  1. As long as you don't use the small mic that plugs right into the unit, you will be fine, if you have one of them, use an extension cable. Happy recording, Bob
  2. Hi David, Try not to have the levels get too positive, ) to - 1 or -2 db should be good, any plus gives you digital clipping, which is not as forgiving as analogue clipping. Have fun, and count yourself lucky that you can get to the board Bob
  3. Hi David, If you are going into the mixer, all you need is a 1/8" male to two RCA jack connector. you put the RCA into the mixer, and the 1/8 to your line in/mic jack, set levels, and bob's your uncle. Done it lots with my NH1 and 707, works real well. If you want more crowd noise you are better off with mics, but a mixer will give you a better recording. Have fun Bob
  4. It was around $300.00 9 years ago, probably nice, but to mee, not worth that price, you could get a nice NH700 or 800 for that price, try a lower bid and see what happens Bob
  5. 707's are old, and are prone to record head wires breaking and destroying your recordings. Go to an Nh-700, then you can to live, as well as upload your recording. My 707 is a very nice paperweight, that's all I dare use it for. Have fun, and welcome to the machine Bob
  6. Take the battery right out, let the unit reset, and see if you can charge the battery directly ( put 4 to 5 volts on it for ten to fifteen minutes ) and see what happens. If that doesn't work, try a sony repair depot near you, they should be able to get you going. Good luck bob
  7. "Sounds like Sony must know about this one." and still they deny and do nothing! Bob
  8. Is it possible the TOC was being written and you took the disc out? Other than that, damn, thats an annoyance. I seem to remember as well though that the editing should be done after the fact, but some seem to have been able to do it as you did, Hope somehow you can recover Bob
  9. I reread your post, what version of Sonic Stage are you using. If it was done on the NH900 it should upload I think, Good luck Bob
  10. The RH1 is the only answer to that, and I've heard that it will not upload SS recordings, but not having the unit I can't say for sure. Bob
  11. Just watched The Dark Knight, and Hancock, Dark Knight was alright, and I agree with most that Heath did a fair job as The Joker, to me, not as good as Jack nicolson's Joker, but good. I do not believe in idolizing someone whose choices in life caused his death, so my vote if it counted, would not to give him an Oscar for his portrayal. As for Hancock, to me a far more enjoyable watch, I would recommend this one before Dark Knight. TTFN Bob
  12. You rock and you rule, impressive, keep on doin what you're doin Bob
  13. I had a similar problem a while ago, ended up one of may RAM modules wasn't fully seated, cleaned contacts and reseated chip and all was well. Good luck Bob

    Flikr MD

    Good one, Thanks Bob
  16. Sometimes if the unit is writing to the disc it locks the door so the disc can't be removed, it sometimes takes a while, could be what happened to you. if it happens again, take the battery out, then try to remove the disc. Could just be bad luck too, hope you get it fixed. bob
  17. Sounds like an MD was put in backwards and forced, if there is a Sony repair centre near you I would take it there, there are a lot of small bits in there, and very easy to mess up. Good luck, Bob
  18. Very nice, I miss my stereo that I left in Canada when I moved south,Revox tuntable and CD player, TEAC reel to reel, Aiwa cassette deck, and Heco powered speakers, sigh I know you will get lots of enjoyment from yours Take care, Bob
  19. If you can't fing the DVD try and get the CD, I can MD it for you if you want, PM me . Amazing how some artists will do that like/dislike thing for you, had a few and like you say it's hard to pinpoint. Take care, Bob
  20. watching and listening to Rick Wakeman " Made in Havana" Made a couple of years ago to make money for a children's hospital in Havana, heard about it the evening of the concert, a couple of days earlier and I would have been there. Great concert, CD of the show is very good as well. Rick toned down his touring because of the small mindedness of some "fans" who made life difficult for him because of where he played. dumbasses all of them, pick it up if you can Bob
