  1. Didn't we start (and subsequently close) this topic yesterday? Or am I just having deja vu?
  2. Yes it's not too difficult too figure out the menu tree from the manual. I dont think there is an english version of this manual as it was only ever released in Japan. But if you need help with any specifics let us know and there are plenty of people here who can help. Enjoy! Just noticed you're member number 100 - only 2 posts in 3 years
  3. Another user here had a similar problem with CDDB after installing Winamp - try doing a search in the forums for CDDB and / or Simple Burner.
  4. Try this with a disc in the player: Press and hold the menu button on the remote then: 1) Select: 各種設定 / Option 2) Within "Option," scroll down and select: 表示言語 / Language 3) Select: 英語表示 (English Language) Once you have done that I think you have to switch the menu mode to advanced to get to the Beep function.
  5. Are you behind a firewall? Do you connect to the internet via proxy - if so you may need to configure the address in the Simple Burner options. If you right click on the Simple Burner icon in the system tray is the Windows Configuration option greyed out? If it isn't you need to select it and supply credentials to be used by the service.
  6. Strange.. If i open the link http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?act=rssout&id=2 in Firefox just as an xml page the TTL tag is at 900. Does it do the same for you / or do I have the wrong link?
  7. Chris can you check the update properties for the new posts feed - my RSS reader says it is set 15 hours not 15 minutes. I think the TTL is at 900.
  8. Nice - I was already using the news feed. Is the second one the last 25 new threads or the last 25 posts in any thread?

  10. According to the webpage it is: 167W×290H×248Dmm
  11. The newer part of Venice (also where is the airport is) is called Mestre. It's on the mainland, across the long bridge from the island. Florence historical center is all fairly mediaeval but you can find more "modern" areas in the suburbs and out of town.
  12. Yep a very nice looking player - those green buttons in the back of the unit look like some kind of sweets (or pills)..
  13. It would be nice, but realistically I don't think so. It is very rare even to find normal MDLP bookshelf systems over here. Personally I will try and import one of the Onkyo systems later this year or at the begining of next - but not through Audiocubes. The Onkyo's also have digital in / out and a slightly wider frequency response.
  14. Can you rip using Simple Burner? It could be the firmware / drivers for your cd drive - try updating these to the latest version. Also make sure there is enough free disk space on the drive for SS to store it's temporary files. Some people have also reported problems upgrading to SS 3.2 and then applying XP SP2 afterwards. In these cases it has been known that re-installing SS after having applied SP2 can resolve the issue.
  15. I haven't been to Paris for a long while, but for Electronics you might want to try somewhere like Fnac (Rue Montparnasse and elsewhere) - basically a large record, books, electronics store. Venice - in Venice the old city there is no electronics shops - you would have to go on to the mainland to Mestre which is where the modern commerical part of Venice is. Florence - again the old city is not really the place to find electronics stores you would need to go out of town into some of the retail parks. Somewhere like "Trony" (which I think it may have chnaged it's name to "UniEuro"). Rome - there are quite a lot of electronics stores in the centre of Rome, most are small businesses as opposed to chain stores - you can quite often find good deals, but to be honest there's not a lot of MD stuff I've come across apart from blanks. Switzerland is pretty expensive. I don't know Lucerne though so again no real info.
  16. Does this happen with all cd's? Do the cd's in question have copy protection? - If they do you will have to use Simple Burner rather than Sonic Stage to get them on to you MD.
  17. The manual for the CMT-AH10 states it is: FM: 76-90mhz AM: 531-1629khz TV: 1-3ch So the answer is no. If you need a Hi-MD bookshelf system with FM Tuner that works internationally then you'll probably have to go for one of the Onkyo models.
  18. Nice looking system - think you need to check the links in your original post though: Think the first one should be this and the speakers are here
  19. They will play 320 MP3, but none of them play Atrac 320. Only the new connect players will play Atrac 320 along with PSP and flash players that are recognized as memory sticks.
  20. Atrac 320 is not playable on this unit. This unit is already available in China & Hong Kong. Yes. It takes the same battery as the NH1, EH1, NH3D (LIP-4WM). It is not yet discontinued - it is a 2005 model.
  21. The MCMD-R1 is for transferring photos from memory sticks direct to Hi-MD discs without going through your player. You can of course just put photos on Hi-MD discs by connecting your NH900 to the computer and using it as a removable disk.
  22. Ok, but I think Kurisu is right, the priority is to sort out your base installation not try and retrofit an old version of SS just because it runs on your "screwed" XP system. Whilst maybe requiring a little more time initially this will also benefit you in the long term - you don't want your system to crash because of any viruses / spyware / other gunk while your away travelling do you?
  23. I believe the new blue discs have just been released in Japan with yet another slight variation on the packaging (but same discs).
  24. Well there is no direct evidence to support that. The people on that forum couldn't agree if did make a difference or not after the 1.2 upgrade. Some said that in fact the regional setting also had to be changed from EU to another destination to get full effect.
  25. Akihabara news has details of a new Sony MD bookshelf system that also has a 40GB hard-drive: http://www.akihabaranews.com/en/news-10472...Dd+by+Sony.html
