  1. I get a lot of mine from www.discogs.com (but they are aimed towards certain kinds of music only).

    22 kHz MP3?

For these low res MP3's I usually import into SS and then convert to the nearest Atrac3 / Atrac3+ bitrate (something like 64 or 132 depending on what the original bitrate is)
  3. The only Noise Cancelling phones I have found that are any good are the MDR-NC11A. They sound good with the cancelling on or off, they have a good frequency response of 10-22000hz, they are the canal style and actually sound very similar to the MDR-71EXSL / 81EXSL - but unfortunately suffer from the same weak cables. But the noise-cancelling works very well on planes /trains I have found.
  4. . No problem - I can't really provide any feedback on this seller I'm afraid. If I remember correctly Ishii got his from Bargaining4all.com (also in China) - I'm not sure if they are in any way connected to this seller or not.
  5. You may want to have a look at this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Limited-Issue-Sony-Mas...1QQcmdZViewItem
  6. Thanks for that Raja. I thought you had already posted this somewhere but obviously not. Good job!

  8. No you're right - you can't - I tried as well with this method and like you had to create a dummy group with one track in it.
  9. From what I gather from his initial testing 352K recording was not available on the unit.
  10. Ok it's definitely not possible to start the JPEG viewer without opening the lens cover (slideshow yes). But I copied a photo I took with another Sony digital camera on the DH10P and could zoom it in the JPEG viewer with no problem. The manual does say that it doesn't support progressive JPEG's or anything under 16x16 pixels.
  11. Sorry I forgot to say welcome to the forums in my previous post - so welcome! I haven't tried what you mentioned on mine but I will test and let you know.
  12. I just checked their site and they do ship to Australia - according to their calcs it would cost AUD 437.27 / USD 313.14 including shipping and customs. I think over all their prices are pretty good, but obviously TBR's faulty DH10P from Audiocubes was unfortunate.
  13. Unfortunately you cannot change the time interval only the order in which images are displayed (in order / random). The manual actually warns that images in the slideshow may appear rougher than the actual image.
  14. I'm pretty sure they do as they have an international checkout option.

  16. Depending on what it is you are buying you may need a step-down power transformer depending on the voltage input of the item and almost certainly a US/JP to UK plug convertor.

  18. Well the first thing I would suggest is to apply SP2 for Windows XP then re-install 3.4 as per these instructions: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=8071
  19. One thing you can do is this (if you want you avoid using shots taken on the unit): http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=14113&hl= A bit slow though. I thought Raja had another tip but I can't remember what it was? I think it was something along the lines of creating blank groups in SS with cover art assigned then transferring the empty groups with art and then moving the tracks on the unit to the new groups, then deleting the original groups.

  21. Volta is right that the 40ELK is the only remote on which you can view the input level, the 55ELK allows you to change the recording levels via the remote, but the default display is just time elapsed. See this pictorial for a couple of photos of each: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=13791
  22. From what we understand now though it is the black unit that will be available in the EU anyway.
  23. I must say everything I am hearing about this unit just sounds better and better. Sony have reall y pulled out all the stops. I will definitely be getting one. I'm not too bothered about the battery issue as I already have several units with Lip-4WM's.
  24. Marck has put his initial findings here: http://www.mdcenter.nl/redirect.php?file=h...opic.php?t=2084 It appears the MP3 playback is much improved also.
