ltmayonnaise
I tested the new GYM version as released by Vovo on my A1000 and also came up with the no dialogue box error, but only for Save All Tracks. Save Selected Track works just fine. Everything else tested just fine on a variety of mp3s that were uploaded via Connect. Reading the last post by Vovo it seems he found this error. Just wanted to confirm its existance on an A1000 as well.Sounds like it could be a big help to get working together via sourceforge, get some versioning going and a code repository so you dont end up overwriting one anothers changes! No offense, just no how it goes doing development in a team with multiple people working on the same code.I'm going to be traveling until January 1, but would love to setup a website for GYM when I get back. I could setup a forum there as well so users and developers wouldn't be mixed talking in the same thread all the time. Also, I could work on "skinning" the interface for GYM. Some visiual feedback when rolling over the interface buttons would be a nice touch to start. Thanks to all you guys who are helping in the development of GYM, this app rocks!Ciao! ltmayonnaise
heh, I didnt mean full "skinning" support or anything like that. Just some nice looking buttons that offer some visual indication (like a rollover) that you're over the current icon. I know it's not a priority, but since I only do web based development (php/mysql/xml/etc) and havent the first clue about how to help with the actual development of the application in .net I thought i'd just help out where I could. hemingway
I have just recently put mp3file manager on my hd3 player. The program opens fine..well almost. a small error windows pops up saying, "cannot select driv" after a few ok, ok, ok the programs starts with it's instructions window. I close that and everything seems fine. My songs in the drive appear as they should. However my problem is that when i try dragging a song(any song) from my computer to the drive it shows me another message with an unsuccessful transfer, "Transfer interrupted. Some files may have not been transferred!"That's as far as the program works for me. Does anyone have any advice?hd3windows sp2sonic stage 3.3my goal is to be able to transfer files without having to convert them into atrack.i'm also keeping on eye on Gym and it's progression, but meanwhile i really want to get mp3file manager to work.thanks in advance and any help would be greatly appreciated. mporer88
Works fine with my NW-E507.I cannnot thank you enough and look forward to the further development of this program.I am of course willing to pay for the use of it..so whenever you are ready...Sony is particularly aggressive in their stance regarding DRM. I would advise anyone who wishes to use this system to forgo any kneejerk firmware updates as Sony may choose to alter their encryption scheme in an attempt to mess with you.I am an early adopter of most technical toys and have been using "MP3" hardware and software for years. While I love the hardware that Sony puts out, their software (SonicStage) is truly an insensitive intrusion upon my time. Because of their software I would never encourage anyone to use their hardware, even though I myself am willing to put up with it for the sake of the beautiful form factor of the NW-E507. I listen to audiobooks that I rip myself at relatively low density so I only need to deal with sonic stage about once a month....and now perhaps never again.God bless you all.May SonicStage burn. Ascariss
Ant0ine, there is no drag and drop using windows explorer or any other non sony program for the A series. You can only do drag and drop using the connect player for drag and drop.

johno4485
Hi - I have worked my way through the setup for earlier versions and have tried 1.12 (fairly sure have followed instructions to install .net and keygen) but get same problem in all - I can see tracks on my HD5 in Gym, both atrac and mp3 but neither will play - no sound at all - also when trying to save selected or all files I just end up with empty folders - I read someone else had a similar problem but didnt see any clear answer to it. I have W98 and plenty of disc space on Dell350 - any ideas what the problem is??johno8845

johno4485
johno4485,Do you get any error messages..?←No - just a message at the bottom left corner saying 'decoding' when trying to play a track which disappeared when the mouse was moved around - also although the play button changed when selected there was no visual progress marker to show how far the track was playing. When saving there was nothing unusual or any error messages at all - just brief disc activity presumably as it created the folders - just no files.Johno4485

Richard_p
Excellent program, this sort of thing has been needed for a looooong time. Greatfunctionality with MP3's.My two suggestions are :- Allow renaming of tags, album, artist title etc.- Atrac support, at least with renaming.SS is terrible for browsing tracks on the HD5, with just the option of veiwng artist or playlist, not albums like GYM (which i prefer to view my tracks by). I understand that this is perhaps going beyond the original concept of 'Grab your Music' but i'd love to see a GYM which allowws editing of files on the player. iyareu
This software is GREAT. It allows me to see the contents of my VP in alphabetical order order and I can search by Genre or Artist of Track or Album so it is fantastic. 2. Questions : 1. I might sound a bit dull here but when it asks on installation for the mp3 file manager - what does it mean? I have installed the mp3 addition to SS but this does not seem to make a difference. 2: When I try to play a track I get an unhandled exception - are these two things related ? Great work on the app - look forward to hearing your thoughts on the probs. Thanks.

I might have created the Gym setup using the wrong player but it showed all the files artist details etc no problem on the second player so I assumed it would work - unless it is something to do with how it was recorded on SS on the other computer?? DRM??Thanks for input alljohno4485Happier now.
xispe
Ok! Here you have your answer...Each player has it's own set of keys, so you can't use the keys generated in one player to decode tracks in other player. If you have 2 players, you need to have 2 instances of GYM separated, and "assing" each one to one player. Use key wizard to generate the keys for each of the players. The genre, artist and albums info is not encrypted so you should see them without the correct set of keys.Joke: Then you can tag each player with a marker GYM1, and GYM2, to see which GYM to use to play and extract the files
