  1. Yes, you failed to take the advice about installing the 64-bit NetMD driver. However you will not be able to IMPORT songs from MDs with anything except the MZ-RH1. I'm merging these two threads.
  2. I don't understand. Nero is the ONLY burning software that writes CD text that can be read on every device I own. Including being imported by Sonic Stage.
  3. I think you should have zero trouble if you use Nero... not sure what recent versions did but 6.x has never done this to me. It also writes CD Text that is recognised by all units (where Sonic Stage's own disks are NOT).
  4. To start with - you can't connect it to more than one at once. So better begin with one problem and solve one problem at a time. If you can keep going back to the machine that works that would be a help. Were the "new" machines actually newer or older than the one you had/have working? In addition, you realise that no drivers are needed for HiMD disks? Does that much at least work? There has to be a disk in the machine OR you have to have set the "Disc mode" to NetMD if you want to install the drivers. Finally, are all these versions of Windows the same (eg Pro, Ultimate, Home Premium)? If you inadvertently installed in the "XP box" you may have all sorts of weird timing problems. Shouldn't need to. The biggest issue is likely to be that somehow the 4.3 Sonicstage package copied 32-bit drivers on to the machine. Even though those are essentially useless to you in 64- bit windows. Either you have to get rid of them, or at least update to the 64-bit driver. So, keep the questions coming, ONE AT A TIME. We can't help with "2 different PC's".
  5. Here in Canada they just "did away" with the "penny" (our affectionate name for the cent). We have now to round every cash transaction up or down, so a "nickel" ($0.05) is our smallest negotiable increment. Except for bank accounts and we all know how the banks steal from us, having no need for the odd 0.03 when they can charge $39 per month for some non-service.
  6. 100 MD = 10 quid I make that 10p per disk......
  7. "I've never bothered with a charger for it because I charge from my PC" This is clearly NOT the original owner of the device. So, I would say, that's still an inflated price for a pig in a poke (it's acknowledged to be Used).
  8. He's from Essex... what do you expect? "The only way is Essex" (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Only_Way_Is_Essex )
  9. You're right. I only just looked now at the user manual. There was some other device that did, though. I think there's a chap from Estonia who was upgrading some of these types of box to have better hard disk.
  10. I think this may have been the first MCrew server and thus the first DLNA device, but I'm not sure.
  11. I thought Please don't double post. That post was off-topic, so it can (eventually be merged with this thread). Anyway regardless of whether he can help, try searching ebay for BCA-MZNH1. There's at least 3 for sale with a price of around $20.
  12. Yes but... the first time u press Tmark or REC, presto a blank disk is created. Just thought you should be warned.
  13. Please go back and read the NetMD for Windows 64-bit from the beginning. If you cannot be bothered, try starting here:

    Newbie :)

There's NO driver required for HiMD. You only need a driver for NetMD. With an MZ-RH1 you need to put a non-Hi-MD (aka LoMD) in the unit with data already recorded on it at LP2, LP4 or SP. Now go into the device list and update the NetMD driver which is probably marked with a yellow exclam. To convince yourself of all this, try recording in HiMD mode (you can do this on a regular MD, you don't need the 1GB kind) and see if Sonic Stage sees anything.
  15. Roughly p.36 in the manual (I was looking at NH700 manual but they are essentially identical). It should work.
  16. I think you have to turn OFF synchro recording, that's all.

    KDL-32W650A Wall Mount

That's pretty dumb for Sony to have abandoned the standard hole spacings for 11.25" or 283 mm (assuming I read the cut sheet correctly). So much for standards!
  18. All I can say is, keep trying, it works. I assume you have already downloaded the 64-bit Net MD driver. In any event you should be able to read HiMD, but it may be you have only a NetMD player, or a HiMD player with only NetMD disks.

    KDL-32W650A Wall Mount

Weird about the holes. Sounds like they are not VESA (100mm, 200mm or 400mm IIRC). Sony sometimes chooses a much bigger size than necessary for the weight. I can relate to your whole "corner" thing, as I tried and failed to get a company to MAKE me a corner mounted stereo cabinet. No &*()_ clue! What I ended up doing was to put the bracket with folding arm on one of the walls, and then put the TV across the corner by adjusting the angle of the bracket. This worked pretty good. Send me a PM if interested, you could drive over and see it. Welcome to our forums! Stephen
  20. 1. Go back to your old Vaio 2. Run the File Conversion Tool (from the Tools on the main menu when viewing "My Library" in SonicStage), making sure to uncheck the box that asks about protection. 3. Copy the newly converted files to your new computer. It's the only way that I can be sure of (there may be others but none of them is guaranteed). If you've lost access to your former computer, by and large you are toast. LP2 and LP4 tracks will play in VLC. But that's all. Welcome to the forums, and good luck!
  21. If you can figure out the VID/PID (VID is 054C for Sony) of the USB, I can probably add it into the NetMD driver installs that we have here, enabling you to run SonicStage.
  22. Page 22-23 in the JB930 manual (available online if you don't have it) at http://minidisc.org/equipment_browser.html (possibly the most useful URL you will ever need to remember!!!).
  23. Interesting post. Makes you sound like the average board-posting MD addict around here. You want it all, now. Some random thoughts, not in order (sorry I might need more time to contemplate the comprehensive solution to get you out of where you are): 1. Always run FCT from within Sonic Stage. Bad things happen if you do not. 2. Check your firewall and turn it off. I'm NOT thinking of Windows firewall here. I'm thinking of your LAN. It should only need to be for a few seconds. 3. Not sure if the authentication procedure uses Windows Exploder, or its DLLs but I am guessing it does. There may be something real weird going on there. Probably, as long as you have the upgrade to W7, you should be trying that part out in the XP box, and later reinstall SS directly into 64-bit land. 4. As you say the best is to get everything unprotected. This categorically means you need your old system running, AFAIK. Hope this helps. I would avoid the Convert File menu for now, the less unexpected transformations to your files the safer your music will be (I'm speaking from a reproduction perspective). Stephen PS I understand about VLC (and it WILL NOT play the A3+, yet, although in time we hope so). But you can also play with ANY media player in Windows. Where VLC is interesting is that it does not use the windows sound dll's and can therefore be run on Android etc. When you're concerned that SS isn't working right, try playing a track with WMP. If it works, your problems are minor and can be sorted. If it doesn't almost certainly you're still encrypted. VLC **will** play encrypted LP2 and LP4 but that's all at the moment.
  24. Set the synch level to something reasonable. Try -40dB and see if that makes too many (or too FEW) tracks.
