It sounds like you have a WOG mentality. That is not a bad thing. *EDIT* I am only relaying my experience with the Extigy. You have every right to have your pure 44.1. For me it is a mute point. I have what I want and it works for me. I don't know much on the Phillips Arelium (SP?) but that is another alternative I considered before getting the Extigy. It did not work independantly from the computer so I stopped my research on it there.

Very interesting. I am going to have to wait to search it at home.

I know I cannot.

I have been using a SB Extigy with success. I know it tends to be a CPU hog, but I hardly play games. If I do, I just unplug it and revert to my Live! card. I have read a lot of complaints on the software being buggy but I have not had any problems. I purchased it second hand through eBay for $45USD. It has both optical in and out along with coax digital out. One thing I do wish it had was RCA in's/out's. The analog outputs are 3.5mm minijack's which make a bit of a hassle when I want analog. I just ended up getting a 3.5mm minijack cable. The best feature is that I can use it without powering on my computer. This is good for when I want to listen to music but do not need the computer. I have my Sony ES CD deck plugged into the optical input for that.

As long as there is an analog signal I will be able to copy with my MD units. As long as the music companies keep on doing disc based encryption it will be broken. When they start looking at the hardware closer then it will be time to go back to analog recording.

I don't remember when the group function came out but I think it started with the R909? My R900, Aiwa AMF80, and R500 do not/did not have the group function. The first unit I bought that had it was the N510.

Remote (RM-MC12ELK or RM-MC11EL) for the MZ-R500
KrazyIvan replied to Slava Hero's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
On my 600D the 11EL navigation controls work and volume works. That's about it. -
Are you using cheap batteries? Good heavy duty alkaline batteries are the best if you do not have access to an AC adapter. *EDIT* If you are in the US, Wal-Mart sells a universal adapter for about $16-$20 that I have used with my N510, R900 and Sharp MD-MT170. Just picked the right connector/polarity and voltage and I was good to go.

I noticed you are in the US. Where did you get your NH700 and how much did you pay?

My current indoor phones are some old school Pioneer SE-405's. I love them. For going out and about I enjoy my EX71SP's. The Pioneer's The EX71's

is Antishock Problem still exist on a new models?
KrazyIvan replied to Slava Hero's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
I have only had one unit skip on me. It was the MZ-E80 player. I have owned quite a few units, including the R500, and they never skipped on me with the exception of the E80. -
Yep, the MZ-1 had optical out. I had one and seriously regret selling it.

I swap between Sony and non-Sony cables without problems.

I'm considering the 26P's too. That is better than all the prices I have seen so far. Just take into account shipping too.

Emergency Spare Battery for MZ-NH900
KrazyIvan replied to soundalike's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
I am not sure if the NH900 has the ability to use an external dry cell adapter, but if it does I would use that with an a heavy duty alkaline cell over Ni-CD's. Even a AA Ni-MH would be better. With my R900 I use a 14WM and a Panasonic 1600 mah Ni-MH AA. It works very well. I also use the Panasonic rechargeable with my 600D and get about 24 hours of usable power. (8 hours continuous use for 3 days). *EDIT* I still would not recommend charging the NI-CD with the NH900. Even if you did stop the charging process at the right time it would be too easy toforget about it and overcharge the battery. -
Emergency Spare Battery for MZ-NH900
KrazyIvan replied to soundalike's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
I would not charge them with your NH900. Ni-CD's charge differently than Ni-MH's. Personally I do not use my units to charge batteries. I would use a seperate, dedicated charger. As for the time they last, well it looks like you already researched it but I do not think they will last very long. -

I have several Sony Armband cases for sale. They are brand new in the box. I am asking $10 USD, that includes shipping within the US. They are the MDCASE3 version and you can find them on minidisco for $14.95 plus shipping. Will work with the MZ-N510, NE410, NF610, NF810, MZ-N10 and similarly sized MD models. Will also hold a couple of extra MD's. Here is a picture: http://www.ivan.spodemedia.net/mdcase.JPG I prefer US buyers but will consider shipping worldwide as long as you pay the shipping. I accept Paypal, and certified bank checks in US funds. Trades for new MD blanks will be considered on an individual basis but I prefer the cash. Please PM me if interested. Here is my feedback thread on the "T-Board" http://www.audiotstation.com/forum/showthr...&threadid=27030 Thanks

This is generally true for any USB device. Install drivers first then hook up to the USB device (most likely after a reboot). The only device I ever installed that needed the device to be connected while the driver was being installed is my SB Extigy.

Remotes for NH600D and/or RH910
KrazyIvan replied to ethornley's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
I use the 33EL with mine. Works fine. -
Shipping? *EDIT* Never mind, I just saw the no pay pal part.

You have a PM.

Doesn't the RH10 have a pseudo line out?

I am assuming you mean the MZ-N707. Can you still play other discs? It sounds like the magnetic head may be garbage now. Do you get a blank disc message right after you record or do you just get silence with the play time counter moving? A little more info would help like any error messages you get.
