  1. You can name one thing or many things, no holds barred, no offense taken, etc. I want this place to get bigger, and I want people to stick around. Alot of the forums I visit always have the same people consistantly on time and time again. I want to create that kind of enviroment. Please offer your opinions on the direction we should take from here.
  2. Hm, well the NH1 manual states that the unit should be operated between 41 - 95F. They don't recommend anything lower or higher than that, but you must take into accord that the NH1 was in a box within a box in packaging and was probably fine. Obviously, you've had sufficent time now to play with it, is it ok?
  3. There's a problem though, the SP in Sonicstage is not true SP. It's rebadged LP2. Unfortunately, the only way to record true SP is in realtime, or with a deck/bookshelf that can do it slightly faster than realtime. $100 bucks, eh? I would suggest you look @ ebay for "MDLP -recorder"
  4. There was another thread I read where someone was talking to Sony UK tech support and they mentioned minidisc.org forums. They never recommended marc's utility, but I know they're aware of it. Sony.co.jp had some bots crawling the forum last night, as well. Something is stirring..
  5. Okok, it'll support mp3, but there are no definitive plans for UMD writers. So, that means the only "support" you'll see is for the memorystick or perhaps wirelessly?
  6. No response to my question, Cor? I wasn't being a jackass.
  7. Uninstall via the directions in the NetMD faq and install again.
  8. Welcome to the forums. Did you uninstall and reinstall via the directions in the NetMD faq [found in the NetMD forum]?
  9. Just making sure you know where. Make as many threads as you want, it doesn't matter. It's a forum! :rasp:
  10. I would suggest you take it to a parts centre. Attempting a repair on your own will probably end up doing more harm than good.
  11. Just to come back to this, a third party has made a wav converter and the format has been rejuvinated, or at least what it should've been. Sony UK has already recommended us..
  12. Yeah, but the SP mode in Sonicstage + SimpleBurner is fake; it's rebadged LP2. The only way to do true blue 292kbps SP is realtime.
  13. Thanks. I was hoping that it would be clear enough in the title, but perhaps I'll have to reword it. Many people seem to find great offense at me moving posts here. If you actually LOOK at the posts within this forum I've done the MD community and the businesses who make MD units a favor: the reality of this format and what irks people. Ditto.
  14. I don't disagree with this, but I do wonder, what would you do if you were in his shoes in this situation? Would you never step into Iraq at all?
  15. From the thread jade linked: Now, maybe I've been watching too many court dramas, but that doesn't sound real definite to me. :rasp: Skyther isn't always right, you know..
  16. If you purchase a Hi-MD unit, you can upload Hi-SP faster than realtime.
  17. Hm. I was just taking a look at my DS8 and the only thing I could fathom, regardless of their differences, is the hinge. Does it look secure?
  18. You can also get a sound card with digital out, an appropriate digital cable and record in realtime for true SP to your MD unit. Or, you can do the same with a different source, such as a dvd player with digital out, home stereo, etc.
  19. Thanks for your impressions. I really appreciate them, and so will other members of the community who will read this and learn from your experiences. I look forward to your future words and also the possibility of some uploaded recordings? Even an analog upload sounds good in the right conditions..
  20. You lived through Bush's entire term and even saw the dot-com bubble burst. Your opinion is extremely relevant.. --------- I think Iraq was necessary, but we did not do it appropriately. Why do I justify the assault and rebuilding of Iraq? Because of stories like this. I cannot imagine the hardships that people faced in that country for the last few decades. Unfortunately, we supplied Iraq/Saddam the power to do this [weapons, etc] back in the '80's. If Kerry had led the Iraq invasion [which we probably wouldn't have done so steadfast], there would be a much different result in the outcome of the war. We should've finished what we started in Afghanistan instead of trying to multitask. Bush says we didn't alter our resources [from Afghanistan] for Iraq. That's bullshit, it's all bullshit and will be a sad reminder of a failed administration years from now. I feel immense respect and sorrow for the people who have fallen for us in these confrontations. -------- What I'm worried about is North Korea, however. How do you folk feel about that? Let's digress into other-than-Iraq discussion, as that horse has been beaten to death, so to speak. There's many other fallacies that I can go into, but I'll save them for future replies. Nonetheless, I'm going to add a poll to this thread and you can cast your own vote - Bush or Kerry. Nader doesn't count. :rasp:
  21. The E10 is not that well sounding compared to Kenwood and Sharp units that came out the next generation after. Even Sony High Definition digital amps sound better than an E10. Nonetheless, I still think that this unit does NOT sound like an E10. This is a silly train of thought that has spread around discussion forums like wildfire. Until you hear it, how do you know? Who would buy this thing? Probably some nut like me or Eric, who owns minidisc.org. Just kidding. Who would buy it off eBay, though? :rasp:
  22. Please don't use shout-lock, we can hear you just fine. :rasp: You need to uninstall via the directions in the NetMD faq and then install Sonicstage 2.1/2 again. Welcome to the forums, regardless!
  23. Welcome to your forums. Aer has made some great recommendations, but I must ask, what is your maximum budget?
