There we go , keep em coming , then the newbies get instant ideas.
  3. A Review of it is here http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=20674&hl= I bought it , and have put it thru the paces , make sure to read all posts , as there are some changes in perspective thru out the time I have had it.
  4. 440 thx for that link , I will give that a try , I am downloading it now . Update , I tired it , and Got rid of it , no thanks , I will stick with Audacity. Traverso's control interface is horrible
  5. Listening to an Irish Band I recorded last night , in Jiyugaoka , at a Bar called O'Carolans , I used the AT-822 and the RH1 and a clamp type mic stand to suspend the mic from the ceiling , I might be persuaded to post something after I get the editing done . http://www.o-carolan.co.jp/
  6. You dont have an R50 ,.... you gotta hear one Big , the 70 and 50 are very different creatures, The R50 , is what SP is supposed to sound like
  7. ?????? if they are banned , why not remove them , ??
  8. if the disc was in an area where humidity levels were kinda up and down for long periods it will have crap deposited on it (why we keep them in cases) It wont be easy to clean it , There are two sides to it as well , At an artists supply shop , get the softest paint brush the have , ( we're talkin silky baby bottom soft here dude) A drop of Mild dishsoap in a small cup of purified water slightly warm , open the case door and with the wet brush work from the inside to the outside edge of the disc in a straight line , then move the disc a little do it again and again till the crap lifts off of it , both sides of the disc , then rinse with purified water , and put it somewhere where it will dry well , let it dry completely before you use it . Two problems that may result #1 There is a small amount of lubricant in the disc that will get washed away , so you will not want to use this disc for anything other than to transfer what is on it to something else (ie, test it see if it plays , immediately transfer stuff if it does) . #2 if done with too much force the disc will get microscopic scratches , and wont play correctly . Be very carefull when you do this , I have had success with several , discs from friends that their kids got a hold of ,and you dont want a dirty disc in the MD unit , damage the heads
  9. On CNET , there is a section titled,......now get this ............" Cars , for your MP3 Player" , guess that tops the sound system .
  10. And with that realization , now we truly welcome you to the MDCF . Sound Matters . ............. Eating American Food in Japan , is tanamount to the MP3 scenario , it just isnt the real thing , period . You cant fake it. The MD is the only portable medium that reaches even close to area the Japanese call " manzoku" and it only comes with the proper ingredients . You put on your Phones , slide in a disc , close your eyes and your there , in the Chamber Orchestra , not standing outside , peeking thru a crack in the door.
  11. waaa sugoi nihongo wakateiru ..... demo nihonjin jannai desu , Amerikajin nan deskedo ....... boku mo ongaku no hito . Yoroshiku onagaishimasu. to send to you will cost me around 25 dollars US , to France it was less ? Go figure ,? I sent a package to France recently and it was bigger , but would be about the same in price . I dont know what I would want from the UK , except a good Beer Mug with my family crest on it . ......... No Hagis please!
  12. I dont know if he is into reinvesting , but good tip none the less
  13. Funny you would mention that , I just a few minutes ago , was showing my kid how to adjust digital levels , and why you would want to do so , on the MD recorder I gave him. I am recording from the digital output of My Macbook Pro ( Make sure people that you go into Audio/Midi Settings in Utilities , and set the Digital out to 16 bit , it is automatically at 24 bit in Macbooks, and MD recorders Like to see 16 bit Optical , only the RH1 is dependable at 24 ) Different CD Players will also affect the output level I have heard great variations in CD players knowing what the CD actually sounds like , playing the same one on different players . It does get annoying doesnt it . I think that only studio grade CD units have any real standardization in levels , home and portables can vary considerably. The digital output on my Mac is so hot that I HAVE to bring the rec levels down , I cant use the Auto Level in the MD .
  14. hmmmmm , there is that Kansas Live album I have been wanting to transfer . Thx for the response anyway ( it hurt like ^%LL)
  15. Actually yes there are people who changed the battery , there is an article on the forums somewhere, I have read it some months ago .
  16. I was getting ready to go out to Hardoff to get some more pix to post if anyone was interested , caught the last step wrong , and down I went , I am in a substantial amount of pain at the moment , and have it wrapped up , not broken , sprained pretty good though . First day of sunshine in awhile , wife takes a day off , we are gonna walk together and BAM! ,..............go figure . nice burning sensation very reminiscient of some skateboard incidents I remember when I was younger
  17. " Burnin Love........ comes ONCE in a LifeTime ,..... Golden Girl ,.... I'll Keep you FORevERRRR!!" She wore Blue jeans , She loved life , .....
  18. Ok ,... that point accepted , but I still think my R50 sounds better .

THX Rich , that first one is really well laid out , I want this topic thought to be ALL the trix people do and how they do it. What Cables , Unit to Unit audio salvage .etc .
  21. I will check that today , I can also agree with BOB the 40ELK is awesome , I can get one for you but they cost $ , they are on the shelves new here , so no prob in finding one . UPDATE : as per RichYu's suggestion I read elsewhere RM-MC35ELK -- supplied with MZ-N10 (JP), MZ-NE810, MZ-N910 (JP), MZ-N920, MZ-RH1 (JP) and MZ-RH10 (JP)*. (*Color matching RM-MC35ELK comes bundled only with the MZ-RH10 (JP)) Features are the same as RM-MC33EL but with improved kanji/kana display and higher resolution. Narrower text allows 12 (roman) character displays. Scrolling is 1 character at a time rather than 1 pixel at a time; special 2-line display can display disc or group name at the top, and track title at the bottom (only compatible with NetMD units mentioned above); special animations show up when starting up MD, or accessing various sound modes. *Please note: the MC35ELK is 100% compatible with all 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation Hi-MD units. Yes the 35 will work , It actually comes with some HiMD units.

Right , I havent yet tried the remote for the MZ-R50 which has a Track Mark button , ill post that later , but the B10 has a Track mark button on the face of the unit itself , The B10 does not do Titleing , that would have to be done on another unit .
  23. we got other biz wiz , ha !! I am going to RULE the MD world one day you watch !!!! na nanannaanaaa
