The only MD's that allow you o upload what they record are the Hi-MD models, those are the ones with the H in their numbers, such as NH700, NH1 o RH1, etc. The best of the bunch is the RH1, it will allow you t upload pretty well anything, some small restrictions, unfortunately yours will have to be a line in recording, if you look through the forum there are a lot of helps and hints. Good luck Bob

PM guitarfxr, he has loads of xperience with MAC, Good Luck Bobb

Happy Birthday boojum, hope life is going good for you and you are still going to church. I promise to get some recordings up to you soon, Bob

I had a similar problem not long ago with one of my NH1's, tried the battery trick, several discs, all the same. I figured, what the heck, took the tp cover off couldn't see anything obvious, manually moved the head, reassembled it, put in a disc, and voila, it worked and hasn't skipped a beat since, may be worth a try in your case. Is your unit still under warranty? Also had a similar problem a couple of years ago on my other one, sentr it with a friend to take to Sony, just charged me $50.00 to replace the optical block, worth a try as well. Bob

Happy Birthday veezhun, hope life is well Bob

You actually need the RH1 to do what you need. The 600 is a very basic model, will only upload what it records. Where are you? PM me Bob
-
Have you tried going to gracenote or similar sites and point at the folder and see what happens. Worth a try Bob

You have to go into the options menu of sonic stage to set it for SP, I've done quite a few that way for my car deck with my NH1, the same options are there for the RH1, forget about the talks of compression and all, the end result is what you hear, and what you hear will be quite nice Bob BTW, for Simple burner to work you need a CD, I have heard that an image made of the tracks will work, but I don't know if you can get SP out of SB

Help me reconnect with my MDS-PC2

I believe one of the selling points of this unit was the ability to use the computer and monitor as your edit table, at least that's what I get from looking at the equipment browser. Bob -
You may not like the sound if the cartridge even has enough output to give you a decent level, one of the functions of a preamp as well as amping the signal, is to give the signal the right equalization, or pr-emphasis, to make it sound good. Let us know how your experiment pans out Bob

Hi all, especially those of you in the far east, a customer brought in a Rav 4 today for some work, new car to him, and he wondered about a Panasonic black box on his console, looks like it has an optical in square plug and the ability to have digital media go in the top The model number is Panasonic CY-ET906K0 Any one ever seen one, did a google check and found a similar item, Japanese only, didn't have time to translate Many Thanks, Bob

You will probably need a preamp to get the levels high enough to record with, doesn't answer your bitrate question though, but unless it is a pristeen album with wide dynamic range 352 may be overkill Bob

You got an incredible deal, the 330 may just need a little cleaning and lubrication. The 505 is at the end of it's life, best not play with it too much, the wiring to the record head breaks, then it will randomly erase discs, not good. I would suggest an NH-700, comes with a mic input, and can record in legacy. Have fun Bob

Make sure you have at least SS3.4, and set your parameter to SP, you should be good to go, it goes without saying, but I'll say it anyways, you will need a recorder to make music for this baby Bob

exactly, shows our multiculturalism Bob If you couldn't figure out, they were talking about the James Horner "Brainstorm" Bob

Do you still have the unit, I PM'ed you, PM meBob

Listening to an old Canadian electronic band from the eighties, Rational Youth called Total rational, good listen if I may say so myself Bob

Get an RH1 to record it! Bob

Happy days are here, Postmistress from the other island brought it over today, wow, what a beauty, far nicer in person than in pictures. I was also expecting something flimsy, surprisingly well built. Also got some AXIA 80 minute colored MD's, very cool. Now for fun Bob

Glad you liked it, would have been a good concert to be at Take care Bob

it really boils down to let your ears be your guide, this time ears say SP, you can also try simple burner in SS to import and give that a try Bob
-
you may have a problem with your USB cable, as well there sometimes seems to be a problem if you do too much editing on the unit, then transfer, you get problems, try a virgin recording and see what happens Bob

e-nail the file to yourself, and open that file, see if something gets lost in space. Good luck Bob
