , I always , ...ALWAYS....... use nicer mics , and a small mixer or preamp that will give me the levels I need , and better control over the levels . Mackie 402 VLZ3 , very nice smal 2 channel board , or for Portability , Rolls MX34 preamp , or my own homebuilt preamps which give 26 db of VERY clean gain at 88db S/N not too shabby . but even then , I use the 26er's thru the Mic input at Low sensitivity for best results unless it is a very loud sound source . I am wiating for the Mackie to come to Japan , the 402 and 802 arent here yet , email from Mackie , said the end of this month or beginning of next . I will have my money ready .

what is that in Yen ? I know where a couple DR77's are at MT 877 is possible as well ,

the High Mic sens setting has nothing to do with the Line input it only adjusts the mic input .

Yes connect the Batt pack , but also ....... 10 years is about Max life expectancy on an r30 , my R50 died at the 10 year mark as well The Original Battery could stand to be replaced , that is a lot of time on a rechargeable . This is just another testament of how good the early MD's were , iPod history isnt that long , and here are sooooo many failures . MD , Made in Japan , ........... and Still working . .......... All the new Chinese made , and Malaysia made MD's have issues right out of the box , quirky controls , dodgy power issues . etc . I have a very nice large UDU drum , and handmade Dumbek , as well as a plethora of other percussion stuff . where are you located ?

Auto Rec levels are mainly for Meetings , Voice , etc , evn in that there are two settings , one for voice and one for music . You need to read the manual very carefully to get all the details , sometimes manuals should be called "Maul u alls" instead because of being badly written , because that what it feels like reading them being Mauled , but it is a necessary evil .

Need help w/ my MZ-R37 . . . please?
Strungup replied to misterk60's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
Correction : The Mech is NOT the same as the R50 , the Optics and I/O were Different for the R50 , as well as the Mic pre's CDX 2652 AR in the R50 , and standard 2652 in the 37 even though the 37 came after the 50 , the 50 is just better made The R50 is in a class by itself , I have had the 37 , the 30 , prior to the R50 I promptly sold the 37 after getting the R50 . Sorry ,....... not picking nits but , serious R50 fan here . MZ-R37 " Features: ATRAC 4.0 (IC: 2652AR) Sony's first "cost reduced" portable recorder (apparently for US and European release only). Unit is of ca. MZ-R55 generation but slightly larger than MZ-R50. 40 second shock memory. Editing and titling functions available on remote. Unit includes 2 rechargeable (AA size) NiCad batteries [MZ-R37SP version comes without batteries or AC adapter], but can also run on Alkaline cells. Synchro start recording, sampling rate converter. Difference to MZ-R55: no microphone sensitivity setting, no "erase" button ("delete" function appears under edit menu), and no date and time stamp. Included remote has no LCD, but MZ-R55 [LCD equipped] remote works properly with it, including backlight function. Have a Blue one Currently ( my Silver died after 10 years of service) current Recorders : Blue R50 , MZ-B10 , RH1 Silver, Blue MZ-N1 , Sky Blue R910 , Bronze R55 , Kenwood DMC-K7R Synchronic Past recorders, too friggin many to list -
I have a Blue N1 , but no cradle the unit is in great shape , no scratches at all but , you have to make a decent offer , it is in GOOD shape , and I take care of my stuff . There are those who will vouch for that .

System32 is core system area, part of the OS , CatRoot , Catalouge Root file , is part of a database file structure which will contain many files . it sounds like you have a bug , and it is hiding in the CatRoot file structure , but came thru the open window in Simple Burner data collection from the internet Use AVG from Grisoft.com and "Spybot Search and Destroy " bothe have freeware versions if you have Norton or MacAfee , get that junk off your system , get a real AV prog . Just a thought .

Listening to part 1 now , a little distortion , but I think that was in the sound system . Surprising the bass response from the internal mics isn't it ? You can hear the limiter coming in and out just barely , and only if you know what your listening for . but the balance between the Audience and the Band is quite good , (I just wish my French didnt suck so bad ) kill the harmony parts on New Years Day , just let the Lead Vocals have it........... The scream got drowned out by the Harmony ( U2 Fan here , gotta have the scream ...!!!) Heroes : was , like ,... Pixies , meets Green Day , Meets Bowie , Meets Sex Pistols , kind of ....... cool ! This will get a good bit of headphone time , Thx for posting this .

I think you may have to go thru Sony for that then.

I am not really willing to part with mine , BUT........ I know where a bronze 930 is for 10,000 yen ( about a hundred dollars US) so If I was re-embursed for that and S/H plus a little for beer ....... you know what I mean .

Ask and ye shall receive Sony BCA-MZEH930 Battery Charging stand direct off the inside of mine .

what model ?
-
yeah that was my issue with the RH1 from the beginning was the Jog , mine is way to sensitive on one side , and barely registers on the other at times . I tightened the two screws under the face of the unit ( Bottom front ) and it helped a little use a Jewelers screwdriver or Eyeglass kit screwdriver . Mine s actually almost usable now , but from the day I bought the Jog was an issue , but I bought the 40 ELK remote so I didnt worry so much .

Try the GP brand batteries , they have 2100 ma and 2400 versions , I have given these to friends and have used them in my CD players , never had a problem . I am sure others here will vouch for the GP's Chime in Mdcf
