  1. No it isn't. But the track can't already exist on your PC. If it does you won't be able to upload the same track again. As soon as you delete the track from your PC you can upload again from the same Hi-MD disc without deleting the track on the MD.
  2. I'll confirm this. You can also move tracks between groups, but no trackmarks. Even if you could add trackmarks (which you can't) I suspect it would only be for Atrac trks and not MP3's.
  3. Actually it looks like you can edit the titles on the unit, just tried it for some 352 Atrac3+ tracks transferred with SS3.4, not the usual "Cannot Edit" message. Ironically you've always been able to do it for tracks transferred with Simple Burner. Haven't tried for MP3's or for adding trackmarks to USB transferred tracks though.
  4. For this particular issue you just need to switch off the Group Rec function on the unit. By default every set of recordings via mic/line in will be placed in a new group.
  5. I assume you mean 12 hrs standby not playback - How long are you charging the battery for? A full charge for the NH1 entails another 2hrs or so after the red charge light has gone off.
  6. No it doesn't, but if that bothers you can't you just delete the album out of your library as soon as you have finished transferring? I think SS is a lot more flexible in terms of ripping and so the small extra step of manually deleting the album afterwards is a trade-off I'm happy to live with.
  7. Correct in the same way you can playback SP/LP2/LP4 recordings on a Hi-MD unit. You can't read documents created by Office 2003 with Office 97 (unless you force it to remove the Office 2003 exclusive features) in the same way you can't upload legacy Atrac files. Uploading is something that is inherent to Hi-MD formatted discs & not the legacy versions of the codecs on NetMD formatted discs..
  8. Exactly Hi-MD replaced NetMD for this very reason. You can't expect Sony to try and retrofit old legacy equipment with Hi-MD technology, it just won't work. Why doesn't MS Office 2003 run on Windows 98? It's just not compatible technology. Get over it.
  9. The lyrics are I think only visible when playing back a track in SS. You can add the lyrics to the track in the Track Properties then when it is playing back, if you click on the book icon on the top right of the playback panel underneath the play mode selector (which is gray and by default says "Normal"). Normalization at the moment is only an option when creating audio cds out of SS.
  10. You are a bit vague, are you having issues playing back CD's in SS or is it ripped tracks in My Library that are distorted. If it is the former you may want to try changing the CD Playback from Digital to MCI in the Options.
  11. Yeah, I uploaded them all, but it was an entirely woe-free process.
  12. This is probably only really of interest for users of the DH10P, but because of the new upload capabilities with 3.4 you can assign covert art to albums on discs that you have already recorded but omitted to add the cover art for. Admittedly it's long winded and I still wish we could assign cover art to discs "after the fact" simply by using the properties of a group in the transfer window but still... Basically the steps are: You upload the album back from your Hi-MD into the SS library (making sure it's not already in the library)Delete the original group from the discAssign the cover art in SS via the properties for the album in My LibraryTransfer back to the Hi-MDMaybe someone can confirm this, but I also managed to do this for an album I had recorded via Simple Burner (and not via Sonic Stage because SS didn't like the copy protection - sorry Sony!).
  13. Why only almost decent? I think it is a lot more than just decent. Not perfect, but a long way ahead of decent.
  14. To quote from your site: Seems like you did this yourself by not backing up the data with the correct tools. You just shoot yourself in the foot by saying this, how can your claims stand up, when you basically admit you haven't read the manual properly. In your case you could have used the backup tool to backup your data to removable media which could then have been restored via the same utility to your new hard drive. As others have said converting your files to WAV as you uploaded them was also a possibility which would have effectively removed the DRM and again you could have backed these up to a suitably secure location.
  15. Hi - welcome to the forums. You will have to go through Sonic Stage to put MP3's on your RH10. But it's not at all a bad piece of software as you'll see if you download version 3.4 from the downloads section.
  16. No. But you may want to close the Simple Burner icon in your system tray before upgrading.
  17. I don't think it is as I uploaded a Hi-SP disc KrazyIvan sent me and I'm pretty sure he didn't record it via optical in.
  18. As Chris says, I think the most amazing thing about this release is that pretty much all of the new features are things that we users have actually been asking for.
  19. Dunno, the RM-MC38EL is the supplied remote (in Europe) with the NH900 though. Weird...

    MD Volume

AVLS (Automatic Volume Limiter System) if switched on prevents the volume rising beyond a certain level, supposedly to prevent damage to your hearing. You can check if it is on by going to the menu OPTION => AVLS.

Have you switched on AVLS in the menus by mistake? Also try listening with different headphones.

  23. As far as I knew wasn't the current model Sony gumstick charger the BC-7HT and not the BC-7DC2?
  24. I have charged NH-14WM batteries internally in my NH900 and as far as I remember they do actually take longer to charge. The battery also lasts longer.
